Called to schedule a same day appointment and received treatment the same day for my new kitten. The front desk reception was awesome to the nurse's and doctor Aaron. Can wait to go back for our next follow up appointment. Highly recommend!
I recently brought my senior cat in as she wasn't feeling well. The staff was incredible and I was provided a same day appointment. Dr. Mattaur is so wonderful and thoroughly explains everything and provides you with options so YOU can choose your course of treatment.
We couldn’t be happier with the care we receive at North Jersey Veterinary Hospital. We’ve been bringing our dog Remi here since we got her about six months ago and the experience has been outstanding from day one. A special thank you to Dr. Aaron and Dr. Mauttaur along with the entire team for taking such amazing care of her during her recent spay. The love and affection they show Remi is truly second to none. What really stands out is that Remi actually loves going to the vet which says everything. Most dogs are nervous but she’s excited every time we walk through the door. That speaks volumes about how comfortable and cared for she feels. The quality of care is top-notch, the staff is incredibly friendly, and communication is excellent. They’re always quick to respond through the app and make everything easy and reassuring. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a veterinary team that genuinely cares about your pet like their own.
Dr. Aaron is the best in walking us through the best steps with our senior pups
Great Doctor's and Nurses definitely my new veterinary
We recently switched both our dogs to Dr. Aaron’s care and couldn’t be happier! Scheduling is always quick and easy, and we’ve never had an issue getting an appointment—which is so helpful with our busy schedule.
Dr. Aaron is incredibly kind and you can truly tell how much she loves and cares for animals. I especially appreciate that she gets right down on the floor with the dogs to make them feel comfortable. She explains everything clearly and takes her time to answer questions.
I also love how responsive she is—she replied almost immediately through the portal with helpful advice when I had a question. It’s such a relief not to feel like you have to come back in or wait forever for a call. Highly recommend!
We’ve been going to this hospital for over three years now, because Dr. Alex is absolutely wonderful with our two cats. Her and Dr. Mattaur treat them like their own and it really shows they love what they do! Their whole team is so supportive and always responsive on their chat feature when we have silly minor concerns, and make sure to give updates during longer procedures to help ease our worries. We are truly grateful to have found people who we trust to care for our animals like their own!
Dr. Mattaur and the staff went above and beyond for my boy Max. Unfortunately, there was nothing anyone could do. After he was euthanized they sent me a card. Thank you so much🙏🙏🙏🙏
Great place to take your cats. Brought two of mine there already and both times have been a great experience. First cat was vomiting non stop, quick meds stopped that almost immediately and she went on to make a full recovery. Second cat had a lump under her spay incision, thought the worst, I was reassured it was only inflammation due to the sutures and nothing to worry about. Recommended vet for sure.
I can’t express how grateful I am to have found Dr. Mattaur. My cat is a rescue and he has had a lot of skin issues since we adopted him. We saw 3 vets before Dr. Mattaur and were getting to a hopeless place because my poor cat had to wear a cone for long stretches of time while his skin infections cleared, only to land back in the cone with a new infection right away. He was miserable. Sounds silly but it was really becoming a big stressor in my life trying to figure out how to get him healthy. I knew Dr. Mattaur was the right doctor from the first visit. She made an extremely thorough plan to diagnose what was going on with him, and even talked me out of doing some more extreme things that had been recommended by other vets, providing more insight about those procedures than I had previously received. She clearly cares about the experience of the animals she treats and she was careful to only recommend treatment that was necessary and that my cat could handle at the moment, given the stress he was under. She considers the health of the animals she treats holistically, makes very calculated recommendations, and explains everything in great detail. To wrap it up and explain why I’m such a fan - Dr. Mattaur provided a definitive, evidence based diagnosis for my cat’s issue after TWO visits. Life is so different for him now - he hasn’t worn a cone in four months, his skin is clear, he doesn’t pull his fur out anymore, and we know how to manage his issue. He’s a different cat these days - he’s so happy and so are we. I can’t thank her or hype her up enough for being so thorough, kind, and always taking the time to explain things to us (I always have many questions and she is incredibly patient). She is truly not the average veterinarian, and I would not take my pets to anyone else. Thank you Dr. Mattaur!
Dr. Aaron is an exceptional veterinarian. She is not only very knowledgeable, but also truly personable and easy to talk to. She takes the time to listen, works with me collaboratively, and always provides thoughtful options rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. I especially appreciate how she follows up and stays involved, which shows how much she genuinely cares about both her patients and their owners. I feel confident and supported knowing my pet is under her care. Highly recommend.
I visited this veterinary clinic in October for the first time to discuss getting my dog spayed. During that visit, the doctor discovered several lumps. We discussed spaying my dog, removing the masses, and sending them out for biopsy, and I agreed to move forward with that plan.
Unfortunately, the surgery could not proceed in October because my dog went into heat the day before the procedure. I returned in January and again clearly discussed that I wanted the spay, removal of the masses, and biopsy. I received an estimate based on what I believed we had agreed upon.
On the day of the scheduled surgery, I reconfirmed the plan with the staff and was told they were only going to spay my dog and biopsy the masses—not remove them. This was not what I had agreed to. Why would I choose not to remove the masses? It makes far more sense to do everything in one surgery rather than risk having to put my dog under anesthesia again. I specifically wanted the masses removed and biopsied, and I even indicated this on the anesthesia consent form the sent out prior to surgery.
After having to clarify my request yet again, I was given a new estimate. At that point, I no longer felt comfortable proceeding. I felt unheard and very disappointed by the lack of clear communication and consistency. Ultimately, I decided not to place my dog under their care.

This place is amazing! I went for my cat who needed bladder stone removal surgery, and the staff were so kind. Answered any and all questions I had and were transparent about everything. My cat healed in just 2.5 weeks, with no complications at all. I even brought my other 2 cats for a checkup and once again the people working there are great. Thank you to everyone there, and I highly recommend it.
