I honestly can’t express how grateful I am for my driving instructor Samir from Ryles. I started my driving journey full of fear and overthinking, but Samir completely changed that for me. His calmness, patience, and the way he explains everything with so much clarity made all the difference.
He never made me feel embarrassed for making mistakes — instead, he helped me learn from them with kindness and encouragement. What once felt stressful and scary suddenly became simple and even enjoyable.
Because of him, I gained confidence I didn’t know I had, and getting my driving license became so much easier than I ever imagined. He truly believed in me when I struggled, and that support is something I will never forget.
If anyone is looking for an instructor who actually cares, understands your fears, and guides you like a true mentor, Samir from Ryles is simply the best. I couldn’t have asked for anyone better.🥰
When I signed up through the website, the ad promised that the school would contact me within 24 hours, but in my case it took a few days. Not a big issue on its own, but it did shape my first impression.
About the results:
I spent €4050 and about 2.5 months training here, including 2 exam attempts.
I do appreciate that my instructor helped me feel more confident on the road, but I still didn’t achieve the results I was hoping for (driving skills(+), parking skills (-), driving license(-))
I often felt like I was being charged for every small thing.
For example, I paid extra when we ran 30 minutes late because of planning issues, but when my instructor arrived 30 minutes late to my lesson, nothing was added to my time.
I was offered a small package-discount for extra lessons and an exam retake after I had already bought extra lessons at full price - €540 for 5 lessons (90 minutes each), I mentioned it - and school just requested the full price again - €345 for the new exam.
⬆️ Even in this case, I wasn’t able to receive any super-small kind of discount. Not a big deal compared to the amount of money I have already spent, but again - unpleasant.
The driving car often had very dirty windows, which didn’t help with visibility or make driving very pleasant. Especially during the dark time.
My biggest disappointment was parking 😕
Even though I asked many times, we barely practiced it - maybe 30 minutes in total (mostly backwards) - so I still don’t feel comfortable with it.
I was told that driving is more important than parking… maybe it’s true - I’m sure I’ll remember this every time I struggle to park in the future.
Overall, there were some positives, but the experience felt quite expensive for the quality and results I received.
Allereerst complimenten aan de rijinstructeur Murat. Man van woord, gedetailleerde uitleg, eerlijk en relaxed om les van te krijgen. Tip voor mensen die twijfelen aan zichzelf of goede rijles willen volgen zonder twijfel aanmelden. Er wordt een plan van aanpak gemaakt nadat je de proefles heb gereden en het verloopt precies zoals gepland. Chapo. Voordat je het weet heb je je examen. Het gaat dus zo snel. Nogmaals bedankt Murat voor je inzet en precisiewerk.

Busra was the best! A dedicated and kind teacher, she helped me so much and got my driver license the first try. Also thanking the team of Rijles helping me with everything I needed. And also thanks teacher Arian who was my initial teacher and got my through the first phase of learning.
As somebody who learned how to drive in Australia the prospect of driving in Amsterdam terrified me! I was lucky enough to have an amazing instructor - Moustafa - who managed to patiently correct me as I tried to turn left around roundabouts, drive onto oncoming tram lines and kept turning my windscreen wipers on instead of the indicator 😅 He also let me play my music and we had a lot of laughs making driving lessons pretty fun actually! I had a great experience with Ryles and even though it did take me a while to get my license there’s no way I could have done it without them.

I had a great experience at Ryles, especially thanks to my instructor, Ahmet. He is calm, patient, and explains everything clearly, making each lesson smooth and stress-free. I really appreciated how closely he follows each student’s progress and adjusts lessons to match.
Whenever I felt like I wasn’t getting something right at first, he stayed positive, explained how to improve, and made me feel sure that I would get it with practice. With his support, I felt truly confident behind the wheel and passed my practical exam on the first try. If you’re looking for a skilled instructor who genuinely cares about their students, teaches effectively, and keeps lessons positive, I can recommend him without hesitation.

I had a good experience with Ryles. I started off at the beginning of this year with big driving anxiety and have never driven before. My instructor Khalid taught me everything from scratch and showed a lot of patience. He helped me become decisive in my driving and build my confidence while keeping safety as first priority. I passed my exam on the second try.
Communication could be a little better. We switched instructors a few times before my first exam which was valuable preparation before the exam, but it would help me a lot mentally to have it arranged beforehand. Although being thrown into the deep is a lesson too :-)

I cannot begin to explain how incredibly amazing Samir, my driving instructor was. From day one he made me feel so comfortable and confident on Dutch roads.
Even though I had several years of driving experience from New Zealand, driving in the Netherlands is a completely different challenge.
Witnessing Samir working with other students made it clear to me that he goes above and beyond to break down the Dutch driving style in a way that every student can understand in their own way.
With Samir's teaching style and guidance, I felt more and more prepared to tackle any Dutch traffic situation after every lesson.
I passed on my first attempt at the CBR exam, and I really don't think I could have done it without the patience, training, and direction from Samir.

Ik heb bij deze rijschool een zeer positieve ervaring eraan overgehouden, de rij instructeur was heel chill, legde alles ook top uit en de ezelsbruggetjes die ik heb geleerd hebben me enorm goed geholpen tijdens mij examen waardoor ik dus nu ben geslaagd. Ik raad deze rijschool ook zeker aan !

What an amazing experience and journey it has been! Such a professional school and as an international, Rijschool Ryles has been extremely helpful, providing clear instructions (in English as well) and providing all the help needed!
A special thanks to my instructor, Melih, for his patience (A LOT) and his help. Very professional, always responding when needed, made additional effort on my exam day for a pre-test lesson and his day off to help me pass. Always received helpful feedback and advice after each lesson.
