A return visit to Pheasant Hill. We’ve been a few times now. Pitches are flat, and a decent size with plenty of room for an awning and then an additional grass area, and with the added bonus of a water point close by.
Any questions prior to arrival are responded to very quickly and access instructions sent promptly. The toilet and shower block is spotless, and there’s good washing up facilities.
There’s plenty to do in the area although you are better with a car to get around. Thorp Perrow with the birds of prey centre and the Himalayan Garden are well worth visiting, and there’s plenty of walking in the area and lovely market towns.
Village pub is a few minutes walk away. We didn’t have food there this time but have done in the past and it was good. We travelled a bit farther afield (15 min drive) to the Black Horse at Kirkby Fleatham. It’s well worth the drive. Food was fantastic - pie is worth the wait!
A great little site and we will definately return. Well spaced pitches and spotless toilet/showers. There is a woodland dog walk and a pub within a few mins walk. An ice cream van came in the evening which was a welcome surprise. Hannah is a really friendly host and will sell you jars of farm honey if you message her.
First but definitely not last
So glad we discovered this gem of a site…having watched quite a few YouTubers who have been there. We stayed for 4 nights..not long enough but all we could manage this time but we will be back. Facilities clean and all you need. Pitch 15 gets the sun all day. Hannah such a lovely person and fellow caravanners more than happy to chat and lend a hand if needed 😉. Can highly recommend The Milbank Arms at Well for Sunday lunch and the Chinese takeaway in Bedale. Hopefully be back before the end of the year to catch more jets!!

What can i say its an absolute gem, the facilities are 5* the pitches well spaced, the whole site is immaculate, a lovely little dog walk in the woods joining, there are no negatives in my opinion. Just returned from a fantastic weekend counting down to my next visit, if anyone is thinking of visiting i would highly recommend this site you wont be disappointed
Just spent a few days on the site this was our first time visiting this site and was not disappointed. The site is immaculate and the facilities are first class. There is EHU and water tap for every pitch. There is a pub within 5 mins from site.
Beautiful site
A lovely small site with individual ehu and water supply. Well spread out pitches. Toilet block immaculate and very clean. Very quiet site just the occasional aircraft flying by from local RAF site. Good pub in the village serving very nice food. Hannah the owner is extremely friendly and helpful. Can highly recommend this site 😊
Beautiful well looked after site.
Had a lovely little trip to Pheasant Hill, we had a great time, lovely and clean facilities, site is very well cared for, we enjoyed breakfast at our picnic table watching the cows! Nice short walk to nearest pub, which was dog friendly too. We will definitely be back.
Lovely site!
Visited for 4 nights. Site is well maintained and a good base for visiting local towns. Easy access off the A1. Washroom facilities were spotless and provide I shower and toilet (2 cubicles in the ladies I'm told) 20 pitches so not a problem if you time it right.
Will certainly be back .
Good pub,The Woodman 5 minute walk with good food and beer!
