It was a pleasure welcoming you and your group to the Pig, and I'm really pleased you enjoyed your table beside the open fire. There's something pretty special about settling into a cosy country pub with a roaring fire, a good meal and great company. 🔥🍷
I especially appreciate your comments about our staff being friendly, efficient and helpful. We have a terrific crew here, and I'm incredibly proud of the way they look after our guests.
And hearing that everyone enjoyed their meals, the servings were generous and the food arrived within 15 minutes is fantastic. I'll certainly pass that feedback on to the kitchen team they'll be very happy with that one! 👨‍🍳👏
As for coming out to thank you when you were leaving, that's one of my favourite parts of running the Pig. I genuinely enjoy meeting our guests, having a chat and making sure they've had a lovely time. To me, that's what good old-fashioned country hospitality is all about.

It was an absolute pleasure welcoming you and the girls to the Pig, and I’m really pleased you enjoyed the food, the atmosphere and especially the hospitality. We always want people to feel like they're walking into their local pub, even if they're visiting us for the very first time.
I'm sorry to hear you didn't feel particularly welcome at some of the other venues during your stay. That's certainly not the experience we'd want anyone visiting our beautiful little part of Victoria to take home with them. Hopefully we helped make up for it a little! 😊
And I actually love your suggestion about a courtesy bus between Trentham and the Pig & Whistle. Being a little country pub out in the paddock is part of our charm, but I completely understand the challenge for visitors staying in town who want to enjoy a few drinks without worrying about getting back safely. It's definitely something worth exploring, particularly as more people discover Trentham for a weekend away.

I’ll definitely make sure Kusun and the kitchen crew see this one. Chefs spend most of their time behind the scenes, so getting a personal shout out for being friendly, welcoming and serving absolutely delicious food will mean a lot to them. 👨‍🍳👏
It’s also great to hear everything was cooked perfectly and came out quickly. Getting both quality and timing right is something the kitchen works incredibly hard on, particularly during busy services.
“Couldn’t fault the service or the food” we can’t ask for much better than that! 😊

Firstly, it’s always great hearing from someone who has visited us many times and I’m particularly pleased the Sri Lankan Chicken Curry blew you away this time. I also have to say, the photo you uploaded of it is an absolute cracker, you’ve made our curry look pretty bloody good! 😂🍛
And thanks for the 4WD hot tip! We get plenty of guests making the country drive out to us from Melton and Bacchus Marsh, so I suspect a few adventurous 4x4 and AWD drivers will appreciate knowing about the Carrols Lane route. As you very wisely put it though: 2WD accessible, but not always 2WD friendly! 😂🚙🌿

And thank you personally for your very kind words about me. For me, looking after the people who work here is every bit as important as looking after the people who walk through the door. If the team are happy, enjoying what they do and genuinely care about our guests, I think you can feel it throughout the whole pub.
That’s really what we want the Pig to be somewhere you can settle in by the fire, spend an afternoon in the beer garden or enjoy the views from the upstairs balcony, and always feel genuinely welcome.
