My experience at Vanie Poyey Photography was wonderful! I was very hesitant to get headshots, but she spoke to me beforehand, and I felt at ease. She really listened to my needs during the session and offered suggestions. She was very professional, and I felt very comfortable with her and the hair and make up artist.
I had a wonderful experience with Vanie, from the first phone call to the end of the session and after via email. She was super easy going and professional. She took such fantastic pictures that I booked an agent with 2 weeks. The agent said these pictures are great, and I know pictures. She even offered to help me pick out 4 looks after the shoot since I did not have a theatrical rep. I recommend her to anyone needing headshots.
I loved shooting with Vanie!! I can't believe how many great pics I've got to choose from. Vanie makes it so easy to express real emotions and not just "pose" for a picture. She is totally collaborative and has a phenomenal eye for combining backgrounds and colors to create a mood and make you pop. 10 out of 10, she's awesome!!!
Vanie is amazing! She makes everything so easy and plays such fun games when we are shooting that got me out of "posing" and just allowed me to be me and be expressive. She makes it a truly collaborative experience. We didn't move on to the next look until I was satisfied that we had gotten what we needed. I am thrilled with how many different looks within looks there were just based on my changing expressions. The photos attached are NOT retouched. I'm of a certain age and I didn't want to hide that. What Vanie does with background and lighting is truly unique. Can't recommend her enough!!!

Just got my headshots done with Vanie yesterday and I couldn’t be happier. The lighting, backdrops, and overall quality were amazing. She really knows how to make your features and personality stand out. She plays your favorite music during the session and carefully chooses the best backdrop for each look, which made the whole experience feel creative and personalized.
I also added a makeup artist and highly recommend it. Abby did such a great job keeping everything natural while making me look my best, and having touch-ups throughout the session was a huge plus.
What I loved most was how comfortable and fun Vanie made the shoot. Her improv style direction helped me relax and actually enjoy myself, so the photos felt natural instead of overly posed. Truly worth every penny.

Vanie is awesome! Headshots can be very stressful, but Vanie makes it easy for you to relax into the process. She provides you with useful info that you use to compile your wardrobe after determining which character looks you're right for and, on the day of the shoot, she gives you truly effective direction that helps you get out of your head and into the character.
