I randomly landed upon Borokhim'Oriental Rugs while scrolling, found one I liked and called. I got lucky. Albert Borokhim answered immefiately. He made me feel safe and connected.He assured me that if i did not like the rugonce I saw it. I could teturn it for no charge. Buying large ticket items on line is a risky these days but Borokhim's Oriental Rugs is a business you can trust for quality and integrity.
We had a really positive experience working with Borokhim’s Rug Gallery in Madison. The team (Albert) was patient and genuinely focused on helping us find the right rug for our home. We initially purchased a different piece, but after seeing it in our space, it just didn’t fit our color palette. They were very accommodating and allowed us to exchange it, which we really appreciated.
During the second visit, they took the time to show us several options and helped us narrow down to a rug that works beautifully in our home. The piece we chose is clearly well-made, with a detailed pattern and solid construction, and it has completely transformed the room.
These rugs are definitely an investment, and while pricing reflects the gallery setting, the level of service, flexibility, and guidance we received made the process feel thoughtful rather than pressured. I ordered a Tabriz rug and it is not only beautiful but it is of exceptional quality. The rug arrived in a few days and it was even more stunning than the photos. I recently purchased two Bijar rugs from Borokhim’s. Albert was generous with his time and his advice, and patient with me as I asked questions to narrow my choices. The rugs were delivered speedily and were even more beautiful in person than they appeared on his site. Could not have been more satisfied with this transaction.
We called Albert from Columbus, Ohio after looking for a good Persian rug for our home. We searched the local area and just were not satisfied with the limited selection that we could find. We looked at Albert's website, and we couldn't believe all the extraordinary rugs that he had in stock. There were so many nice rugs it was very hard to pick one. My wife and I picked 28 rugs that we liked and then had to narrow down the choices. Albert answered all questions that we had about the rugs, sent multiple pictures when requested, and helped us narrow the choices. Eventually we got it down to just three rugs and asked Albert to send them to us so we could see them in person. Albert said he would send us rugs to put in our house, and if we didn't like some or any of them, he would pay shipping to send them back, as well. We really were only looking for one rug. Once we received the 3 rugs, they were so beautiful that we had to keep two of them. Albert was always a gentleman and advised us on which rugs were the better quality, as well as all the details about their origin, materials, style, creation process and more. His prices were more than competitive with other rugs of similar quality. We had shopped several places here in Ohio and in Illinois where we used to live; Albert's prices and selection were by far the best! I bought a rug over the summer from here and it was such a lovely experience. The owners are very kind people and had no problem showing me various items that were both in my price range and matched the design details I wanted. Admittedly, I looked at four different rugs but the first one they pulled out was perfect. I came back about a month later and they remembered me and reminded me multiple times that if I have any issues, I can always call.

I bought a rug for my living room from Albert and his wife about a year ago. Albert is extremely kind, knowledgeable, and prices his rugs extremely fairly. The rug I purchased is definitely the highlight of my living room and guests are always complimenting how beautiful it is. The pictures don’t do it justice.
I will never go anywhere else to purchase rugs! I HIGHLY recommend Borokhim’s Oriental Rugs, and wouldn’t send anyone anywhere else!

Great experience all around. Albert was very kind and worked with my price range of $1,000 while showing some beautiful high quality rugs! After purchase, I recieved a hand written receipt detailing the rugs' origins, designs, and materials used. Overall a great experience and I would highly recommend them.

I give Borokhim's Oriental Rugs a 5-star review. I had an excellent experience with Albert Borokhim, his selection of Persian rugs is impressive. He has traditional rugs as well as modern rugs. He was very patient, helpful, and took the time to explain about the rugs, history, and care instructions. I felt he was very honest and did not pressure me to buy any rugs. He explained the origin of the rugs, the type of materials used, and the exact pricing. Every time I'm at home it's a joy and pleasure to look at my rugs. In the past few years I have put together a nice collection of Persian rugs, I love rugs. I'm happy to have started my first purchase from Borokhim's Oriental Rugs. The owner is very kind and courteous and extremely knowledgeable. His inventory is great, that's why I have so many handmade rugs. If I had more room I would purchase more.

I have bought numerous Oriental rugs from Borokhim's. I have been very pleased with all the rugs I have purchased. I went into the store looking for a soumak, sumac.... runner. The owner asked if I was looking for a sarouk carpet, so I explained to him that no, I was looking for a flat weave carpet with figures and animals from the Caucasus or Turkey, made of wool or wool and silk with loose threads on the back. The owner laughed sort of dismissively. When I asked why he was laughing, he told me he had 1000s of carpets in his inventory and wouldn't know what I was looking for. Then he said something else unhelpful, so I told him Thank You, and that I would be sure to tell all the people I knew how "friendly" he was. His entire demeanor was 100% rude and arrogant, so, obviously, I was being sarcastic!
Wow!!! He followed me out of the store, where my husband was waiting with our granddaughter in her baby carriage, and proceeded to tell me that I was BANNED from his store, that he would take a picture of me for future reference, and that he would SPIT in my face if I ever entered his store again. That's when I mentioned the police and suggested that what he was doing was "borderline harassment".
The incident really upset me. I am still debating if I should contact the authorities.
THE only place to buy a rug. Tremendous owners and beautiful store, not to mention the service. You will get your rug

I have purchased two rugs from Borokims. The first was 6 years ago. I love that first rug more each year. I have been to Turkey twice since then and have looked for rugs as nice as my first purchased here in Madison, Wisconsin. There has not been a rug I have found that is as well made or intricate as those at Borokims. The prices are the same in spite of the government of Turkey supplementing shipping and tax. I purchased a beautiful 9 x 11 rug wool rug at Borokims. It is beautiful. The proprietor and his assistant couldn’t have been more helpful. If I even hesitated about my enthusiasm for a rug, Mr. Borokim said, it’s a no, you must love it. He pointed out he had over a thousand rugs and we should keep looking for the perfect one. I found the perfect rug. It is stunning. It changes the whole look of my humdrum family room. The room now draws attention like never before. This is a wool and cotton rug, with thick nap and so is heavy. The feel under foot is luscious. My first rug is in perfect shape in spite of my cat loving to sleep and sharpen her nails on it for the past 6 years. My wall to wall carpets come and go due to showing my pets wear and tear after just 2-3 years, but the Persian rug I bought 6 years ago is like new. I am assured by Mr. Borokim my new rug will wear as well. After shopping for years for a “better deal” there isn’t one. The quality and price are a steal. I bought rug #994 and the photo just doesn’t do it justice. I’m not much of a decorator and frequently live with “just okay” furnishings but I have no regrets about this rug. It’s a showstopper.
