She was patient and supportive as we struggled to define our priorities and then gently defined them for us. She guided us through the complicated choices, procedures, visits to optimal facilities, and paper work- medical and financial- to secure the apartment within the community we chose. She was helpful during the move-in, and then when problems arose with the administration she continued to assist us in resolving the problems.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would!!! I cannot recommend Johnell Davidson highly enough. She supported my dad and me through two significant transitions — first helping us explore options when we began thinking about his future, and then this year when we were ready to move quickly and get him into assisted living closer to me.
Johnell took the time to really understand what mattered to both of us — my dad's priorities and comfort, and practical things like making sure the facilities we looked at were within 20-30 minutes of me so I could visit him regularly. He was moving from Santa Barbara area up to the Bay Area and hadn't moved in over 25 years, so this was a big deal for him. She was calm, organized, and on top of every detail from start to finish.
What stood out most was how far she went beyond the basics. She coordinated directly with my dad's primary care doctor to schedule his required appointment before move-in — something she offered to do on our behalf. After my dad settled in, she visited him in his new apartment and brought him a pothos plant. That kind of warmth and follow-through is rare.
Johnell was always available to answer questions, never made us feel rushed, and made an emotionally complex process feel genuinely supported. If you're navigating this for a parent or loved one, she is exactly who you want in your corner.
I couldn't be happier with the choice of Johnelle Davidson to help me assist my friend with her ailing husband. The assisted living place was no longer a good fit for him and Johnelle with so much kindness helped his wife find a wonderful little board care place with good people and what made me happy too it had a door that looked out into a garden. She was with us every step of the way sharing different places until the right place was found and assisted in the move. It was a good fit. I am so grateful for her help and highly recommend her. Johnell Davidson, at Neighborly Senior Placement, helped me place my dad in a wonderful care home in Windsor, California. I had no idea where to start. My mom had passed and my dad needed round the clock care; I was so lost I didn't know what to do or where to even start. Johnell stepped in and held my hand during the whole process. She was caring, compassionate, thoughtful, and extremely knowledgeable regarding the entire process. From start to finish she helped to place my dad in a loving and compassionate care home in less than 30 days. I can't say enough good things about Neighborly Senior Placement and specifically Johnell! I would give her 100 stars if I could. There are not enough good things to say about Johnell Davidson of Neighborly Senior Placement. Ever since I met her, I've been referring to her as my angel because she truly saved my life and sanity during the most stressful time. She helped me place both my father who has Alzheimer's, and then later my mother, who was suffering from a mental health crisis/dementia, at a memory care facility that is beautiful and close to home. She truly cares and showed me how much by accompanying me to facility tours, hospital visits to see my parents, and check ins after move-in. I honestly don't know how I would have survived the past year without Johnell's support, guidance, and immense knowledge of the elder care landscape in Marin.

Tanvi was an amazing help during a very difficult time when searching for a facility. She was very attentive and had several facilities for me to tour within a matter of days and I was able to make an informed decision on very short notice. My father has Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) - a parkinsons like condition that gets worse fast. He was living 45 minutes away in an assisted living facility that couldn't meet his increasing care needs. Through Neighborly (specifically Kayevon) we were able to get him into a facility that could meet his care needs and is literally 6 minutes from us! What a game-changer for my wife and I as we manage my father's sunset days...
We started working with Kayevon in November, at that time it was more exploratory as we all thought my dad's health was fairly stable where he was. Fast forward to 3 emergency room visits and hospitalizations and we found ourselves desperately searching for a new level of care by January. We reached back out to Kayevon in a bit of a panic as we needed to move dad from a SNF to a new facility within the 14 day Medicare approved SNF stay. Kayevon was instrumental in connecting us to multiple facilities so we could understand their differences. In the end we landed the dream location - close by and memory-care focused (Carlton memory care of contra costa).
Kayevon was so kind she even visited my dad as he got settled into his new room and brought him some comfort food that he could safely eat!
We are so grateful, working with Neighborly was efficient and empathetic - and of course there was no cost-burden on us as they earn commissions through the placement with the facility.

Highly recommend Neighborly! Our mom was particularly challenging to place due to severe behavioral/psych issues combined with memory loss, and Anita provided incredible wraparound support. Not only did she find the appropriate placement, but also helped us arrange transport from Southern California and offered assistance with furnishing her apartment. She even brought a welcome basket when our mom arrived. 10/10!

Tanvi was incredibly helpful with the whole process of finding a place for my parent: took me on tours, facilitated moves and equipment rentals, and was an excellent sounding board. This was even more important because I live overseas, so her constant communication was key.
She had knowledge that I just didn’t have about assisted living, boarding care, hospital equipment rentals, home health… just all the things that were new to me! She treated me and my parent with care and thoughtfulness.
Would highly recommend!

It was overwhelming and confusing to try to navigate finding affordable care for an aging and ill member of my family. I was surprised when a social worker with the Santa Clara County Social Services Department suggested, not just to contact "a placement agency," but specifically suggested I contact Neighborly Senior Placement.
When I did, I discovered this agency is a cut above. The specialist I spoke with was Anita Varelas. Right away I knew our needs were in good hands. Anita took great care to understand our situation.
