Out and About Campers - VW Campervan Conversions & Sales Reviews

EMMA FAULKNER 2026.09.19

I stumbled across Out and About Campers completely by chance, and I’m so glad I did, it was definately meant to be! From the very beginning, Jasmine was amazing, so knowledgeable, friendly and approachable. She took the time to explain the whole process clearly and talked me through all the different options, making everything feel really straightforward. Theo was also fantastic at getting me signed up and helping me decide on the most suitable type of van for me and my family. The whole team have guided me through the process beautifully, from choosing the right van through to the final build. I’m absolutely in love with my new camper, Olive, and couldn’t be happier with how everything has turned out. I’m now looking forward to many years of happy adventures and making some amazing memories. A huge thank you to everyone at Out and About Campers for making the whole experience such a positive and enjoyable one! ❤️🚐

We have recently bought a second hand Sierra day van from Out and About campers and what a brilliant company they have been to deal with! The team have been wonderful to communicate with and super knowledgeable, accommodating and helpful the entire way through the process. We are a family of 4 plus a furry child and this van (Gwen/Guinevere - named by our daughters!) is going to provide us with so many wonderful memories and adventures. We had our first family trip in her to Paris over Easter and she was absolutely brilliant! What has really impressed us however was when we had a battery hiccup (not their fault!) the week before our big first adventure, they took it all in their stride and helped us immediately. No shuffling blame, no time wasting, they just helped us get it sorted and we couldn't be more appreciative of that. It shows how much they actually care about their customers and truly want to help. Anyway - thank you guys so much! We absolutely LOVE Gwen and I have no doubt we will be visiting you again in the future with little requests or if/when we are looking for a change. I will certainly be recommending you to others!

Dear Ryan and Sara,

Thank you so much for such a thoughtful and detailed review!

We’re absolutely delighted to hear how much you and your family are enjoying Gwen. It sounds like she’s already off to an amazing start with your first trip, and we love knowing she’ll be part of many more adventures with your family.

It really means a lot to hear your kind words about our team. We always aim to make the process as smooth and supportive as possible, so we’re especially pleased we could help quickly when the battery issue came up and get you on the road in time for your trip.

Thank you again for your trust, your recommendation and for sharing your experience.

Wishing you many more happy travels in Gwen!

Very professional and helpful staff, they go above and beyond to help, we visited about 4 years ago and wow they have done so well and expanded into surrounding units too. Thank you for all your help 😉

Great company. Nothing is too much trouble. Good workshop facilities and good build quality which is better than many we looked at. We have taken delivery of Ford Hybrid which is proving to be better than the new T7.

OAAC converted our T6.1 LWB transporter a year ago. We choose to use OAAC as we were really impressed with their camper designs. We particularly loved the bamboo work surfaces and attention to detail with the kitchen and storage features of the conversions, along with the light airy space created in their Apline Tourer conversion. We included quite a few extras that they offer, which allowed us to ensure our camper worked for how we wanted to use it. The team carefully listened to what we wanted from the van for our lifestyle. We've had a few things that needed rectifying under their two-year guarantee. These were never quibbled with and we always found the team responded quickly when we contact them. You hear so many stories of companies washing their hands of customers when issues arise: OAAC couldn't be further from this, with their great attitude to customer satisfaction. If I was getting another van converted, I'd definitely go back to Out and About Campers.

Called to make an enquiry, lady I spoke to on the phone was quite abrupt, borderline rude. Was planning to potentially spend quite a fair bit of money with the right company, but after this interaction I’ll take my business elsewhere. Big red flag in my opinion.

Dear Adam,
We're really sorry to hear about your experience when you called, it's not how we want anyone to feel when they get in touch with us. We do our best to be friendly and helpful - it’s very disappointing to know we fell short this time. If you’d be willing, we’d really value the chance to speak with you again or have you pop in for a chat and workshop tour to show you what we're really about.
Best wishes,
The OAAC Team

I had my campervan built by Out and About Campers nearly four years ago. They delivered superb service, listening and discussing my needs, to ensure that I had the campervan of my dreams and within my budget. I have visited a few times since and most recently to investigate my leisure battery failing. Their after service is as friendly, welcoming and thorough as their sales and I have been grateful to receive this continued support when needed.

It’s been a year since we collected our conversion from OAAC and still 100% happy with our choice. It’s been put through its paces as a family van and has proved to be everything that we hoped it would be. Most conversions that we’d previously hired/viewed had been dark inside with black/dark grey linings and interiors. We wanted a home from home and the warm colours and bamboo work surfaces that OAAC offer delivered exactly that. The reupholstered seats were a fantastic addition from Bob next door. The team were great from start to finish, offering ideas, guidance and updates throughout the process. A couple of minor issues (LED striplight coming loose) were quickly fixed. Another great feature of OAAC is the annual habitation check, where the van gets checked over for function and faults, which then extends the conversion warranty for a second year. Would happily recommend to anyone looking for a top quality van conversion.

Back into see the team to get a replacement solar panel. Top service as ever. You enter and buy a camper van from them and you leave with more than a van, you leave with new friendships. I still have that same feeling nearly three years later, cannot recommend more highly.

I’d like to say a massive thank you to the staff at Out and About Campers. They were so very helpful, not pushing for the sale. Very informative and Theo who was dealing with me was so knowledgeable and nothing was a problem. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking to start their next adventure.

I couldn’t be happier with my campervan conversion! OAAC’s designs really stood out from all the others - modern, functional, stylish, and full of character. I loved the range of colours to choose from. The upholstery is brilliant - both in look and comfort - and every detail of the build reflects top-notch quality. The staff were fantastic throughout the process: always friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to help with even the smallest questions. It’s rare to find this combination of style, craftsmanship, and service. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend OAAC to anyone looking for a high-quality conversion that’s a real head-turner.

From our very first visit to OAC to the day we collected our converted camper van, both Jasmine and Theo have been really helpful, carefully explaining all the options thoroughly. They are clearly passionate about the company and their knowledge is excellent in all aspects of the conversion process. We are so happy with our conversion and have just returned from our first weekend trip where it was much admired. An exemplary service - thank you!

I cannot recommend Out and About Campers enough, fantastic people to deal with, very innovative, great quality workmanship, kept me informed right the way through my conversion which I collected on Thursday 17th April, it was built on time to a very high standard. Thank you to Dan and his team, Jasmin, Josh and Theo, top company and would thoroughly recommend them to anyone. Will be using them again as my camper evolves for additional bits like solar panel etc.
