PERFETTO!!!! Posto estremamente curato, immerso nel verde e con una vista mozzafiato. Le camere sono belle e molto pulite, una nota di merito in particolare al ristorante, eccezionale! La colazione è ottima e varia. Insomma non trovo un difetto, il luogo ideale per rilassarsi. Consigliatissimo!

Beautiful A beautiful resort with breath-taking views of the Umbrian countryside. We flew into Rome Fiumicino, a quick 30-minute train to Rome Termini, then onto another train to Orvieto which just took just over an hour. Once at Orvieto train station, we crossed the road and jumped onto the amazing funicular train up the hill into the beautiful town of Orvieto. All in all, the Italian transport network was reliable and on-time with no hiccups! From Orvieto town, we used a reliable taxi/private transfer chap named Paolo - Altarocca provided his number. It was quite expensive travelling to the town and back from Altarocca - about €35-40 each way and €50 to the train station. Now, the wine resort. We pre-booked the Wine tour and tasting with lunch. Andrea the wine connoisseur was incredibly passionate and the best host. Lunch with the tour was impeccable. 4 light courses with 4 wine pairings that complemented beautifully. 10/10. We booked the Garden annexe at a reasonable price for 3 nights. The room was large, the garden not so much with no views of the hillside. Slept great though, with air conditioning. The panoramic pool was our hub for the stay. Pool drinks bar and food. Beautiful views. The spa access wasn’t free so we didn’t bother with the mosaic packages - it was about €250+ euro to access? Separately, my partner had a ritual massage which she thoroughly enjoyed - though it did not provide access to the spa area. Altarocca - this should be a free access area! We also had the tasting menu at the restaurant for one of our evenings, reasonably priced and cost €177 for two, with a bottle of their wine. Excellent food quality. The other two nights we ate out in Orvieto to experience more of the regions offering. There’s plenty of choice and quality to choose from. Again, just be mindful of the taxi costs if you don’t have a car. You will need to pre-book your transfers as there are no taxis driving around. The town is very small and quiet! Overall, a great experience at Altarocca and we would return for sure. The service isn’t 10/10 but it’s great if you don’t expect too much from the staff and are happy to maintain yourselves!

High class wine resort Good and premium wine resort in Umbria and close to Orvieto. Very nice surroundings and great environment at the Resort. Second stay for 4 nights. Restaurant good.

Highly recommended This winery is set in hills that make you think you are in a movie! It is stunningly beautiful. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel like royalty! The food was exceptional and the service was top-notch! The pool was refreshing and clean. The bartenders were friendly and constantly available! We felt like royalty and hope to return

Poor service (no free spa!!!) despite great location and hotel This hotel has everything to be a 5* hotel - great location, property, large rooms, great homemade grown products - but lacks of the basics - good and trustful service which is in the end the key to be recognized/remembered as a great hotel. Please check your bills at the restaurant - non of mine was correct. The mist ridiculous moment was when they told us that the usage if the spa is only available if we book a treatment (min. 250€). I‘ve never been to a hotel which called themselves a spa hotel which has a closed spa area. All in all, we wouldn‘t come back.

Un bel contesto vicino Orvieto L’hotel è molto carino, in mezzo ad una vigna molto curata. Camera molto bella, con piccola sauna. Colazione ricca e gustosa. A pochi minuti da Orvieto, ottimo per chi cerca relax e tranquillità! L’unica pecca è la dislocazione delle camere rispetto alla reception e alla piscina. Consigliato

one night only bellissimo luogo di relax tra le colline umbre. Due notti è il periodo minimo per godersi a pieno la struttura. Personale gentile e disponibile. Consiglierei di aggioungere prodotti più tipici per la colazione, che ho trovato molto "basic". Per il resto siamo innamorati di questo luogo. consiglietissimo

Rapport qualité prix en dessous des des normes- manque de convivialité, d’ambiance et d’authenticité À la fin du mois de juin il semblait que l’hôtel ne fonctionnait qu’à moitié, service moyen, on ne se sentait pas les bienvenus , à la piscine les repas sont servis dans des assiettes et verres à jeter. Ceci n’est pas en rapport avec un hôtel d’un tel niveau. Les alentours de la piscine sont peu soignés et donnent un aspect parfois délabré

Was GREAT stay!! Our trip was 18 days (incl. travel) and we stayed in 8 places across N. Italy and Tuscany. This was one of the last places we stayed, only stayed one nite (we originally planned to stay 3 nites but we couldn't work that out...Altarocca staff was very flexible to work with) and had to leave too early to have breakfast in the morning, so I can't speak to that. The room we rented was a very reasonable price and it was huge, with rooms on 2 floors, including a shower and bathroom downstairs and sauna, bathtub and shower upstairs in the bedroom. It was AWESOME. The (2) pool areas were very nice plus we had a relatively private outdoor patio outside our room where we were able to catch some late afternoon sun. It is located 15 to 20 mins outside of Orvieto ($25 euros each way by taxi) up on a hilltop, but that gave it a nice sense of exclusion. We had a couples massage and that was very relaxing. I can't recall any specifics about the meal (too many restaurants over too many days), but I believe we were happy with it and enjoyed their wine also. This place was a great value, would go back in a heartbeat, hopefully for a 2 to 3 days stay.
