Being a south indian, the food was fantastic. I got a mutton biriyani, nothing to say just WOW. The meat was tender and flavourful. I wish they don’t change anything, please keep it like this. Hats off to who made the biriyani. Quantity and price was also good.
I wish i was living in Alberta, i would have came here everyday. I ordered a cardamom Tea also, that was also perfect.I will definitely come again.
This was our second visit to Olive South Indian Cuisine, and once again it was absolutely fabulous! We are from Red Deer and have tried dosa at many places here as well as at several restaurants in Edmonton and Calgary, but honestly, nothing compares to the dosa from this restaurant. The taste, freshness, and quality are just amazing every single time.
We loved everything about our experience, and this place has definitely become our favorite spot for authentic South Indian food. Customer service of this restaurant is amazing. We will keep coming back again and again. Highly recommended to anyone who loves good dosa! 😊😊

Had an amazing dining experience at Olive South Indian Cuisine today with family. The food was absolutely delicious and felt very authentic, especially for anyone who loves Kerala-style cuisine.
The Kerala fish pollichathu was outstanding — perfectly cooked, flavorful, and wrapped beautifully with traditional spices. The chemeen roast was rich and full of authentic Kerala taste. We also tried the Thalassery biryani, and it was one of the best biryanis we’ve had in Canada — aromatic, flavorful, and perfectly balanced.
The service was warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere was very family-friendly. You can really tell they put effort into maintaining authentic South Indian and Kerala flavors.
Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for genuine Kerala food in Calgary. Will definitely visit again!
Terrible experience! My friends warned me this place was awful, and I regret not listening. Sticky tables, dirty atmosphere and incredibly rude service. The waitress on May 17 ignored us, was rude the entire time, and could barely communicate in English properly. Complete waste of money!
One of the best South Indian places I’ve been to in Calgary. The food is always tasty with lots of options to choose from, and the quality has been consistent every time I visited.
I’ve both dined in here and recently hosted a party, and honestly both experiences were really good. What I liked the most is that they have a fully private event space, which is hard to find at many places in Calgary. They also have separate washrooms, plenty of space for guests, and the whole setup felt very comfortable and convenient.
Their event packages are very reasonable and can be customized based on what you need, which made the whole process stress-free for us. The staff were friendly, helpful, and everything was handled smoothly from start to finish.
Definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for good South Indian food or a budget-friendly venue to host family events, birthday parties, or gatherings without any hassle.
