I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Aaron and the staff at North Jersey Veterinary Hospital. They were so caring and helpful and took extra time with my fearful dog. By the end of the appointment my dog Joey was kissing her face. Dr. Aaron and her vet tech sat on the floor to make my dog feel more relaxed and the exam went so smoothly. Best vet experience my dog has ever had. Dr. Aaron also examined my cat Lola and was great with her as well.
I recently took my cat Ziggy to North Jersey Veterinary Hospital for an annual exam and a dental cleaning.
Firstly, I love that they have you wait in your car and text when it's your turn, instead of having you wait in a room full of stressed out pets.
From making the appointment, to the two visits - everyone there was kind, friendly, and easy to work with. The vet tech and Dr. Mattur went over my concerns and recommendations for Ziggy and explained the dental cleaning process so that I was comfortable with it and knew what to expect.
Dr. Mattur also called me after the cleaning to let me know how things went and what to expect/how to care for Ziggy during her recovery. Dr. Mattur has a great bedside manner which is especially helpful as our pets age and visits can become more complicated.
The office is also very communicative via the portal, in-person, and phone with all the info needed regarding after-care, checking in on your pet, etc. They were also very easy to work with in terms of pet insurance - this was my first time having and using it and they got the carrier everything they needed quickly to approve my claims.
Also - the price for the dental cleaning (including 3 extractions) ended up being much less than a couple of quotes I had gotten from local vets, making the visits well worth the 30 minute drive.
If you're looking for a new vet, I would recommend Dr. Mattur and North Jersey Veterinary Hospital.
I had a very pleasant experience for my first visit with my dog Jackson.
After having a very frustrating time trying to help my dog with his allergies . The Staff at North Jersey hospital were a relief and sign of hope for Jackson.
After many Attempts only North Jersey hospital offered a Fear free exam to help give relief to Jackson.
And he is very happy dog because of the effort .
This is the first time our little pug girl walked into a vet office with no brakes on !
The staff here are exceptional and Dr Aaron OMG !!! She’s the best vet that I’ve ever met ! Her approach and her tenderness towards the dogs are like nothing that I’ve ever seen. My pug and I would reccomend this hospital and Dr Aaron one million percent !
Dr. Janae Mattaun and staff were so kind and informative . As a first time dog mom , they reassured me and made me feel that my dog Cookie was well taken care of . Shoutout to them . I’m definitely coming back again . I was struggling finding a Veterinary office but this facility has become my go to !
The first thing I loved about my experience, was the immense care given to my kitten and I’s needs! From the very beginning, there was so much open communication and I was listened to very closely! I normally hate the vet for Shadow, but I don’t mind bringing him here from the amount of support you feel once you’re inside! I loved the front desk staff and atmosphere. The attention to detail and explanations from the veterinary staff was outstanding!
I found it so weird that any place got 5 stars, but I gave this vet a chance out of curiosity. The staff and Dr. Aaron are super sweet and knowledgeable. Their portal makes easy to communicate with the team and they’re quick to get back to you! I’m surprised to say that I’ll be giving them 5 stars as well!
Absolutely Fantastic Veterinary Hospital. We took our new puppy Camie for the first time. Dr. Mattaur is wonderful, her office staff is brilliant. Very informative, pleasant and accommodating. By far the best vet service we have ever experienced. We are so blessed to have found this office.
We rescued another puppy. His name is Toby. Weighs 3.9 pounds. Dr. Aaron was absolutely fantastic with him. Again, we are so blessed to have found such a wonderful team ❤️
I liked the highly professional care delivered by a warm patient forward team. My dog has anxiety and can be a challenging patient. However, the team was so friendly and her special circumstances were so well respected by all, she was able to relax and received the first rate care she deserves.
Dr. Mattaur and staff could not have been any more amazing!! I brought my 5 year old Havanese in for his first, and long over due, dental clean. They walked me through every detail of the procedure , kept me well informed, did not try to upsell me, and were super professional and thorough. My dog's teeth are now squeaky clean and pearly white after awful decay and build up. Price was the best in the area by far as well. 10/10 recommend!

Case in point: your response focuses on an insurance claim, which is a completely separate issue and not what my review was about. My concern is with the conduct of your front staff and the lack of follow-up from the attending vet, even after more than 14 days had passed. This only reinforces why I won’t be returning.
I’m glad others have had 5-star experiences here, because mine was the exact opposite — and it makes it even more painful to write this. My cat had surgery, his follow-up was supposed to be at 14 days, and here we are well over a month later with nothing. No call, no check-in, no support.
What I did get was Jennifer at the front desk — consistently condescending, dismissive, and even making an insulting comment about my credit score because of my age. That was the first red flag, and unfortunately, every interaction with her since has only gotten worse.
And then, the icing on the cake: the attending vet finally reached out — exactly one month later, and only a day after I left this one-star review. That’s not care. That’s damage control. And it’s laughable.
I came here hoping to find a vet for the long term. After this experience, I’m open to anyone else.
