I was initially happy with their work, but I am livid with their treatment of my file. Covid had set some things back and I was waiting for a long time. Eventually I started asking what I should be doing, and wasnt getting reliable email replies, even though I knew it was on the last step. But they wouldn’t be clear for some reason, and one day they said my application was being cancelled due to inactivity! On the last step of my pardon they closed my file and said it would cost me $800 to reinstate it!! So basically pay all over again? Why not just NOT close my file, if $800 can reinstate it, then it clearly doesn’t need to be closed. Especially since I had waited far longer than normal with no actions taken, and when they finally did, they stopped answering me and simply said my file was being closed. So I do not have a pardon, I need to begin AGAIN, another year. Why does anyone pay these companies, it’s $50 now to do it yourself, and you do it yourself anyway, regardless of hiring a company. They just submit it for you, you do all the travelling and paperwork, pay them a bubch of money just to take what you do, and mail it for you. Hahaha, no benefit at all!!What a waste of money, I would NOT recommend this company, I feel scammed and misled. I was counting on this being completed and they failed me. I was expected to wait almost a year extra, but when I needed them to just let me give them the last step, they wouldn’t help me and demanded money. No. Way. They just walked away with my money, wasted 2 years and accomplished nothing. No apologies, didn’t listen to me despite my email thread clearly showing their error. Save yourself the money, just do it yourself.
As a recap to ensure we are on the same page, your file was started in February 2023.
We moved through each stage providing you with regular progress updates by email and phone.
We notified you of some delays with the Peterborough court, while escalating our concerns to the Supervisor at that court.
To keep momentum going, we sent instructions in advance, for you to complete Final Steps on Nov. 20, 2023. This required you to sign 2 forms to mail back and sign and deliver a form to police in your local area.
Follow up was conducted by our office on March 4, Sept 18 and Nov 6, 2024, as our database notes and email threads would indicate.
Our Terms are outlined online and were shared with you in writing.
When instructions are not followed after 12 months and a minimum of 3 attempts from our office to assist and encourage the completion of steps, the file becomes inactive.
After 18 months of inactivity, we are required to formally close the file under the Privacy Policy.
That said, we did not close your file and instead continued to follow up with you on Jan. 11, May 1 and July 28, 2025.
We never want to close files with the amount of work it takes to get through each stage and without successfully completing the process.
We work diligently to assist clients who may struggle to complete any steps throughout the process and email communication between our office and you will confirm this.
On March 11, 2026, or 28 months after the instructions to sign the 2 forms and deliver the form to police were still not completed, we were forced to formally close your file.
To further clarify, there were no demands for more money. Rather, we advised that due to the length of inactivity and closure of the file, a new application would be necessary to proceed.
I’m extremely grateful to Pardon Partners for their help with my record removal in Canada. This was something that felt overwhelming to handle on my own, but their team made the entire process clear, structured, and far less stressful.
They were professional, patient, and thorough at every stage, and I always felt that my case was being handled with care and seriousness. Thanks to their expertise, I was able to move forward with confidence and peace of mind. I would not hesitate to recommend Pardon Partners to anyone in need of this type of legal support.
