****TEMPORARILY CLOSED**** Drove 45 mins away to try this place because it was listed as open and closed at 10. Got there at 5pm to discover they were closed for good until further notice. Please update yelp and Google reviews. So customers no that you are no longer in business. Takes 1 minute to update
Closed on a Saturday during their open hours so I called the number posted on the door. The message said they were closed until further notice.
There was no sign in the door and no update on google maps saying "temp closed" which was disappointing.
Super disappointing not being able to try their food since everyone I've spoken to here locally has said it's really amazing, but also that they didn't put a sign on the door, update google, or make any effort other than the voicemail to let (potential) customers know.
Wish them all the best, and will delete this review if/when they reopen or update people with what's happening.
The concept is great, healthy eating and organic foods that you can feel good about putting in your body. The execution left something to be desired.
My husband and I came here for lunch on a weekday afternoon after searching high & low for a restaurant that serves organic produce and healthy options. He has an auto-immune condition, and the menu is great for individuals looking for a place to support an anti-inflammatory diet. This is not a place for those who consider themselves big carnivores, but it is good for those who are vegetarian or vegan. Expanding their selection could make it more palatable for all, but for now I think the clientele who will embrace and enjoy the food here is limited.
It might have been a bad day in the kitchen, but our food was so salty it was not edible. The food looked fantastic, colorful and full of vegetables - but it didn't taste good. We would go back because the menu is promising, but I would lean toward ordering moderate / minimal seasoning. We took the food to go, and it was much better once we mixed it with eggs and other veggies to dilute the amount of salt. I wish they would incorporate meat into the menu, such as organic free-range beef or chicken- but, that's less of a complaint and more feedback to the restaurant on how they may be able to broaden their audience. I don't recommend Plant Gossip for large groups or gatherings with varying tastes, it is not one of those places where everyone can find something they like on the menu.
Other than our very salty meal, service was very friendly and relatively quick. The location is very walkable from DT CDA and the place has a nice vibe. If you're looking for healthy, plant-based options - this is the spot!
**EDIT: We went there Friday night, Sept 26, 2025, and the cafe is currently "closed until further notice". Call ahead and see exactly which part of the business is open.** What a treasure! Plant Gossip is basically a raw organic vegan restaurant, the only one for hundreds of miles. I don't think Seattle even has a restaurant like this. They use no gluten, soy, processed foods, chemicals, or additives, and everything they do is made inhouse. Great, creative food that is delicious and filling. They also have an amazing assortment of house made nut butters, plus smoothies, shakes, desserts, beer and wine, and more. The kitchen was a little slow when we were there (over 30 minutes for our dishes to arrive), but I am guessing some of the dishes we ordered took a little time to prepare. It was worth the wait. The Yucatan Power Bowl is money! My wife had a full size Sunshine Salad, and neither of us could finish our meal. We had plenty of leftovers. (Edit: The menu prices for meals are a few dollars higher now than in the currently posted menu pictures. Here are pictures of the menu as of 9/7/2025)
I just discovered Plant Gossip two weeks ago but have already been back twice. The food is outstanding, the staff exceptional (thank you Mariah), and the philosophy inspiring.
If you are looking to take home healthy food their glass jars of prepared soups are an additional great option! And some of the best cheesecake I have ever tasted (they magically made it vegan). Thank you for this wonderful addition to the CDA food scene!!
Incredibly delicious healthy food that is so hard to find anywhere else in our area! We are so grateful to discover this wonderful restaurant. Everything on the menu is worth trying! The food is all scratch-made and protein dense. The bar is a gorgeous open space worth bringing a big group of friends to hang out and enjoy and experience healthy eating at its best. You’ve got to try this place! So refreshing! The owner has brought something very special to North Idaho.
Ordered the Thai salad to go. Took 20 min... for a salad. It was edible but it wasn't anything like what it said it was on the menu (all different ingredients). The peanut dressing was also pretty spicy which is not what I was expecting. I didn't mind it but it was odd on a salad. Was excited for a vegetarian place in cda, but it's nothing I couldn't make at home. I didn't like that the salad in no way represented what it said on the menu. It's a shame because it is so close to me, and I mostly eat vegetarian.. but I would not recommend.
Traveling with my vegan daughters is challenging when it comes to healthy eating on vacation. We found this new restaurant. The nut butter is delicious! Fresh, clean and tasty. The restaurant is beautifully appointed. The staff is knowledgeable, professional and friendly! We stopped in for the nut butter but we will be back to have dinner here. Wow!
This place was sooooo good! We got the Brady bunch smoothie, the banana date almond mealk shake, and the crack butter toastie which was the best peanut butter toast I’ve ever had!
Service was excellent. Entire menu is gluten-free, organic, and made from scratch. Super high quality and delicious food.
I wouldn’t recommend the smoothies. They are very expensive and aren’t very good. I wanted to like this place, and have it a few tries, but unfortunately I’m not interested in returning. On our last visit, we brought friends from out of town and they weren’t impressed either. It’s good to see CDA getting some plant based options though!!
