After being involved in dogs for 15 years I found myself needing professional help with our 12 month old puppy bull terrier puppy. Our dog had a bad experience in a show at 7 months old and was then afraid of everything and lacked confidence. It became difficult to take him any where. I tried everything i knew to do with my previous experiences, to include many other training classes over the years. He just wasn't getting any better. I reached out to Alexia of Potrero K9s for help. From day one, Alexia has been so amazing and positive. We are 4 lessons in to our training and I can't even explain the difference in Dominic's confidence and obedience! She is patient and kind with Dominic and me. She gives us the tools we need to succeed with consistency. She is great at reading the dog and making changes that not only correct problems but teach us how to prevent the problems before they happen. I can't recommend her enough.

We love PotreroK9! We first met Alexia about two years ago when she stepped in to board our dog after we had a last minute cancellation. While our dog has come a long way with her reactivity, having a trainer who isn’t going to put her in unsafe situations while still giving her proper enrichment was important to us and PotreroK9 always hits the mark. Since then we’ve boarded & trained with PotreroK9 numerous times and have had a great experience every time! We also now have an adolescent working malinois and PotreroK9 is one of the few places we’re able to entrust him to when we’re out of town. Both of our dogs absolutely love Alexia and we would recommend to anyone!

I had a Nova Scotia Duck Toller named Blue who struggled with recalling, especially when distracted by other animals. I decided to seek help and hired Alexia for ecollar and recall training. Thanks to Alexia's expertise and guidance, Blue has made remarkable progress. I am now confident that I can take Blue anywhere off-leash and recall him without any issues. Blue has become significantly more responsive to recalls without the need for corrections. He now understands to stay close and comes when called promptly. The improvement in Blue's behavior is truly remarkable! I highly recommend Alexia for anyone looking for effective and compassionate dog training. I recently sent my 1 yr old Cane Corso to Alexia's Adventure Camp, a 5 day stay, to address some behavioral issues with my shy and reactive Cane Corso. I'm not sure who suffered more from separation anxiety, lol. Alexia text me every day, sent videos and photos to reassure me, and shared what she was doing with my dog. She even created videos WITH my dog to show me how she was working with her for me to continue at home. Although the time was brief, I am incredibly impressed with the progress made. Even in a short amount of time, I have noticed improvements in my dog's behavior. We have been working hard since returning home to continue progress forward. And, when I had questions Alexia was quick in her response providing positive reinforcement.
