Captain Wayne is fantastic! A true gentleman, expert angler and teacher. We fished in 100 degree heat and caught 40+ fish in 3 hours. Great experience, I plan to book Captain Wayne again the next time I’m in town.

My family and I had an amazing time! Live bait fishing made is feel as if we were in a tournament. So many hits back to back. Wayne was phenomenal! His sweet wife sent us some pumpkin bread and it was scrumptious! We enjoyed ourselves so much!! We will definitely book again.

My son and I had a great time with Captain Wayne on the lake this morning! My wife gave this trip to us as a Christmas present. Captain Wayne is great with kids and conditions were perfect for catching lots of fish today. We had to reschedule a couple of times because of weather and Captain Wayne was very accommodating and helpful in picking a great day on the lake. Highly recommend Oconee on the Fly with Wayne!

Had an amazing time out on the water with Oconee on the Fly! Captain Wayne is a lot of fun and clearly has a passion for fishing. He’s incredibly knowledgeable about the fishing in the area and there was no shortage of laughter during our day. He went to great lengths to get everything prepped in advance so that we could fish within 10 minutes of our charter. If you’re looking for a fun-filled day of fishing, I highly recommend Oconee on the Fly!

Had a fantastic day with Oconee on The Fly! Wayne put us on some nice sized hybrid early and often. We had 4 people fishing and he did a great job of keeping us all catching fish. The bite tailed off after early morning but we had a great time and could not have asked for a better experience. Will definitely use Oconee on The Fly again in the future and will definitely be looking to take the kids out on a trip with Wayne. He has an amazing amount of knowledge but also the personality and skill to make it a memorable trip for the little ones! Thanks Wayne!
Wayne took my son (11), his friend (11) and I out for a morning fishing trip this spring (2023). He was awesome! The boat was perfect (clean and well kept) and stocked with everything you could need (live bait, life jackets etc...). We brought our own poles but Wayne is ready with dozens of his own. He was not only extremely knowledgeable about fishing and the lake but was also super interactive, teaching along the way. If I could give him 6 stars I would. The most telling part was that my son and his friend had an amazing time. I would recommend Wayne to anyone looking for a friendly, knowledgeable and seasoned fishing guide. As an aside, Wayne also made several suggestions to make our stay on Lake Oconee easier and more enjoyable. For example, he suggested which hotel we stay at and subsequently picked up us at the dock out back.
We'll being seeing Wayne again in the fall.

Wayne was a great fishing guide! My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and decided to book Oconee on the Fly after reading all of the positive reviews.
The experience did not disappoint. We felt very safe with Wayne and learned a lot from him. We were staying at the Ritz Carlton and he conveniently picked us up at the dock of the hotel. Everything was taken care of, and all we had to do was show up- which made the experience very smooth and care free. As a special touch, his wife also made us some delicious pumpkin bread for us to enjoy while we were on the boat. Not to mention, we caught plenty of fish and had a great time overall. I highly recommend Oconee on the Fly!

Wayne was so kind, patient and knowledgeable during our half day fishing trip! We had such a wonderful time learning about the lake and Wayne took his time taking us to different lake locations ensuring we had plenty of opportunity to catch big fish! Everything was provided for our trip and we just had to show up! Thank you Wayne!
Spent MDW on Lake Oconee and took my family on a half day fishing excursion. Captain Wayne was prompt, had a great attitude, was patient with my children (9 and 7) and followed the birds to take us to the perfect spots to cast & catch. And catch we did! We caught a ton of hybrid and striped bass along with yellow & blue catfish. It really was an excellent morning on the water. Wayne truly enjoys fishing and had a laid back personality, smiled the whole time & got really excited, along with my kids, any time the fish were biting. We could not have asked for a better Captain! His wife also so sweetly packed him a cooler full of waters, sandwiches and banana bread for us; it was genuinely so kind…and delicious! Highly recommend Oconee On The Fly, you won’t be disappointed!!! We’ll be back & Wayne will be the first person I call for another day trip.
Wayne does a great job finding and following the bite on Lake Oconee, and he is focused on putting his clients on fish. He was also very patient, informative, and kind to my twelve year old son, and we would strongly recommend him for trips with children or families. The communication was excellent leading up to our trip and we caught a few different species of fish with the shad he had worked to net early that morning. Overall, a very good day on the water and highly recommended. Thanks Wayne!
Great day on the water with Wayne. Wayne is a wonderful person who worked with my wife to surprise me with a day fly fishing for stripers with on lake Oconee. We had a great day on the water and caught plenty of beautiful stripers and hybrids. More importantly Wayne opened my eyes to a new type of fly fishing. After my day with Wayne I feel confident in my big water casting with an eight weight. His Scott rods are top notch and Wayne is an excellent and knowledgeable instructor/guide. Can’t wait for next year!!!
Took my dad and daughter. Wayne provided an exceptional day! Wayne is knowledgeable and good company.My dad is 86 and has been fishing for 87 years... I heard him say something to Wayne about a technique I have never heard before... "I didn't know that"! My daughter Kylie is disabled and Wayne made the day about her.
Some buddies and I had the opportunity to fish with Wayne a couple months ago. He had unmatched enthusiasm, a wealth of knowledge, and a extremely friendly personality. Although I had little trouble getting on fish with a fly rod, Wayne was incredibly patient with those who needed a little more guidance. His teaching was solid and he was adamant about folks learning techniques the correct way. One excellent quality about Wayne was that he was quick to mention his colleagues and friends who run similar businesses as a nod to their expertise. He has an obvious passion for guiding and fishing! I would highly recommend Wayne to anyone with any skill level in fly fishing (or conventional fishing), and will be fishing with him again soon.
