Beware.. I’d be very cautious about agreeing to work being carried out by MPW. I originally requested a quote and was told labour would be £100 + VAT for the first hour, reducing to £80 + VAT thereafter, excluding the cost of any parts. After the engineer attended, I received a call advising the total would be roughly £250, which I agreed to. However, when the invoice arrived, it simply stated “attended toilet issue” with a charge of £260 and no further detail. What makes this even more frustrating is that the engineer was only at the property for around 30 minutes to complete the work, so based on the rates I was originally quoted, I appear to have been overcharged by at least £100. I requested a breakdown so I could understand the labour and parts costs, but Kelly advised this wasn’t possible and said that because I had agreed to the amount at the time, “it is what it is.” I find this completely unfair. Being refused even a basic breakdown makes it feel as though extra charges have been added on top of the original estimate. It’s disappointing because Kelly was extremely pleasant when providing the quotation, but very dismissive when I later asked for clarification on the invoice.

Firstly, thank you for your feedback and your dissatisfaction in our services, where do i start?

Being a Bristol based company and you being located over 40miles away we attended to carry out repairs to your faulty toilet, when my engineer arrived he found the fault and discussed with you that parts were needed, it was explained to you that parts were required and that we would source and come back to you with a cost and that this visit would be FOC as a goodwill gesture as we were not there long (Exc time travelled) but this is the type of service we provide at Mpw.

You were contacted several hours later with a costing to which you agreed, this has been clearly stated in your above message, materials were ordered and we had to wait sometime for delivery, even though you chased me about when the parts would arrive, i discussed that as soon as the parts were in stock that i would send an engineer immediately to fix your toilet, once again with the great service Mpw provides are promise was once again delivered.

Now after 4 days of an overdue invoice for the agreed amount you decide that this is too much and you will not pay, the invoice for the sum of £259 and pennies, you think is unfair and want to pay £160.00, the amount of wasted admin time you have taken from my office team today is completely unacceptable and as you have made it very clear in email communication that the outstanding invoice full amount will not be paid.

It’s a shame that every now and then we end up providing are great services to such a person, the damage you create to small buisnesses is something you will clearly never understand.

My response to this will be to make sure what ever legal cost i have to spend i will to recover monies owed to Mpw Group.

I will also be making sure that all my connections with in the construction industry is aware of your behaviour and to give a wide birth.

Mpw Group is a company with a long list of great reviews and consistently go out of are way to support all existing & new customers, its just a shame people like yourself exist.

Came out for an emergency call within an hour on the Saturday, and returned again on Sunday. Zak was really efficient, eventually found the source of the leak and fixed what he thought the issue was (poorly installed toilet). Will definitely be using and recommending again.

Woke up last Friday morning with no hot water coming out of any of the taps at my mum's house. By 8am Saturday morning, we had James pop by and he immediately identified the issue, then quickly sourced the replacement float valve and everything was working again by 10am. He was friendly and did an excellent job (in a tricky attic space where the tanks were hard to reach), thanks very much to him and Matt for responding so speedily on the weekend. Thanks again. Alex

Gosh! If only every trades company followed the examples set by MPW. From telephonist, to gas fitters to the Chairman personally, everyone - just everyone - was unbelievably helpful, polite and gave 100% service. From my first call, an engineer came later that same day. Joy oh joys, we had hot water and heating. Unfortunately the error code returned - but MPW faced the challenge and another engineer came within a few hours. He gave the whole boiler a very thorough overhaul. And the Chairman - he personally called me when the error code returned and continued to stay in touch seeing the job to fruition. And at the end of the day - the company insisted only the initial call out fee was payable. The service I received was totally exemplary - - Thank you MPW - a million thankyous! I contacted MPW Group to investigate a leak and was told that if it was not a plumbing issue, I would be charged one hour plus VAT, which I was happy to accept so that I could at least identify the source of the problem. They attended while I was out (my partner was home) and later reported that the issue was “just grout” and not a plumbing problem. I paid the invoice of around £140 despite no actual work being carried out, on the basis that I would at least get clear information and evidence of the leak. When I phoned to ask for more detail and a photo of the leak (which they said they had), the lady on the phone was rude, dismissive and kept repeating that “it’s obviously your bath” – as if it should have been obvious to me before I called a plumber. If it really were that obvious, I wouldn’t have paid for a specialist to attend. I still haven’t been sent any evidence of the leak, despite asking. Very poor customer service, unhelpful attitude on the phone and no sense of accountability given I have already paid the invoice. Unfortunately, I would not use this company again or recommend them.

Firstly, I would like to take this opportunity to apologise that you feel the service you received was unsatisfactory. At MPW, we work extremely hard to provide a high standard of service for all customers, both new and returning.

While we never wish to receive a one-star review, we do appreciate all feedback as it allows us the opportunity to review our processes and continue improving.

On this occasion, I have reviewed the engineer’s job sheet and the photographs taken during the visit.

Based on this information, I agree with the team’s diagnosis that the cause of the leak is due to the lack of grout, which is clearly visible. The costs were explained prior to attendance, and it was confirmed that you were happy to proceed.

It was also communicated that if the issue was found to be related to grout or silicone replacement, you would need to contact a company that specialises in those works.

We fully appreciate your frustration; however, we believe that all communication regarding the visit, the potential outcome, and the associated costs was made clear before MPW attended, and the cause of the leak was visibly identifiable. Kind regards. Team Mpw

Boiler was making a violent rumbling noise when the hot water was running. Rang MPW at 8am, Nick arrived by 10.30 and issue was resolved by 11. Very happy with the service. Will be calling on them again for any future needs.

I couldn't rate MPW highly enough. Reliable, friendly, efficient and considerate. My boiler packed in on Saturday morning I found them on Google, have them a call and was informed the team were in chipping Sudbury at the time but someone would be with me as quick as possible. Within an hour someone was at my house, checking over the boiler. It required some new parts that couldn't be ordered in for Sunday but first thing Monday they were back and got the boiler up and running. This was just before Christmas and I had a 2 year old and heavily pregnant wide at the time. Their efficiency at solving the problem was therefore hugely appreciated. What's more, the fallout charge was waived and when fixing the boiler they identified something else that could do with replacing. This was done with no extra charge than the part. I said I felt bad them not charging me and his response was "it's Christmas round the corner and I'm sure that money could go to better use for you and your family". That combined with the job they did was all I needed to know I won't be going anywhere else when I'm in need again. Rate it.

3 engineers came round over the space of 2 weeks. still left without water & heating. Got a plumber from my builder and fixed my rental property within 30 mins.

I called MPW Group when I had problems with a carbon monoxide alarm the night before I was going on holiday. The engineer was there within a very short time even though it was a Sunday, and quickly tested everything and put my mind at rest. I will definitely use them again

I recently hired MPW to install several pre-used appliances in my home, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. From the start, the initial contact with Matt went well. I explained my requirements, and he provided a quote, which we agreed upon. The plumbers arrived on time, were polite, and seemed professional. However, things quickly went downhill. The job appeared to be underestimated in terms of time, and they tried to charge us extra for additional work. The team had to reschedule another visit, and worst of all, they left us without hot water. The next morning, a plumber came back to simply turn the hot water back on—something they had forgotten to do—and then scheduled yet another visit a week later to complete the work. During this period, our kitchen was unusable because there was no water. When Matt called to reschedule, he requested an additional day's charge for two plumbers, which we refused, as we had already accepted the original quote. The plumbers returned as scheduled, but despite their best efforts, they couldn't get the Quooker appliance up and running. They claimed we hadn’t mentioned the kitchen was unfinished, which they said was the reason for the extra time spent. However, that was irrelevant to the work that was supposed to be done. To make matters worse, we had to call a Quooker engineer at an additional cost of £280. Within minutes, the engineer identified that the only issue was the plumber's failure to switch the appliance on properly. As if that wasn't frustrating enough, a few weeks after the installation, a major leak developed under the sink. We contacted Matt again, but this time he informed us that pre-used equipment only carried a 30-day warranty, something we were never told initially. He refused to send a plumber without charging us again, even though the leak was directly related to their work. While the plumbers were polite and friendly, the lack of professionalism and poor communication left a lot to be desired. I would not recommend MPW for anyone needing reliable plumbing or appliance installation services.

You contacted Mpw to carry out a 1st & 2nd fix of your kitchen, I provided a cost and to help you out attended the following day, Oh what a mistake that was, my team informed me that the entire kitchen purchased was 2nd hand and loads more works required, units not in place, sink not in place, granite work tops out in the garden which required my team to help your partner lift in & out several times, I instructed my team to continue to help you out and then when the truth of the full extent of the works came to light I contacted both of you to advise more cost would be added, you both became defensive on this and I ended up agreeing to minimum increase on the fact that we had already started and I wanted to make sure we were paid.

This was several months ago, you contact me yesterday telling me you have a leak, and when I tried to explain that due to the time frame from when we fitted the units and the blockage was due to your food disposal unit failing then this would be chargeable, once again the discussion of money sent you into a tantrum and threats of this bad review would follow.

I welcome all feedback from * - ***** reviews, this is how as a company you grow from mistakes and improve services.

I never thought in my wildest dreams I would engage in feedback like this and to some this will come across very unprofessional but you know what the construction industry tradesmen are sick to the back teeth of customers like you that when things do not go there way they spit there toys out the pram and threaten bad reviews

If we could give reviews and stars back you'd be getting Just the 1.

At Mpw group we have an outstanding reputation for our work & aftercare and go above and beyond to help people, but as I keep getting told.

SOME PEOPLE CAN NOT BE HELPED.

Zack was amazing at finding are leak in the bathroom sink and whilst he was turning the stop tap off (we were talking about the dishwasher) he offered to take the kick board off and took a picture of it for us then put the kick board back on we would 100% recommend Zack was kind, friendly, helpful, really knowledgeable and nothing seem to much.
