Justin was fantastic to work with. He came out to assess whether a basement wall was load-bearing or not, and he was incredibly thorough, professional, and knowledgeable throughout the process. Scheduling with him was quick and easy, and he communicated clearly from start to finish.
He even adjusted the appointment to fit an earlier opening in my work schedule, which I really appreciated. He showed up on time, was friendly, and made it clear that I could reach out if anything unexpected came up during the tear-down. That level of support made the whole project feel a lot less stressful.

We have consulted Justin on multiple projects in our home and have been more than thrilled with his expertise, advise, responsiveness, and care for us as his clients. He helped us with our very large retaining wall, adding basement sq footage under our porch, adding a bathroom (removing and adding walls), and finishing of our basement (also removing and adding walls, beams, and doorways). Justin is truly an expert at his craft as a structural engineer. One of my favorite things about him is he takes time to explain his findings to clients. He is available for calls after if you need his opinion or help to coordinate with foundation repair companies. He truly goes above and beyond and in my opinion is the best structural engineer to work with in utah and slc counties.

Over the last 2 years, I have had 4 different foundation repair companies evaluate my foundation and give 4 completely different solutions with wildly different prices for my home. I have been looking for an engineer to help me decide which option is best for at least 6 months.

I had my front porch pulling away from the roof and foundation. Justin was recommended to me and I had him come out and he diagnosed that the broken foundation problem was actually the top beam that was not mounted correctly which allowed the beam to twist and pull away from the house along with breaking out the foundation at the bottom. Justin then provided the structural engineering details on how it needed to be done correctly. The porch is now sound and will not be able to move in the future. See before and after pictures. I would definitely recommend Mountain Valley Engineering.
