This is my opinion based upon by far the worse experience I've ever encountered with a company and I'm a senior citizen on a fixed income! During my initial contact with them I informed them it was an insurance claim but he wrote the contract up as retail as oppose to insurance (red flag) and when I questioned him he said it would be less paperwork if he kept it the way it was so I didn't think too much about it and because of the google reviews I thought I'd be ok BIG MISTAKE on my part!!! The contract stated $85 per sheet for wood replacement, and I was told that my entire roof had to be corrected due to a code violation. They sent the invoice to both me and my claims adjuster for 60 sheets of OSB at $85 each totaling a whopping $5100 in addition to the original quote. My insurance paid only $3564 because the roofer wasn't replacing the wood they were doing what I've been told is called an overlay so it would be less labor and since they weren't removing the old wood there would be no or minimal debris removal for the overlay. My insurance company stated that they were charging more than the industry standard for an overlay in my area according to their software. Despite the discrepancy the roofer would not adjust their price but had I INSISTED on him changing the contract from retail to insurance this would not have been an issue. Also, the contract listed items for the garage roof that they admitted in an email they would not be using but again they did not adjust the price even though I asked them in emails and calls to send me an amended contract. Of course, the insurance company would not pay for the items that were not being used. A lot of things were said on both sides in the end (between me and the owner) but bottom line I made a mistake of hiring and trusting that this company would treat me as a valued customer. Instead of trying to work with the insurance company, the owner asked me in an email why I keep talking about the insurance company when their contract is with me and if I DIDN'T pay the bill he would attach a lien against my home so learn from me and READ your contract and DEMAND any changes PRIOR TO SIGNING or simply don't sign!!!! I ended up paying my $1000 deductible plus over $2000 simply because I made the mistake of trusting them. The total job was almost $18K!!! You may say that $3000 isn't a lot but it is to a senior on fixed income so learn from my costly mistake and don't do what I did. God Bless

If what you say is true and you had no knowledge of my insurance company then how do you explain your company’s interaction with my insurance adjuster via email dated as far back as APRIL 28th…several weeks before you started. Your rep spoke to my adjuster and I can honestly say that he was quick to respond to her requests via emails of which I was copied on most… However, it's really sad that you would take the time to respond distorting the truth throughout your response….. at least my review is honest and can be backed up with proof… For the record I HAVE NO PERSONAL CHECKS haven’t used a check in over ten years... Every payment that was paid your office processed by debiting my account AFTER and only after the insurance company sent me funds!!! The insurance paid $3564 of the $5100 that you charged for 60 sheets of OSB so they DID NOT pay 90% they paid 70%. Also, I have an email from your company that specifically states a few of the items noted on the contract for the garage would not be used, it had absolutely nothing to do with you ordering extra material for your crew to have enough, you and I both know YOUR statements are not true. Afterwards, someone from your company had the audacity to leave your sign on my lawn without my consent as if I would ever refer your company to my neighbors. YOU TOOK ADVANTAGE OF THE SITUATION and made your money I hope you’re happy!!! By the way, I didn’t mention that the roof looks good probably because it doesn’t!!!! Definitely not worth $18,000 regardless of who paid for it.

Thank you so much for your review. You are correct our reviews are fantastic because we do excellent work. Unfortunately "changes" wood issues cannot be discovered until after tear off when there is no attic access. In your case you had almost 3 inch spaced decking, we had no choice but to add wood to properly adhere our shingles. Our contract is very specific regarding the price of wood prior to contract signing, and we are lower than most companies in our market. Concerning the insurance claim, you notified us the day of work that this was an insurance claim because of the wood issue, we then got involved with your insurance and they paid 90% of the cost. The reason there was a difference is because your adjuster would not factor waste, had nothing to do with overlay. Definitely something you can contest and get paid for. We are happy to be involved with insurance companies from the start. This was not the case, it was retail because you paid by personal check at the beginning, you handled the claim, then initially refused to pay us the balance because of the wood addition, and wanted to renegotiate the contract.
These reviews are always difficult for us to address because you make us sound like bad people just for wanting to get paid for the work we did, even though you agreed to the contract at the beginning. Your $18000 roof project cost you $3000, some of which you can definitely still adjust with your insurance company. Your deductible is the law, people can try to get out of paying that all they want, but they have to pay it. Concerning the extra materials that were not used. We always order extra materials so our installers do not run short, then pick them up after. It does not mean something was not used that should have been a discount given.

Discount Roof was a pleasure from beginning to end. Cole performed our estimate, and was incredibly thorough with the assessment of our roof. Work was scheduled and performed very quickly, and the crew who came out were fantastic. Ray and Luis were friendly and answered any questions readily. As a first-time homeowner, the whole team made this process very smooth.
After work was completed, I ran a magnet through the yard and only turned up a handful of nails- considering my old roof like had tens of thousands of nails, I was very impressed. I absolutely will do business with them again.

Ray Sosnowski Team came out and worked on our house. They took the mold out of the roof. What about the beyond replace our roof? They were very professional and not at a professional pricing that robbed your pocket. . It's not often you can see a team like this from start to finish. They were on top of everything keeping up with cleaning doing professional work taking pride . Also Ray stopped in to check on everybody to make sure everything was going on track..The The head of the team guy explained everything as everything was going on . So we were not surprised on anything.

Very sorry for your negative experience. However, this was an insurance claim due to a tree falling on your house. We would have been happy to deal with your insurance company and repair the damage, but just providing an estimate to help you make a profit off of the claim is not what we do. We work closely with all insurance companies.
This guy is the type of nightmare contractor you hear stories about. Avoid at all costs.
We had a really frustrating experience with poor communication and a lack of transparency around pricing. We were never told that the final cost of our roof would be about $3,000 more than the original quote—no call, no email, no text.
When I asked about it, instead of getting a straightforward explanation, the owner got defensive and insisted he had called, which he didn’t. There was also blame placed on us for not responding to calls that were never made. Ironically, once there was an issue, communication suddenly wasn’t a problem and we started getting emails—but none of that happened when the price changed.
Instead of just explaining the increase, the situation escalated into repeated threats of placing a lien while we were simply asking for clarity on a pretty significant bill change.
I do NOT reccomend.

Leaving a negative review because you had rotted wood on your building you did not want to pay for is not a reflection on our company. Unfortunately in our industry wood problems exist, and we cover that on the contract that you signed before the job commenced. It is not something that can be predicted ahead of time for the most part and we do not replace wood unless absolutely necessary. We get it, unexpected wood problems cause stress. We offer many options to take care of the unexpected, unfortunately just deciding to not pay us is not one of them. Our phone system logs all attempts of communication, and during the project which lasted 7 hours, 2 attempts were made. The wood had to be replaced per contract and code with or without your consent. Your roof looks great!
These guys are great. Finished a job that another company jerked me around on. They were very competitively priced, and did a great job. Very professional and did great work, and cleaned up everything.
Will definitely call them first if I ever need repairs again.
The owner is a straight up guy. No b.s.

I just purchased a townhouse, and the roof on my section was in desperate need of replacement. Discount Roof were able to match the shingles on my neighbor's roof and get everything replaced in a single day. Would definitely recommend.

After experiencing a near hit Tornado for the first time in my life. I asked a friend for suggestions who really got hit in Lake Village IN, she suggested Discount Roofing so we set up an estimate with them. Mr. Alec arrived and did a thorough inspection. Found many imperfections due to the strong wind and hail damage that came with the Tornado. He explained everything in full detail. After I approved their service and obtained a check from my insurance company. My insurance made it complicated for me to cash the check as they wanted my mortgager to endorse it as-well by having me send check to them in California and wait who knows how long for it to get done. I informed of situation to Alec of Discount Roofing. He immediately took responsibility and said they will take care of it. He did take care of it alright! Because within 2 weeks I had worker putting on a new roof. They use high quality material and offer lifetime warranty aswell. In addition they add tarp on the ground to catch all garbage and nails that may fly off roof. Cleaning up well as if nothing happened. I am extremely satisfied with their work and now my house looks yet the best in the neighborhood….AAAAA++++

Fixing things right.
I contacted Discount Roof after the company I was trying to do business with, put my needs on the back burner when they discovered they weren't going to make a lot from the insurance claim. I contacted the owner of Discount Roof and HE came out I believe 2 days later. He looked at what the previous company had done and gave me a quote to complete the Roof damage properly. I accepted his terms and his workers came out and knocked out the project in a few hours. His two guys, Jake and John were very professional and polite. They completed the job and cleaned up the area extremely well upon completion. I would never hesitate to call on Discount Roof again for any of my rooking needs in the future.
