Breda is hands down the best guide. I had a wonderful experience on the 11 day “Full Irish Tour” in October. Breda was our tour guide and she really made the trip with her commentary and expert driving. She went above and beyond during every aspect of our tour. I would not hesitate to recommend Overland Ireland if you are interested in a small active group tour with people who really care about your experience and are excited to share their country with you.

A wonderful way to experience Ireland in its all its glory! We thoroughly enjoyed our 10-day trip around Ireland. We had a great group and Pat O’Mara was both an excellent guide and driver. Ireland is stunningly beautiful and it was a delight to see and hear from Pat how much he enjoys sharing his home with others. We visited some great landmarks, superb scenery and we really enjoyed the food and the Guinness! We were fortunate to have good weather most of the trip and I would definitely recommend this tour as you really get to see Ireland in all its glory from bustling cities, wild coastal landscapes, to its natural beauty to the many small villages where they welcome you with a smile and a greeting. Pat was patient, funny, obliging and so helpful which added to the pleasure of the tour. On a final note, if he says there’s going to be a pop quiz on the last day, he’s not kidding – which turned out to be a very funny end to our tour. Thank you Pat and Overland Ireland.

Amazing Solo Adventure with a small group I traveled to Ireland, Solo, from 27 Aug - 2 Sep 2025. I don't think I wiped the smile from my face for six days! After traveling 24 hours to get to Dublin, I took a taxi from the Airport to the meeting place and meet the warmest, kindest man, Hugh, our tour guide. I was so excited and the adrenaline kept me going most of the day. My travel journal is filled, daily, with the history, facts and folklore Hugh shared with us along our journey. The coach we rode in was clean, comfortable and had plenty of space for our group of 11. EVERY accommodation we stayed in was amazing! EVERY host was spectacular, EVERY town we travelled through, and the people we met were happy to see us! I loved the intimate side of this tour, being in a small group. Each couple had done different research on what they were hoping to see and do. I loved the flexibility of seeing different sights. As we approached each new town, Hugh drove us through, pointing out great places to eat, drink, listen to music, local artisans, and places to purchase items we had mentioned earlier. Everyday was my favorite! My travel journal is full and took over 1,000 pictures! Every couple I was with was kind, welcoming and inclusive. I felt completely safe in every town being by myself, in every pub I went in and every restaurant I ate at. Locals were just as interested in me and my life as I was of them and their lives. AND I loved the weather and the rain...it was an amazing first visit to Ireland. On my last day, Hugh made sure to catch me on the bus before I headed back to Dublin - I was really touched by that, teared up a bit on the bus. Thank you to Hugh and my 10 other travel buddies for making this experience "magical" for me. Before my tour was over, I already made the determination that I would be back.

Best Way to See Ireland! Ireland is beautiful but the extra was our tour guide Pat O’Mara. He provided so much history & background before each stop to experience that place even more! Pat was personable, funny, helped with our luggage and reserved group dinner reservations for those interested - me, all the time. We saw more than the just the tourist spots - went on local hikes with him. We also greatly enjoyed the 1-2 hour tours with local area experts - all part of the Overland experience. And the size - just 14 of us from all over the world (fun people) was the best! Glad not to be part of the big bus tours who cannot navigate some the narrow roads we went on. The variety of experiences, on the go, was awesome. Travel with Overland - you will love it!

Great 10 day tour Our 10 day Ireland tour was fantastic. The itinerary included a good mix of scheduled, must see Ireland sites as well as off-the-beaten track locations. The accommodations were generally very nice though the rooms in Northern Island were somewhat cramped and hot. Our rooms in Lough Eske Castle, Dingle and Kinsale were first rate. The best part of our tour was our guide Jack. He was extremely knowledgeable of each region visited. It was like traveling with a friend who interspersed historical facts with personal stories and childhood recollections. He was also extremely adept at managing on the fly trip modifications to account for weather and group interests. With Jack’s insight we visited great pubs at each stop and his lunch and dinner recommendations were always spot on. Our favorite sites visited included Giants Causeway, Sheep dog show, Dingle, the walking tours, and the Aran island visit.

Ireland to Island 7 Day Tour - Best Experience Ever My boyfriend and I went on the 7-day Ireland to Island tour at the beginning of September. We had never been on a tour before and had no idea what to expect, but we were blown away by our wonderful tour guide, David, the quality of the activities and experiences Overland arranged, and the wonderful group who accompanied us. We loved exploring multiple castles, the beautiful towns and lovely accommodations + included breakfasts in each location, biking the Aryan Islands, Skellig Michael hike for my boyfriend, kayaking in Killarney National Park, watching an authentic sheep dog demonstration, and the highlight of our tour was getting to see the Cliffs of Moher from both sea and on a hike along the cliff edge traveling to Doolin that was essentially private with no other foot traffic. All of these experiences were made possible by our amazing guide, David. He is the best and most confident driver I have ever encountered, a must on tricky Irish roads. We always felt safe in his care. David is kind, polite, friendly, easy to talk to, and has extensive knowledge of Ireland and all the locations we visited. He gave excellent recommendations for every stop on the tour including food, shopping, and activities. Every time we took his advice, we had a wonderful time. He always did everything in his power to make sure we had the best of the best. During breakfast in Cobh at the beginning of our tour, he noticed that a cruise ship was about to dock nearby and that our next stop at Blarney Castle could soon be over-crowded. He swiftly acted and made sure we got there first! Another night, he gave up his free time after a long day of driving to have dinner with my boyfriend and I after we followed his advice on a restaurant recommendation, and we enjoyed his company and friendship. A final example of David's excellence, in our group, 5 people, including myself, decided not to hike Skellig Michael, and David made sure we also had a great experience and put in extra effort to take us to the Kerry Cliffs for the afternoon, and it was equally if not more beautiful than the Cliffs of Moher. It was these extra efforts that made everything so special! Overland Ireland definitely has the best activities and experiences for small groups, and this was the best trip of our lives, but the heart is in their amazing guides. Thank you, David and Overland Ireland for sharing your home with us! I would recommend David and this tour to anyone wanting to explore Ireland.

Almost perfect experience We host guided tours all over the world and this was our first experience with Overland. We planned a custom trip for our group of 10 people. We had David as our guide and he was a 5-star guide! He was always attentive, supportive, informative and funny! We enjoyed his friendly personality and wonderful stories. He was always available and helpful for any last-minute alterations or adjustments to our plans. Overland main office was easy to work with during the planning process and very accommodating and timely in their communications. We started our planning about a year ahead of time and during that time they had several staff changes and it felt that some of our original requests and ideas for the trip were not clearly communicated between the staff so that by the time the final bookings were made, it had lost some of our original intent from our initial communication with the first representative. We also had a sub-par hotel booked for 2-nights that stood out in stark contrast to the other great ones they booked for us. I think if you are very proactive in communications during the planning process, and follow up with some of your own research, then you will have a great experience with Overland.

The Road Rose to Meet Us!! We both enjoyed the Overland Ireland Emerald Explorer 8-day Tour. The group was just the right size (14 people) so that we quickly got to know each other and didn’t feel we were part of a crowd. Mark, our knowledgeable guide and very capable driver, was amazing. He quickly learned each of our interests and needs and went out of his way to address them, whether it related to golf, hurling or music. His personal stories, humorous anecdotes and passion for Ireland, added to the interesting historical and cultural information he provided. Accommodations were lovely, the sites we went to were varied (some truly awe-inspiring) and there was sufficient free time to further explore the areas we were in. Being fairly active people, but not wanting the full “adventure” option, we were pleased to still have enough opportunity to get out and explore the beautiful sites and towns we stopped at. Kudos to the people at Overland Ireland for putting the Itinerary together and a big “thank you” to Mark.
