I can't say enough about the leadership of Chief Master Mike Kassebaum. He is the real deal and his passion for conveying the skills and the insights of martial arts cannot be disputed or overstated. He is one of a kind and we appreciate his mentorship and leadership so much. Our child has developed phenomenally under his tutelage and we can't wait to see where his future in the martial arts brings him. He's competed just once--here in Bellevue, NE, actually--and he did extremely well, thanks in no small part to Mike and other highly skilled and motivated students, both young and old (thanks, Andrew!!). If you're looking for a place to grow, for your child to grow, and for your mind and health to grow, trust me when I say, If you're taking it seriously, those facets of your life will grow exponentially.

Both my daughters have been going here for about a year and half. Both have progressed well and really enjoy the classes. My oldest daughter has autism (level 1) and when they first started the transition to a new sport was very difficult for her. Master K was extremely flexible in allowing her to get comfortable in her own time. For about 3 months she took half-long classes until she was confident enough. Now, she goes Monday - Thursday most weeks and practices both BJJ and Taekwondo. My youngest daughter has ADHD and struggles with focus while the instructors are demonstrating. He has always been patient and stern with her - providing reminders but also making her sit out while she gets recentered to concentrate. She has made so much progress in following along and just received her camo belt. Overall, great teacher, great environment. He knows everyone's name and is so encouraging while also spreading wonderful messages of doing your best, being a good friend and leader. The only negative I have is communication. If not for this I would easily give 5 stars. They are great about posting events and information about upcoming tournaments, but belt testing and class closures are sometimes difficult to keep track of. Their used to be paper newsletters every month that was very helpful, but now everything is on a TV that changes screens. So, unless you see it you're SOL. There is a FB group so it would be cool if belt testing, etc. was also posted there as a reminder for busy parents - just a suggestion. Outside of that, we have been so pleased with this institution and can see how it has helped both of our daughters.

They charged me for 26 months despite only signing a 12 month contract. I began my time there and attended for many months but then had to go out of town for 2 months (most of that time out of the country). Mike said i could come back and make up those two months on the back end, so that is what i did. Then i stopped going because i believed the contract was done because i had finished the 12 months of lessons. He knew i was not going to be coming back anymore and I even have a text from me to mike kassembaum one month after i stopped going saying i thought my time was up. However, he continued to charge me for the next 14 months despite me never going to another class. When i tried to reach out to him, very kindly, assuming he had not meant to charge me for all that because i thought maybe he did not realize i was still being charged, he completely ghosted me and would never respond to any text messages, emails, phone calls, or voicemails. Then a third party collection agency named ASF payment solutions reached out and communicated with me and refused to reimburse me for the extra 14 months of payments they scammed out of me. They would not accept my text message to kassembaum from 13 months prior where i said i thought my time was up nor the fact that i had not stepped foot in their facility for 14 months as a good enough reason to cancel the subscription and reimburse me. It was disappointing to learn that Mike Kassembaum has such bad ethical behavior that even though he knew i had not set foot in his facility for 14 months, he still charged me all those 14 months and refused to reimburse me or to even address the situation at all or say he is sorry. So at this point i would not be surprised if he purposely scammed all that money from the beginning. I am not one to leave bad reviews, and i did not want to leave one here, but i thought it would be wrong if i did not warn others. I was charged for 26 months worth when it should have only been 12. And i have never heard a word from Kassembaum despite my texts, calls, and emails.

Because membership agreements and payment histories contain private information, we cannot discuss the specific details of an account publicly. Our agreements explain the initial membership term, what happens afterward, and the required cancellation process. Class attendance—or the completion of the initial term—does not automatically cancel an active membership.

We value every person who trains with us and regret that your experience has resulted in this level of disappointment.

We were visiting from out of town for a few weeks and they worked the boys in. They were able to try different martial arts out. Great variety of programs! Super nice instructors.

Very pleased My family has been going to Master K for a couple years now. We signed our daughter up and then joined ourselves because of the community atmosphere and very real practical self defense help. We love all the instructors there as they are knowledgeable, patient and kind. We couldn’t be happier with our choice.

Rewarding in multiple ways for your child or even yourself! This has been the most rewarding experience for my son. He has gained so much knowledge and confidence over the last year and a half. He is currently on the demo team, assisting with younger students as a junior leader, continuously learning about teamwork, respect for others, self-control, and some many other things. He just received his blue belt last night and sent boards flying in the air when he broke them.

Chief Master Kassebaum and all of the instructors @ KMA are fantastic. They are able to tailor each class to every level of student. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. The facility is clean. Chief Master Kassebaum has answered any and all questions we have had along the way. All contracts and purchases have been well explained to us and documents are given for our records. The curriculum is well thought out and his knowledge is so impressive. I enjoy listening to the history of KMA and taekwondo when he sprinkles it in the lessons. I appreciate how they teach focus, discipline, leadership, and respect during the martial arts classes but they also have a lot of fun. There are often free "try-it' or "bring a friend" classes as well as trial classes offered. Would absolutely recommend KMA-we are happy with our decision to join.

I generally don't write reviews for things so I'm not sure what to say. What I can say is that I couldn't ask for a better instructor and classmates. Everyone helps each other and the instructor explains things beautifully. I have enjoyed every class since the day I walked in the door for the first time. I highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to feel safer in their day to day lives.

Biggest scam of a martial arts company I’ve ever been a part of. You have to pay more to get “perks” and to do certain competitions Contracted payment. They go through a third party that automatically renews your original contract without telling you and then requires a 30 day written notice to cancel. Absolute scam of a company to have your clients use The classes are short, the same thing over and over again. I felt like I was never learning anything new and was paying a ton of money for incredibly short classes with minimal progression. Unreachable. I have been trying to call to cancel my subscription for two weeks. It got to the point where I tried calling every 10 minutes. Never an answer. I left a message like the voicemail asked and never got a call back. This is the most “money first, students last” martial company I have ever seen. They truly only care about money and not actually teaching you martial arts. Incredibly disappointing.
