They should win an award for best financial institution in the city of Austin. Could not be a better place to do business with, they welcome you in as a member and make you feel like part of their family. Everyone from Jan in account services, to Sonia the banker and Katie in loans. This is a unique culture you don’t find often anymore. Everyone is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable.
They offer a "High interest checking" account that looks too good to be true. That's cause it is. They offer 5 TIMES the interest rate as their money market for funds above $15k, but they have a litany of "qualification" requirements clearly designed to trip you up so they can deny you the advertised rate. Very scummy practice. I doubt anyone is actually earning the amount they're advertising.

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience and concerns. We’re truly sorry to hear that our High Interest Checking account left you feeling frustrated — that’s the last impression we want anyone to have. We want to clarify a few points for anyone reading this review. Our High Interest Checking is offered in partnership with Kasasa, a program used by more than 600 community banks and credit unions nationwide. The account is designed to reward everyday banking habits with a higher rate, not to “trip people up” or deny benefits. The monthly qualifications (such as a set number of debit card transactions, online banking activity, and e-statements) are clearly listed at account opening and available anytime through our team or online. When members meet those requirements, they receive the advertised high rate as intended. Many members meet these requirements each month. FYI, 92% of those enrolled in our ATX Flex Rewards Checking accounts qualified for the reward in November. Many members find the account works well once the qualifications are understood, and we’re always happy to walk you through them, help set up reminders, or discuss other options that may better fit your goals. If you’re open to it, please contact us directly at 512-474-1955, or stop by a branch and ask for a manager. At the present time, it does not appear that you are a PECU member. We would love to have you as part of our PECU family. We’d appreciate the opportunity to review your account options with you, answer any questions, and help you get the most value from your PECU membership. Thank you again for your feedback. It helps us improve, and we’re here to help.
I want to personally thank Diana Miller for her superior communication, caring, and expertise while doing business with PECU. I am the Power of Attorney/Agent for my mother's accounts, and I have encountered many hurdles and pitfalls while dealing with other organizations. But Diana helped make PECU the bright spot. My family and I are eternally grateful for Diana.
Immediately as i entered the doors i was greeted with a smile and a good morning my Pamela. I then went to the teller desk for my transaction to also be greeted by smiles and a good morning by both tellers there. I believe their names were Dahlia and Jazelyn. My experience was quick and efficient as well as having a nice polite welcoming conversation. This is by far the most welcome i have felt going into a financial institution ever. I will be back and couldn’t recommend this establishment any quicker to my friends. This is a lovely place.
