I came across NovaCare Consultants after spending hours searching for Mental Health and Community Care solicitors with expertise in Section 117 Aftercare.
One evening in November 2025, I called them, and Gary Spencer‑Humphrey answered the phone.

I needed a registered professional to complete a PA14 form for me to send to Probate as my sister does not have capacity to be part of the process on behalf of our mum who passed away. Stephen who works for Nova Care traveled from Liverpool to my sisters care home and as he is an approved mental health professional and registered social worker he completed the PA14 form and posted it to me in just over a week. Very impressed by the standard of contents.the conversations in person and by email prior to the visit. I was referred to Nova Care Consultants by the family solicitor in relation to undertaking a Testamentary Capacity assessment and act a Professional Witness for my father who has been diagnosed with Dementia.
I dealt with Gary Spencer-Humphery who liaised with me and explained the process.
He organised to visit a convenient time for the family and was readily available to provide an appointment at the weekends. As a full time working professional this was of great ease so that I could be present.
My father and I found Gary to be polite, engaging and approachable. He conducted the assessment and was good at putting him at ease.

Gary at Nova Care was introduced to me by my Solicitor. My husband has suffered from Colon Cancer, given a surgery date and then suddenly suffered 2 strokes, 2 seizures and countless infections. His surgery was cancelled and his care since in hospital has not been consistent. We have been advised to find him a 24/7 Nursing Home. Gary has been very helpful with his advice. Helping us as a family to find a way through the maze of social workers and future care. For that we thank him.

My Mother is buying a house to be nearer to us but as she lives 3 hours away when she met our local solicitor she was tired and disorientated. The solicitor was concerned as to her capability to purchase. A few weeks later the solicitor wanted to see my Mother again. Rather than making her travel so far, the solicitor was able to accept a capacity report.
Gary was recommended by a local solicitor. He has always been very responsive to emails and calls, very personable on the phone, and able to attended my Mother at home where she was more comfortable.
The report was issued quickly to meet our timelines.
I highly recommend him.

Gary was recommended by our solicitor for a testamentary capacity report, for a new will after my husband’s stroke. We made a quick appointment with him, very easily over the telephone. He arrived on time and was friendly, personable and professional. Nothing was rushed and although it was an assessment, it didn’t come across as ‘clinical’ at all. It was more like a friendly conversation, whilst he made notes - all very relaxed. We felt it was very good value for money, considering the time and work involved. The report was extremely comprehensive and we feel it will be very useful, should it be needed. We would certainly recommend Gary to anyone needing his form of expertise. Money well spent.
