Its been almost 3 weeks (on the 18th) since out home inspection. We still haven't received the report after numerous excuses.When i messaged Eric after 4 days, he said it was done and he would send it that night. He didnt. After almost 2 weeks and many unanswered emails (on september 30th)I told them i would be positing a negitive review if i didnt recieve it, by 8 pm
Thats when i got a reply. Chantal said eric was in serious condition in the hospital, and the report was done(she stated she remembered helping with it). She said she wouldnt be able to make the 8 pm deadline. I told her just to send it to me the next day when she could.
Two days later (October 2nd) she said that our report was archived. I would of apriciated a email notifying me right away. She couldnt retrieved it. She was getting their tech guy to get it. She also offered a home maintenance guide for free for the trouble. Usually a 295 fee.
On October 4th this is the message I received from Eric (from chantals email?)
"Sven has been working on pulling your file from the archive tape, and it looks like he finally has it pulled and it's being uploaded to the server as we speak. I'm heading out for the day for my son's leukemia treatment, but I'll stop at the office tonight and send it to you."
3 days and I still haven't received it. I'm starting to think that the excuses they are giving me are not even true. We close on our house in 7 days, have had to go without an inspection report as we are in a rush to vacate out current housing (this was also told to Eric at the inspection. He said it should be done and sent by the monday).He seemed like a good guy during the process, but now we just want our money back.
Nothing short of 5 stars. Eric conducted our inspection on a large house in Orleans and a couple of things stood out. The inspection was methodical and accurate, even the smallest things were checked. He was very thorough throughout the whole house and outside. Eric was open to questions posed and gave detailed explanations. I definitely recommend this inspector for anyone looking for a house inspection done right. NZ.

On February 8/24 we had a home inspection done that was very poorly performed. I could not attend because I lived in Kingston and my wife had the car for work. ( 1 ) We were told by Eric he tried a electrical plug in every room and all was well. All was not well because the bathroom doesn't even have a plug. ( 2 ) The temperature of the hot water coming out of the taps is 150 degrees f . This could have scalded a person. ( 3 ) The furnace filter was completely plugged. The cavity the furnace is in was completely covethered with lint and dust. I had to take the byfold door off to get the filter out. Then I moved the door back to get the filter out and chahge it. ( 4 ) We were told that under the mobile home couldn't be checked because of the snow. We'll the entrance for under the home is in the 3 sided carport where was no snow. ( 5 ) There was no working smoke detectors. The 1st night we stayed the smoke detector was saying fire evacuate ( 6 ) the second smoke detector had no battery. ( 7 ) There were no GFI PLUGS inside or outside. ( 8 ) The bathroom sink was plugged. ( 9 ) The kitchen sink tap was leaking on the back. You could see there was extra caulking put there to stop the water from running under the counter top. ( 10 ) The dryer vent was plugged. (11 ) Some of the windows wouldn't close after opening because because one of the arms kept coming off the pin. ( 12 ) I should get our $600.00 back if not more. Y

Eric is the only home inspector I've dealt with and will be the only home inspector I deal with if I ever sell my current home. He helped me avoid an absolute money pit that I had my heart set on, and, although it was disappointing, I am very grateful that he caught the foundation issues and the vermiculite in the attic before I shelled out 400,000 for a house that would have been a disaster. I am happy to say he inspected the house I ended up buying and I have had no surprises. This is not a side business for Eric, this is his profession, and his experience and education make him one of the best in the industry.

Eric was very responsive when I reached out. The communication was efficient throughout the entire process. He showed up on time for the inspection and took his time to conduct a thorough inspection and discuss any issues or questions we had. His report was very detailed and extensive which explains why it takes some time to produce. It was still delivered on time. Eric makes it clear that he is happy to answers questions “post inspection” which is huge as there is usually a lot of information to digest during the inspection.

We were extremely pleased with the quality and thoroughness of a recent home inspection conducted by Eric Parent. Eric took the time to go through our new home from top to bottom, explaining everything he observed in intricate detail. Eric explained his observations very clearly, including why he was noting them, the impact and severity, possible options to remedy issues and added his recommendations. This was repeated throughout the entire inspection process that he spent over 3 hours to carry out, and resulted in an amazingly detailed report that is over 40 pages with pictures and schematics detailing exactly what was observed and recommended solutions. The report also included a quick checklist that is helpful for insurance purposes. I would recommend Parent Inspections Inc. to any potential buyer.
