My daughter has been taking violin classes at Monrovia Music Academy and they are honestly the best! Her teacher, Lenche Nasev has been super patient, supportive and helpful. She also has taught at a very good pace and learned much in a short time already.

This music school has been helpful in getting my kids engaged with finding and playing an instrument they enjoy. It's very important to find an instructor that works well with you and your fam. The first couple of instructors did not blend well with us. One was basically making my daughter feel bad for not having her own ukulele. This was when we first started (maybe 3rd session). We would borrow the academies instruments, which was fine with other staff. We were trying out different instruments to see which we liked before purchasing. Another instructor was on his phone and/or taking bathrooms break during my son's session. This was more recent (summr. 2025). That was unexpected because we've been dealing with nice, professional instructors lately.
Besides those incidents the staff has been friendly, professional, and helpful. The front desk; Jordan and Augustina (I think that's the names), have been very helpful with our scheduling needs and always greet us. Our instructors Drew and Becca are the best. So friendly, make learning fun and enjoyable. Big THANK YOU to the front desk, Becca, & Drew. They deserve 5 stars.
Side note: Try to park in the street spots or parking lot. There's a little parking lot right next to MMA but once in a while a man will come out from the back building/office and get protective over the parking lot. I think it's a church or something.
Other than that is a fine place w/ kind staff.
Lots to do nearby-playground, restaurants, library, and more.
Monrovia Music Academy has been a hit 😀 for our drummer girl. Words cannot express how much we love Mr. Ben. He's been such a gracious and gentle teacher with our girl. Our six-year-old, who started at 4 with Mr. Ben, has been a gift. Mr. Ben has been a highlight of our Wednesday afternoons.
I have two daughters going here, both working with Shay, and they love it. One started with singing and has moved over more to general music and some theory, currently learning some guitar, while the younger has more recently started learning piano (both are under 10 yo). Great location, generally flexible (we've missed a few classes near last-minute...), and very friendly.

My 5-year-old started early childhood lessons with Ms. Becca last fall... and has had so much fun AND learned so much already! I think the Animal Adventures curriculum sets a healthy foundation for kids in such a fun, fantastic way, and Ms. Becca's warmth & wonderful ability to keep my daughter focused during the lessons has been such a blessing. My daughter is so comforted/excited that Ms. Becca will continue to be available when she begins PIANO lessons in August, and we're so grateful for the front office staff (such as Agustina) who has helped make it such a seamless transition!
Monrovia Music Academy, thank you for everything! We are forever grateful to how patient, loving, caring, flexible and giving you are. They go above and beyond for each student and their families. We had a 3rd little guy who has had many health issues since before he was born and everyone was so understanding as to why we had to go virtual for a couple of months. They were so flexible and provided zoom lessons, checked on us often and even sent us sweet cards and gifts. We have felt so welcomed and loved by all the staff. We have two boys enrolled in this awesome and talented music academy. Our 9 year old is in guitar lessons with Chris. Chris is so patient and knowledgeable. He loves to teach and is extremely talented. Our son thinks he's the coolest guy! Then we have our 7 year old in drum lessons with Ben. Ben is so patient and caring and knowledgeable as well. He makes our little guy feel like he can do anything and ace it! He makes lessons so fun for our little wiggle worm. Our little dude loves Ben! We also got to work with Noah right before Ben and we also want to shout him out, he was awesome and patient as well. We also got to work with other substitute teachers and they are all awesome and pick up right where we last left off so it's super smooth. We love teacher Kenny at Monrovia Music Academy! My son has been taking drum classes for a year now and he’s improved so much. Teacher Kenny has a gentle way of teaching that makes my son feel safe and competent. He gives him guidance and positive feedback to encourage his skills. I like that they have 2 performances a year so we can see how far they’ve come. I would recommend this academy. :)

Ben is he's teacher. Who is Exquisitely talented, knowledgeable, friendly and extremely gifted with teaching. It's hard to find someone like him. From beginner to advanced he can do the whole spectrum of students.

We had a couple of piano teachers throughout the years because our after school schedule changes frequently. All of them were great so far! Shay Stickler is amazing with my 8yo son, making the classes playful while being productive. Johanna Bagay is awesome with my 6yo daughter who is progressing unbelievably given her young age. Both of my kids love being at the classes and luckily, neither of them think of the time spent at MMA as being at school.

Monrovia Music Academy is a well taken care of, and dedicated school. The staff is very helpful and friendly, along with the teachers. Ms. Marley Washington is my daughters teacher and we love her! She is so sweet, and has helped my daughter improve her confidence in her singing, as well as her own ability. We wanted to introduce our teenage son to formal vocal lessons as we saw how much he seemed to enjoy singing when in private.
He was very reluctant but eventually acquiesced.
He did his first trial lesson with Marley and wasn't opposed to signing up to the program (that's a major win).
While I can't say he's over the moon, he seems to enjoy the lessons and willingly practices at home on his own,
Marley has a great temperament and seems to know how to work with teens of this generation. We're grateful that she has found a way to keep him engaged.
The Academy itself has been very easy to work with. The front desk personnel have all been accommodating. We like their flexible make-up policy. The location and facilities are all A+.
