I highly recommend Old Town Electric! Their service and expertise throughout the entire process of upgrading my electrical panel and installing an EV charger were truly exceptional.
From the moment I sent my initial request through SMUD, I received a quick response, and their communication remained consistently excellent. Old Town Electric's knowledge of the SMUD rebate programs was outstanding. They provided clear guidance on the EV charger rebate qualifications and, most impressively, proactively helped me uncover a $2,000 SMUD rebate I qualified for due to a prior heat pump installation. They were flexible in handling the rebate, offering to deduct it from the upfront cost, which was my preference.
When a major hurdle arose with SMUD requiring a disconnect box on my neighbor's property that was refused, Old Town Electric demonstrated incredible dedication. They recognized the situation "doesn't make much sense" and committed to coordinating with SMUD to find a solution. Their persistence was absolutely amazing and paid off when they secured approval to install the panel in a different location that would no longer be on my neighbor’s property.
They kept me consistently updated on the project's progress, including digging, pre-construction meetings, and final scheduling for the panel and EV charger installation. The work involved complex tasks such as cutting concrete, digging a trench, and installing new boxes and conduit. The completed work looks great! They made sure to leave any affected areas, including where they had to cut concrete and dig ditches, as close to the original condition as possible, and everything looks great. I am extremely grateful for everything they've put into this and cannot thank them enough for their dedication to seeing this complex project through.
