When you contacted us on 6 May, you had already been residing in Spain since 1 April while carrying out remote work activity under a tourist stay, over a month and a half of unauthorised work activity on Spanish territory before seeking legal advice. The €80 consultation was therefore focused on the single most important matter for your case: that working remotely on a tourist stay falls outside the permitted activity for that status, and that the UGE is currently refusing in-country Digital Nomad applications on precisely this basis under Article 36 of LO 4/2000. Recommending the Consulate route was not a commercial preference, it was the route with materially lower legal risk given the circumstances you brought to us. The consultation served its core purpose: identifying a situation that, under the current criteria applied by the UGE, would have resulted in a refusal had the application been submitted from Spain.
Regarding the Certificado Digital: this is a tool used by the lawyer when formally representing the client before the UGE. It is only relevant for applicants who choose to submit the application themselves, which was not the service you were enquiring about. Including it in a strategic risk assessment for a client seeking full legal representation would have served no purpose.
