I’ve never really been a gym person, so starting PT was pretty out my comfort zone, but Pioneer Performance was brilliant from start to finish.
I lost 10kg in 3 months while still balancing work, social plans and generally trying to enjoy life, which has always been one of my biggest struggles in the past.
Tamara was brilliant throughout - really encouraging, kept me accountable without making it feel too intense, and massively helping my confidence in the gym. Most importantly, she pushed me to achieve way more than I would’ve done on my own.
The whole vibe is really welcoming and non-judgemental too, which makes such a difference when you’re not naturally a “gym person”. Genuinely would recommend to anyone thinking about starting.
Couldn’t recommend pioneer enough very friendly environment, plenty of machines and free weights all kept clean and in good standard, would also like to say thanks to Tamara who gave me structure and direction with my training and also my nutrition, was always contactable even on weekends when I had questions regarding either nutrition or guidance on workouts, a nice touch as you get your own fob for the door which means you can come and go within the opening times which I have found very useful as I don’t have set working hours, overall if anyone is looking for a PT I wouldn’t look anywhere else other than pioneer
From someone who was nervous about even stepping into a gym, joining Pioneer Performance has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
They pair you with a trainer who supports and works with you every step of the way through any challenges or hurdles you face. I’ve been training with Sean, and he’s been fantastic.
I started 5 months ago, and I’ve noticed not only a huge physical transformation, but a mental one too. It’s become a complete lifestyle change for me, which I love. The health benefits have been amazing as well — I was previously on high blood pressure medication, and now I’m no longer taking it!
I can’t recommend Pioneer Performance enough.
I worked with Sam for about 6 months at Pioneer Performance, and he really laid the groundwork for understanding the basics of training. He's also so passionate about the theory and applications of fitness, and I got to learn a lot. The groundwork has been really helpful for me to continue my training and create my own training plans.
Besides that, Sam really pushed me to do better each time and I was honestly surprised at how much I was able to improve.
The environment is extremely helpful and welcoming, the facilities are excellent, and I would highly recommend this gym!

An Excellent gym run by a group of people that know what they are doing and how to communicate in a way that is easy to understand. Loads of fun training here in safe and a non-judgemental way. I've seen every ability train here so if you are unsure about starting your training journey this is the place to do it.
And on some days you can think it's "bring your dog to gym day". I Just love the place.

I have had a fantastic experience training at Pioneer with Lewis. I only had six weeks of time here in Newcastle but we managed to make great progress and I feel both stronger and more confident in my body, even after such a short period of time. Lewis was a pleasure to work with and I learned so much. The atmosphere at the gym is friendly and it was great to have the guidance, accountability and a solid workout plan and food intake plan that made sense and challenged me just the right amount. Everything is customized and planned taking into account your personal situation, preferences and goals. I highly recommend this gym, couldn't imagine a better experience! Daniel Clubbs is a brilliant personal trainer and I would recommend him to anyone. He helped me understand eating habits, how to get the most out of my workouts, and guided me weekly through the personal training programme tailored around me. He gave me the confidence to attend the gym with a goal in mind.
I think that the thing that sets this gym aside from others is the togetherness of all the personal trainers there. They're always looking out for each other and seeing how they can improve as a unit and even if your personal trainer isn't there when you go to work out, the other personal trainers acknowledge and support you if needed.
I’ve had such positive experience at Pioneer Performance. There’s a really friendly, supportive atmosphere and it feels super welcoming, no matter what your ability is. I often end up chatting to the other coaches when I’m there.
The gym itself is beautiful, spacious and clean. There is a huge range of equipment and plenty of it so there is no waiting to jump on anything. Details like this make a huge difference to creating such a positive experience.
The personal training is excellent and tailored to you and the support from Pro Health Physio is a real bonus.
Overall, it’s a great place to train and I’d highly recommend it to anyone whether you're a regular gym goer or trying for the first time!
I had the best training experience with Lewis. Thanks to him I was able to lose 10kg in 3 months. I learned how to be confident at independently using the gym as well as eating in a way that didn’t restrict what I liked but encouraged healthy habits. Fantastic group of trainers all very helpful, if you’re struggling with conventional gyms and losing motivation then go to these, they help everyone no matter what your goals are wether it be losing weight, getting fitter building confidence they will create a plan specific to you. Nice quiet gym with access whenever suits you and the training sessions are set up for when’s most convenient to you.
Working with Nathan at Pioneer has been amazing. I started wanting to get fit before having a baby and Nathan has been the most amazing coach through highs and lows of pregnancy. He is incredibly understanding and knowledgeable and knows just when to push you and when you need a break. He has also been training my Mam for different goals and manages this so well! Before coming I have never been particularly comfortable in the gym but with Nathan's time and expertise now feel confident to continue strength training for the rest of my pregnancy and beyond. I have gained strength I didn't know was possible and it has been so positive to see the weights go up and to keep moving while pregnant. I'd love to come back once the baby is here to reach new goals. Thank you so much Nathan! I would recommend to anyone looking to learn about health and fitness and start meeting their goals.

Matt was kind enough to listen to everything I had to say and eventually paired me up with Anna.
The best decision I made was to start with her.
Anna was very supportive, goal focused and helped me gain discipline and confidence in workouts and diet management.

I’ve been training at Pioneer for 7 months now and can’t recommend it enough. After living with chronic pain for almost my entire life (aged 26) and getting nowhere with physio and doing things on my own, eventually I decided I needed help from a PT to actually make progress and knew of pioneer because I’d used the physio based there for a sports injury before.
As soon as I went in for my consultation (having also spoken to other places) I knew this was the best. I was worried that there would be too much focus on more regular gym goals like losing fat and aesthetics, but found quickly that they had worked with people in my position before who were less bothered about aesthetics and just wanted to live pain free. Matt was super friendly and really took the time to understand my goal of reducing pain and how this affects me, how it presents and what I had been doing so far in order to match me with a trainer best suited to me.
Matt matched with Lewis as my trainer who has been incredible - he is super encouraging, knowledgeable and motivates me to actually go to the gym. When we started Lewis took great care in assessing where I was at and what exercises I can do safely without causing more pain, where I could push myself and came up with a plan that targeted everything I was struggling with. I come in regularly with different parts of my body hurting and he always knows how to adapt exercises so I can still get the benefits without causing pain, and always has answers as to why things might be hurting and which bits to focus on. I’ve gone from barely being able to lift my shoulders above my head without pain to being able to do a pull up which I never thought would be possible, and my bad pain flares are now much less regular. Lewis is always checking in with me on my training and nutrition, and goes as far to check sleep, hormones and anything else that could be going on in my body which has given me a greater understanding of how these things affect me, and gives me a nudge (kick) when I need it. He’s also just a good laugh which makes such a difference!
Overall had such a great experience and would highly recommend!

Sean my trainer is not just amazing at what he does professionally, his character and personality is suited to the job and has made me feel at ease and excited about something I never truly enjoyed. I joined Pioneer about 3 months ago. Sean was my very first personal trainer, and honestly, he’s set the bar incredibly high and I can’t imagine working with anyone else now. He’s super thorough and is always on top of everything. His weekly check ins kept me consistent even on days I didn’t feel like it. What really stands out is how he’s constantly tweaking my program based on how I’m feeling and improving. Nothing ever feels stale, and I’m making real progress without getting injured.
Plus, whenever I have a random question or need extra advice outside our sessions, he’s super responsive—no matter what time it is.
If you’re thinking about trying a personal trainer for the first time (like I was) I highly recommend Pioneer Fitness!!
I can’t recommend Pioneer Performance highly enough. When I first contacted Pioneer, I had been out of shape for a while and struggling to get back into training.
Nathan has been absolutely fantastic, using his knowledge to create sessions that work around my existing injuries and niggles. He has pushed me to train harder and smarter but also keeping me accountable when it comes to diet.
The changes have been substantial. I feel stronger, fitter, and have more energy when it comes to every day life.
I trained with Pioneer Performance, for about six months, and when I first started, I was new and had little experience in setting the weights for training. Finn, my personal trainer is THE BEST! He made everything feel easy and comfortable from the start, and he was a massage away when I had a question. He helped me a lot with my nutrition too, counting calories wasn’t something I liked, but he showed me simple ways to manage it. The best part in my journey is that every session feels enjoyable, not stressful, and I genuinely enjoyed going to the gym. I am very happy with the result I got in losing weight and gaining muscles, also the knowledge about exercising and nutrition.
I definitely recommend Pioneer Performance!
