The absolute best sailing crew I have ever seen! The team is incredibly friendly and experienced in sailing and the boats are better equipped then any other boat I have seen – fresh filtered water, dishwashers, starlink WIFI and so on.
I had such a nice week sailing with them around Sardinia and will for sure come back!
And not to forget: the food on board is delicious!

We spent a week with Pirates on a sailing trip in Mallorca as part of an educational leave program. It was my first time on a sailboat, so I didn’t really know what to expect. :D
The boat was very well equipped, with cozy cabins and plenty of spots to relax (and even plenty of space for individual and group work as part of our educational program). We got delicious food three times a day — including a pizza night with a high-end pizza oven while enjoying the sunset. There was 24/7 access to snacks, fruit, coffee and tea — basically no chance for tired or hangry brains onboard. Everything being fully vegan, they were also really thoughtful about my slightly picky eater preferences (haha), which I really appreciated. 🫶🏽
And we actually sailed. The crew really gave their all to make the experience unforgettable for everyone. They even sacrificed a full night of sleep to sail us from Cabrera to the north of Mallorca so we could wake up in crystal clear turquoise water and spend the next days learning and swimming in beautiful bays. Even when the sea and weather conditions got a bit rough at times, we always felt completely safe and well taken care of.
One of my highlights was seeing a completely different side of Mallorca — pure nature, hidden bays and places you would probably never get to experience from land (we even saw dolphins).
The whole crew was professional, welcoming and just created a nice atmosphere throughout the trip.
There’s clearly a lot of effort, experience and heart behind the whole Pirates concept. It was a unique mix of adventure, learning new things and meeting new people which I’d recommend to anyone.

Honestly, this trip changed something in me. Pirates of Paradies made it easy from the start, their website tells you everything you need to know upfront. The seamails were such a sweet touch that made me feel part of something special.
The team is genuinely warm and attentive. Managing 18 people with different wishes and moods, and actually pulling it off, is no small thing. Even when the wind didn’t cooperate, they found the most stunning spots I never would have discovered on my own.
But what I’m taking home more than anything: the courage to step outside my comfort zone, and a bunch of wonderful people I wouldn’t have met otherwise. A thousand thanks for that.

Boot beeindruckend ausgestattet, wer allerdings den Focus auf Segeln und etwas erleben im Urlaub legen möchte, ist aufgrund des Konzepts der very Slow mornings mit frühester Abfahrt gg 11-12h evtl. bei einem anderen Anbieter besser aufgehoben. Insgesamt war für mich die Woche eher durch rumhocken und darauf warten, dass andere Menschen sich zu Entscheidungen durchringen geprägt. Das Boot war zudem fast nur durch „Crew“ besetzt, die hier kostenlos leben und wenig arbeiten (Ausnahme diejenige, die hauptsächlich rund ums Essen beschäftigt war und die Skipper). Der Focus lag sehr auf Social Media es waren meisten mehr Kameras als Menschen anwesend. Duschen waren theoretisch vorhanden, sollten aber nicht genutzt werden, damit die Bäder nicht nass werden, was in dieser eher kühlen Woche mit nur duschen auf dem Deck doch eher unangenehm war.

Es tut uns leid zu hören, dass die Woche für dich nicht ganz deinen Erwartungen entsprochen hat. Unser Konzept ist tatsächlich bewusst auf Entschleunigung ausgelegt. „Slow Living“ bedeutet für uns, auch mal nichts zu müssen, Zeit für sich zu haben, ein Buch zu lesen, ins Wasser zu springen oder sich einfach treiben zu lassen, vielleicht sogar die „Langeweile” einmal zu genießen, ganz ohne festen Zeitplan oder Druck. Genau das kommunizieren wir auch im Vorfeld sehr klar. Gleichzeitig möchten wir natürlich trotzdem besondere Momente und kleine Abenteuer ermöglichen, z.B. durch unsere Landgänge, unsere cozy Pizza night und spontanen Happenings.
Dass unsere „Slow Mornings“ und späteren Abfahrtszeiten nicht für jeden das Richtige sind, verstehen wir gut. Für Gäste, die stärker auf aktives Segeln fokussiert sind und mehr mit anpacken möchten, sind unsere „Sail & Learn“-Trips tatsächlich besser geeignet.
Zum Thema Crew: Du hast Recht: aktuell ist unser Team größer, da wir zwei Boote betreiben. Die Volunteers leben und arbeiten bei uns im Austausch gegen Unterkunft und Verpflegung. Vieles von ihrer Arbeit passiert im Hintergrund, z. B. Einkäufe, Wäsche, Vorbereitungen und insbesondere die intensiven Reinigungstage am Wochenende wenn wir am Samstag den Bettenwechsel haben. In Wochen mit weniger Gästen kann es natürlich ruhiger wirken, was wir den Volunteers auch bewusst zugestehen und gönnen.
Dass du den Eindruck hattest, der Fokus liege stark auf Social Media, tut uns leid. Uns ist wichtig, die Privatsphäre aller Gäste zu respektieren und wir achten immer darauf, niemanden zu filmen, der das nicht möchte. Gleichzeitig sind wir ein sehr kleines Team und nutzen Social Media aktuell als unseren wichtigsten Kanal. Wir sind auf die organische Reichweite angewiesen, um unsere Trips und Angebote nach außen zu tragen und unsere Reisen sichtbar zu machen, da uns größere Marketingbudgets fehlen. Wir hoffen hier auf dein Verständnis.
Bezüglich der Duschen: Wir befürchten, dass hier möglicherweise ein Missverständnis entstanden ist. Selbstverständlich ist es wichtig, sparsam mit unseren Ressourcen umzugehen. Wir verweigern niemandem die Dusche, sondern bitten lediglich um einen vorsichtigen Umgang mit dem Wasser. In der Regel ist neben der Außendusche zusätzlich eine Dusche im Bad in einer Kabine vorgesehen. Diese muss allerdings danach gut getrocknet werden. Aus praktischen Gründen entscheiden sich viele Gäste dann selbst, draußen auf der Plattform zu duschen. Wir haben aus den selben Gründen immer warmes Wasser, um die Nutzung angenehmer zu gestalten. Es tut uns leid, wenn das missverstanden wurde oder nicht klar kommuniziert war.

We did a transfer from Sardinia to Mallorca, and it was my first time solo travelling on a sailing ship with complete strangers, but pirates of paradise made me feel right at home, facilitating an environment of trust, safety and familiarity we all got to enjoy. We were a group of just 10 people with different levels of experience in sailing (from none to fully skipper trained) and during the week of sail and learn we also had time to take it easy and make the most out of the days and the weather. This was an unforgettable experience, very personal deeply connecting and fully engaging that I will 100% recommend to anybody that dears to create meaningful connections with themselves, the crew and Nature. Thanks for the memories, the hugs, the dance, the food, the conversation and al the love to pirates of paradise.

Sehr schöner Trip im Norden Sardiniens mit toller Landschaft, wundervollen Menschen und gutem Essen. Das Konzept von Pirates macht den Segeltörn sehr komfortabel und zu einem tollen Erlebnis mit sehr viel Liebe zum Detail. Habe mich direkt wohlgefühlt! Das Boot ist mit allem ausgestattet und für alle Wetterlagen gewappnet.
