My dad has been visiting the lodge for over 20 years. This was my first time making the trip. I now understand why he keeps coming back year after year. We had a great 3 days of fishing for walleye (got some smallmouth, catfish, and northern mixed in). After catching our limits every day with Rick, we enjoyed great dinners at the lodge. The view from the deck is a welcomed relief from the suburbs. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!
My family and I just finished a 2 day, 3 night fishing trip with Wings and Walleyes. What a great experience! We hit our limit for walleyes each day and our guides (Ben and Hunter) were amazing. Ben and Hunter know the waters like the back of their hands and worked hard to put us on the fish. According to them, the bite was a little slow, but I thought the action was fairly steady. We caught quite a few perch and small mouth bass in addition to our walleyes. Ben and Hunter took time to help out my younger nephews and give them good tips. They were knowledgeable, laid back, and had a good sense of humor. I was a tad skeptical of fishing off a pontoon, but was impressed and actually think I prefer it after our experience. It was nice to move around and stand up to stretch.
The lodge was also awesome and the hospitality was amazing. Shonda is a great cook and we were never hungry. Breakfast was delicious and the dinners were spectacular! We had steaks the first night and a fish fry the second night. We all went home with our walleye limit sealed and packaged as well as our perch and small mouths. Everyone in our group was impressed. Will definitely come back and would recommend to others. Also thinking about trying some pheasant hunting!
Had a great weekend ice fishing and staying with Oahe Wings & Walleye. Hunter was a great guide who put in a lot of work to get us on fish. Shonda lived up to her reputation as a great cook and host. The lodge was comfortable and easy to find and access. Already looking forward to another trip next ice season!
My boys and I went on a combo fish and hunt trip at Oahe Wings & Walleyes last week. Our experience was way beyond expectation. Four walleyes between 28 and 29.5 in some tough conditions. Personal bests for us. Buckley and Kent put us on 'em. Dale and three great dogs (Capone, Kaiser, and Roscoe) joined us for pheasant hunting. Plenty of birds and they tolerated our many misses graciously. Hosts Shonda and Chad fed and treated us like kings. Thank you for the trip of a lifetime. We can't wait to come back!
Accommodations were magnificent. Shondra was an excellent owner/hostess & tremendous cook.
Ask for Buckley to be your guide because he is amazing.

We had the most wonderful time. Hospitality was a 10 plus . The fishing was wonderful as was our guide Beau. Our room was great a you can’t miss out on Shonda’s amazing cooking . Our total experience was amazing. We will be back an we have passed our experience on to others.

Chad and Shonda have built an amazing lodge that is fun, comfortable and well appointed for the sportsman. Easy to deal with, very accommodating and excellent home cooking.
Captain Rick and Jeanie were funny, engaging and put us on the Walleyes both days where we caught our limit. If your planning a fishing or pheasant hunt in South Dakota, you will have a great experience with this family business.
My friend and I just wrapped up a Walleye adventure with Oahe Wings and Walleyes and it was GREAT! He came from OR and I flew from VT to meet in the middle, and see what SD was all about. The lodge was clean and bright and the owners (Shonda and Chad) are friendly and super-hardworking. Their daughter Sam even made dinner one night and its was impressive all around (Big Steaks, salad, cheesy garlic bread and of COURSE, Kuchen to wrap it all up!) Our guide, Rick, not only got us our limit both days, but brought us out for a rare treat... to see a heard of wild Bison on the shore. I'm only giving 5 stars because 10 isn't an option. Go see the Schilling family and the peaceful town of Akaska, nearby. You wont regret it.

We have stayed with and fished with company for many years. Outstanding meals and lodging. The fishing is always enjoyable in the very comfortable tri toon pontoons. Guides Chad, Buckley, Beau and Ben work hard to put you on fish and, once you’ve caught your fish, will try to find the buffalo if you want to see them. We can’t recommend them more highly!
