Un auténtico rincón de España en el corazón de Bath. Precioso bar de tapas situado en un primer piso en la hermosa ciudad de Bath. La atención fue fabtastica desde que entramos hasta que nos fuimos. Y la comida… mejor incluso que en muchos lugares de España. Recomiendo el pollo asado, el chorizo criollo y las patatas bravas, bien picantes pero sabrosas. Las berengeneas y las espinacas con garbanzos también son una muy buena opción. Buen ambiente, buena música, buen servicio, y la mejor comida española que he probado en Bath. Que más se puede pedir?

We arrived to be told there was a problem.the kitchen was closed. They had contacted us twice during the day to confirm and then less than 2 hours before our booking with a stupid flamanco dancer emoji. But apparently could not let us know there was no food. And not so much as a complimentary drink to apologise and the server was very offhand.

Extremely disappointing & staff unresponsive regarding our concerns
I was so disappointed with my recent visit to Olé Tapas as I have been going for years and wanted to share the place with my colleagues. What made it worse was the lack of response from the waitress. A critic from the Telegraph had included the restaurant in his top 21 restaurants in the city and mentioned the pulpo specifically. I love pulpo and was in Galicia in October. Olé's pulpo was overcooked so it was chewy and the chef had been very heavy handed with the salt and the paprika perhaps to disguise that. I made a comment to the waitress who said and did nothing about it. Worse still they had boquerones on the menu which are fresh anchovies, a delicious dish that can be so refreshing but instead they served us salted anchovies from a tin or a jar which is not the same at all. To add insult to injury the waitress included a 12.5% service charge to the bill! Perhaps Olé is living off its reputation and feels it does not have to make any effort any more. It is worth noting that the last time we went out for a meal in Bath we went to Pintxo and my guests thought the food was better there.

Disappointing
Let me start by saying - we LOVE this place! The staff are great, the atmosphere is fab and the food amazing. We have been regular customers for years. So we are sad to say that last night was really disappointing. We had a message to say our table was booked for one hour. This does not work, it just isn’t long enough. We were seated late. (Probably because the couple before us were rushed too) We were advised that a couple of the dishes we chose would take 25 minutes. Although the food was delicious- for the first time we had to return a couple of dishes as they were undercooked or cold. A sign I think, that food was rushed out o us. After 40 minutes we were told we had 15 minutes left before they wanted the table back - we were still eating….. We would have liked another drink each and perhaps dessert but we didn’t want to move to the bar to finish - which was already full of others waiting for their table. Ole, please do not become a victim of your own success. One hour to enjoy the lovely vibe of the restaurant, the food and atmosphere is just not long enough. We spent £140 in 50 minutes and we will think twice about returning, which is a real shame.
Soy de España , vivo en UK hace 12 años , he probado muchos restaurantes españoles y debo decir que anoche en Olé restaurante, ha sido la primera vez que pruebo verdaderos sabores de España, desde el pan con alioli hasta las gambas al ajillo, todo realmente delicioso y auténtico sabor ibérico. El personal super amable y simpático, y la cocinera un 10! Recomendado al 100% , agradable sorpresa encontrar un rinconcito de España , en medio de Bath.
I highly recommend Ole Tapas to everyone! We were extremely happy with everything. The food is absolutely delicious — real, high-quality Spanish cuisine. The atmosphere is amazing, with lovely Spanish music, and the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. They make you feel truly welcome.
It’s also a pet-friendly place, which we really appreciate. We can’t wait to go back! It’s an incredible little spot, and I genuinely recommend it to everyone.
Ole Tapas is one of my favorite Spanish restaurants in the UK. Every time we visit Bath, we make sure we make atleast one trip to this place. Their bread and patatas bravas are the highlights for me every time but it’s the red wine sangria that’s their crown jewel. The service is so good always and they’re so friendly. Definitely recommend a date night here if you’re in town!

Great little tapas bar.
Ole Tapas Bar is an absolute gem. The staff are incredibly friendly and genuinely helpful, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere from the moment you walk in. The food is outstanding—full of authentic flavors and beautifully prepared. Close your eyes while tasting their dishes and you could easily imagine yourself sitting in a bustling tapas bar in Spain. A fantastic spot for anyone craving great Spanish cuisine and a relaxed, inviting experience. Highly recommended!
Insane prices for very small portions:
Went with my boyfriend on a Tuesday night in November and it was the first time we came to Bath (we are both students). The place had good reviews so we decided to give a shot. Quality of food is good but the food is EXTREMELY OVERPRICED for the amount of food we got. Portions are extremely small. The taster plate had the equivalent of 1 slice of ham for 7 pounds. The prawns tapa was 12 pound for five very small prawns. The place is very small and kind of cramped. So I’m not sure how these prices are justified. I didn’t want to ruin my trip so I didn’t complain but it’s not cool at all.
Nevertheless, if you don’t mind paying insane prices for small portions or if you want to come here for a special occasion, I guess it’s fine. But I would not come here again unless they change the portion sizes. It’s kind of sad because the quality of food is good. But I felt like was being scammed. We paid 72 pounds (including drinks) and were still hungry afterwards.
The food here is genuinely tasty — we particularly enjoyed the berenjenas and the chorizo al vino. However, our experience was let down by the service. We ordered four dishes to start but only received two. After prompting, we eventually got one of the missing dishes, but the fourth never arrived — and was still included on the bill until I mentioned it. Our second round of dishes took a long time to arrive, and whilst we were told one of the dishes was the reason for the delay, I see no reason the others (particularly the pan con alioli) couldn’t have been served in the meantime. It made the meal feel disjointed and slow. By the time we finished our second round of orders, 90 minutes had passed and we decided to call it a night. It was also disappointing that there was no acknowledgement of my partner’s birthday, despite mentioning it on the booking reservation. Overall, good food, but the service on the night left a lot to be desired — which took away from what could have been a great meal.
Been going here for years! Tonight was the best yet! Every single dish was done to perfection! From the freshly baked bread with garlic mayo, to the octopus, deep fried baby squid and tortilla, All was done superbly. I’ve owned a property in Spain for 27years- and this is the most authentic cool cozy hidden gem of a Tapas dive outside Spain itself! Trust me! Marcella is the consummate host!
Miss this tucked away gem at your peril!
