A real gem. The pitch itself was lovely - hard standing with electricity and water supply. The amenities block was modern and really clean. Even the handsoap in the bathroom smelt lovely! The owners have also created a little area with booklets and ideas of places to explore around the local area. Booking online was super easy. When booking, you get the choice of what pitch number you wanted. This means when you arrive on site you can just rock up to your pitch rather than have to wait to check in and someone show you where it is. It’s great for dogs too as there is a wooded area right next to the site for short dog walks with lots of new smells. The location is in a picturesque village and not far from the bigger towns of Thirsk and Northallerton, and of course the Yorkshire Dales. It’s also a good stopping point if you’re going north along the A1 or want a base. Overall a wonderful small site which has everything we needed. Highly recommend.

Bring your own rooms - but this is an amazing site, real hideaway gem! Well sheltered, exceptionally well laid out to fit 20 caravans or Motorhomes with first class toilets & showers. Beautifully kept pitches, all hardstanding, with plenty of grass for awnings. Good pricing, easy to find & access. Our first visit, won't be our last!

Shush... I really don't want everyone else to find out about this wonderful site. It's very peaceful and relaxing with excellent pristine facilities and large pitches with water and EHU. Only 20 pitches so very friendly atmosphere but the best thing about it are the owners Hannah and Richard. Hannah visits daily to clean the amenities block and always stops to have a quick chat and make sure everything is OK. Her customer service is just amazing. I noticed a previous review that mentioned the RAF planes flying, but rather than being an annoyance we looked forward to seeing them ( only 3 or 4 times a day on two of the 7 days we stayed). They certainly didn't bother us at all. Lovely Sunday lunch at the Woodman Inn 5 minutes walk away and we visted Ripon, Masham, Bedale and other Dales villages all within easy reach. Thank you Hannah and Richard, now that we have found you we'll look forward to many future visits. Pat and the Pork Pie Man 😅😅

Kleine en (meestal, zie onder) rustige camping en alles keurig bijgehouden en schoon. Het terrein is vlak en de plekken zeer ruim. Het sanitair is netjes en schoon. Goed uitgangspunt voor zowel de Dales als de Moors. The Woodman Inn op loopafstand voor een heerlijke maaltijd. De eigenaren leer je niet snel kennen omdat je vooraf betaald en voor aankomst keurige aanwijzingen krijgt via de mail. Maar ze zijn altijd bereikbaar. Minpuntje: Op 5 km afstand ligt de RAF basis Leeming, wat geregeld voor veel lawaai zorgt. Vreemd genoeg lees ik daar niets over op de site of in de reviews. Het kabaal is soms oorverdovend.

Ideal location for touring motorhome when travelling either north or south on the A1

Just recently stayed, it's a great location for going off and exploring (our daughter loves to Geocache and there's plenty around here to hunt and find) Lot's of lovely market towns nearby, nice walks and enough to see and do if you like to explore. The site itself was spotless with friendly people on site would definitely return.

Just came back from a 4 night stay.....could not fault this sight at all,everything about it from pitch size to shower block was superb, will definitely be going again.

A superb small campsite - immaculately maintained - toilet/shower block was in pristine condition every time we used it. Chose this site due to it's closeness to the M1 - and although pretty close we were not at all disturbed with noise. There is a nice wooded area to walk the dog (although they do still need to be kept on a lead) - local pub within 5 mins walk from the site - everything you could wish for. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. We will definitely return.

Small but lovely. Older persons like me love it. Please not the small town next to the site has a school and a pub as well as a post office, but note NO Shop yes it does not have a shop.

Whats not like at this campsite?This site a few miles out of Bedale is exceptional value for money.You have a nice size pitch with your own tap,the cleanliness of the toilet block is amazing .little touches such as little pots of flowers at the wash up sinks,eco washing up liquid are nice. I never mention the wardens/owners however Hannah is someone who just goes the extra mile from a tourist guide to a champion for local business and on our visi loaning us a baby carrier for my daughter who was visiting. So if you haven't been in this site and you have a caravan or motor home why not. Watch out caravan and motorhome club,swith this standard and at this price watch out

Absolutely fantastic site, won't find anything that is better value. Pitches are a good size, toilets and showers are always spotless. The only complaint I have was the weather, but can't blame the owners for that 😂😂 thank you Hannah for a great week, will definitely be back again soon.

One of our favourite sites and 3rd stay here. Pheasant Hill has immaculate facilities, the only site I've been on where I feel the washroom has been cleaned like my own! Spacious pitches, green space for children to play safely and a great wooded area that we use for hide and a seek and a place children can explore with us. Burneston is a lovely village with a nice pub and play park (behind the school) There is so much in this area for families, Trust and Heritage sites, Theme Park, farms amd Birds of Prey centres go name a few There is something in this area for everyone. Hannah is so helpful and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. We like it so much we already have 2 other stays booked! We wouldn't stay on any other site in the area and will continue to recommend this site to others.
