This was a fantastic experience. When I was younger I used to love clothes—I mean searched-for-the-clothes-boxes-instead-of the-toy-boxes-under-the-Christmas-tree loved clothes as early as age 3 (there is video evidence). Then life, graduate school and years of post graduate school in a sector that doesn’t value style happened. I had ended up with a packed closet that was more of a time capsule storage unit than functional space, leaving me with mountains of things and still feeling like I had nothing to wear because the vast majority of it fit but was 10 years old. I had tried to clean it out 2 dozen times and just gotten overwhelmed and put everything back in. I also never felt like I could justify getting rid of anything because “there was nothing wrong with it” or buying anything because “I had a closet full of clothes” and therefore didn’t need it. Cassandra and Lucia totally got where I was coming from and went through an extensive closet edit with me. They were very patient with my overwhelm and numerous questions; I really wanted to learn the why behind things and understand how things were coming together and what I really needed in my wardrobe to nail the style we put together with my Pinterest board. A lot of what I like is on chic end, but that feeling needed to be translated to everyday and wear-to-clinic attire, and I think we got there. The process for me ended up being more than just a style alignment; it was also a mindset shift with Lucia as my style therapist. I was able to move away from a utility only mindset—that I needed to keep things that were no longer aligned with my current phase of life and not buy anything I didn’t need—and reframe to seeing my wardrobe as an investment in myself and that having a higher quality item that you truly love and that brings you joy is reason in itself. Getting dressed is an essential part of the day, and it’s now a bright spot in mine. I enjoy walking into my closet. When I packed for my last trip, there was no panic shopping involved. I felt put together every day for 3 weeks and only had a carry-on. 3 people in Greece told me I did not look American because I was dressed elegantly. I enjoy the wardrobe results, but the learning behind everything and changed perspective is the real prize. If you want to makeover your mindset and your closet, go for it!

Not only does Cassandra's system make sense, she helps you understand the psychology of and marketing impact of the fashion industry on you, your style, and your closet! I decided I was worth the investment and I signed up for the virtual styling session. Cassandra's method helped me define my fashion style and provided me tools to continue to refine my style. Lucia, Cassandra's colleague, helped me create a wardrobe for my current size and to accept myself as I am. I no longer feel the stress to be continually on a diet to fit into my clothes. I wasn’t confident in what I was wearing and kept reaching for the same few items in my closet while holding onto old clothes that no longer fit me after years of body changes. I can't say enough wonderful things about NLW! As a working mom who travels quite a bit, my style was never something I paid much attention to. I was shopping based on sales, influencer posts and "emergency shopping trips." That made for a very low quality, mismatched wardrobe and I never really looked put together. Enter NLW! I'll never forget when I unpacked the most high quality, delicious silk blouse. It took my breath away. I don't think I really knew such high quality clothing existed - or at least it wasn't within my reach. Lucia helped me find some incredible pieces that fit my body and made me feel so confident. I was worried that I wasn't the type of client that NLW caters to as I am retired. In my career, I mostly wore uniforms but now I have more time to attend my husband’s professional events or upscale social events. It’s always been a struggle for me to put items together to create a polished, cohesive outfit. I found myself feeling lost and bored with the jumble of mismatched items in my closet and constantly buying outfits for specific events was inefficient, time-consuming, expensive and burdensome. I wanted to try creating a more upscale, sustainable capsule wardrobe and I reached out to NLW for help. I was thrilled that NLW could work with me and help me curate a wardrobe that reflects my style and fits my needs. The editing process was intense and I had to do it in stages. Creating the Pinterest board was so fun and it helped me see new style possibilities. Now I love how well my mostly new wardrobe coordinates. The main reasons I chose to work with NLW are as follows: - The color pyramid with the 4 core colors and using them to coordinate a variety of outfits with minimal items made a lot of sense and was something I wanted to further explore. - I liked that NLW is a pay upfront for services and not tied to a sales commission structure. I felt that this would provide more diversity in style options and no pressure to purchase items. I was also fine with the cost as that let me know that the intent of NLW was not to be a 'stylist mill' service with hundreds of clients and providing less than stellar services, but rather a service whose intent is to provide a more bespoke styling experience. - I liked that the shopping experience was all day in NYC which opened up an array of shopping possibilities that are broader than what I have locally. Kudos to Lucia for having the energy and patience to shop all day with me. That was so awesome and I loved getting to know Lucia! - I enjoyed all the free advice in the NLW blogs, IG posts and the free webinar. I felt that there was enough info provided, without too much of a teaser, that I could easily have worked on my wardrobe by myself if I didn't have funds to purchase services. I understand that NLW is a business that wants to generate income and a specific clientele, but I felt that the content of the free information was an indication that NLW also wanted to genuinely reach a broader audience and provide the opportunity to learn about style without strings attached. - I liked that NLW emphasized editing my current closet and then encouraged focusing on less is more and higher quality, sustainable purchases. I've tried a few other style services and this helped me define what I was looking for in a stylist. I knew I wanted a stylist that had a system that could help me build a functional wardrobe and I wanted an independent stylist not affiliated with a specific brand or store. I also wanted to work with someone knowledgeable that I felt comfortable with and with whom I felt I could build an ongoing style relationship. I was looking for honest, professional style guidance and not an overpowering sales pitch to buy items in order to generate a commission. NLW delivered the service that I was looking for. The number one reason I chose NLW is to help me define and polish my style by curating a wardrobe that is a true reflection of my current self. Walking into my closet is so much nicer now that it’s pared down, curated and organized. It really is much less stress to get dressed and out the door. It was worth the investment.

I really enjoyed working with Lucia from the NLW team. It took some time and effort to get through all the clothing we tried, with lots of online orders and returns, but that’s part of the process when working with a virtual stylist. I’m in San Francisco and they’re based in New York, and the virtual styling experience was smooth and well-coordinated. After having my second child two years ago, I had the hardest time finding pants and outerwear that felt right. Lucia helped me work through that, and I’m very happy with where we ended up. I now have a wardrobe that fits my lifestyle, and I feel confident putting together my own outfits from what I have in my closet. I’ve also stopped making impulse online purchases, which is a big change for me. Lucia brought empathy and zero judgment to every session. She truly listened to what I needed and what I was hoping to find. I’ve moved on from my default black leggings athleisurewear outfits, I’ve started tucking in my tops/blouses/shirts for the first time, and I have more than enough clothing to get me through the next year.
