I was recommended to this facility by a friend. I was hesitant at first, but I decided to give it a chance. My first experience was actually great—I met with a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who I really connected with. We vibed well, I felt heard, and I genuinely thought I found the right fit.
In between appointments, I had a telehealth session with a therapist. This is where things took a turn. It was very obvious she was at a salon or some type of personal setting and not in a private environment. Her background wasn’t blurred, and the setting didn’t feel appropriate or professional. I even offered to reschedule, but she reassured me she wasn’t in public and was just having issues getting her phone set up. At that point I probably should have moved on, but I decided to give the facility another chance.
Later, I was moved to a new Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner because the first one left the office. I began liking the new provider and was being monitored while starting new medications. Unfortunately, the side effects hit over a weekend, and there is no emergency or after-hours contact to get even brief guidance. I understand that might be their policy, but it left me anxious with no support during a medication adjustment.
After that, things went downhill. The first telehealth appointment was missed due to a family emergency, and I completely understood. The second appointment was also missed, but when I called (while the office was still open), I was squeezed in late—again with an emergency explanation. I tried to be understanding because things happen.
But the third missed appointment is where it broke down for me. This time I received no call, no text, no explanation—and days later, I still haven’t heard anything. Meanwhile, I’m in the middle of dealing with medication issues and depending on this provider to monitor me. When you’re trusting someone with your psychiatric care, communication is everything. At the very least, someone should have reached out to cancel, reschedule, or explain.
Unfortunately, this has been the last straw. I’m very disappointed with how the past month has gone. It’s discouraging to feel like the one who ends up with the negative experience when I came in hopeful and ready to trust their care. I will be seeking help elsewhere.
To be fair, the facility is clean, and the front desk staff are always kind. But I can’t keep dealing with repeated missed appointments, unclear communication, and feeling unsupported while going through medication changes. I need a provider and a facility that I can depend on.
Also, I did not name any names because this should be a learning experience for the facility, not an attack on any individual.
All the staff members are friendly and willing to help.
The office is clean and efficient.
The front desk Medical Assistants are always friendly and work hard to make sure each patient is taken care of in a timely manner. All while handling the follow of a busy office with ringing phones...Never showing stress or impatience.

I’m extremely disappointed by our recent experience with Modern Psych. My husband was scheduled for an initial appointment, which he had to call and reschedule due to work. When the time came for the rescheduled appointment, the clinic themselves canceled last minute due to a staff meeting. When we called to reschedule yet again, we were met with hostility and unprofessionalism.
The receptionist informed us that if my husband could not attend this new appointment, he would be permanently dropped as a client (before even becoming one) citing a rigid “three strikes you’re out” policy. This was both upsetting and incredibly confusing, considering his initial intake session was canceled by Modern Psych, not by us. The receptionist elaborated that he was listed as a “no show” for his two prior appointments, which was never the case. The tone and manner in which she delivered this information was incredibly unprofessional and threatening.
Throughout the call, she continuously cut me off and talked over me, making it difficult for me to ask questions or explain our side of the situation. Her tone was condescending, and the entire interaction felt dismissive and unnecessarily aggressive.
Modern Psych should reconsider the "three strikes you're out" policy when they are the ones canceling someone's very first intake session. Penalizing potential clients for circumstances beyond their control (especially when initiated by the clinic itself) is both unfair and unprofessional.
It’s disheartening to be treated like this while trying to access mental health services... which should be approached with compassion and understanding, not rigid ultimatums and poor customer service. I do not feel confident entrusting care to a practice that treats new clients this way. We will be seeking services elsewhere.

On a positive note, the space was very well decorated and clean. On a real note, the dr I seen was VERY dismissive and inattentive. I left shocked and disappointed.

First time coming in and was a little nervous , had my session with Julia and was a breath of fresh air ! Very transparent and I felt heard and seen; clean environment, very friendly . Will definitely be back and recommend to anyone !!

Terrible practice! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT ENGAGE WITH THIS BUSINESS! After much procrastination, I finally made an appointment. I filled out all their pre-session forms, uploaded my documents, and uploaded my medical history. I was scheduled for a virtual appointment. I received several reminders of my upcoming appointment. However, on the day of the appointment, I still didn’t know how to connect with them when the time came. About 12 minutes after my appointment time, a link was sent to me to join. I clicked on the link everything was set up but no counselor came on the line after waiting over 10 minutes. It is now 32 minutes past my appointment time and I still haven’t heard from them. My late wife was a LPC with national certification so I know how this is “supposed” to work. My daughter is also a counselor. This is a relatively new business, and I suspect that they didn’t investigate what would be necessary to properly run a business of this type. Obviously their clients are not critical to them, which is a terrible thing to say about a business that is supposed to be helping their clients. Maybe in a couple of years, after they “practice“ what they’re supposed to be doing, they will be ready to actually service the community. But for now, avoid them and find an established practice for your needs. I certainly hope they do not bill my insurance for this missed appointment since it was entirely their fault. Needless to say, I will be finding a different organization to handle my needs.

The location is nice and welcoming as well as the reception staff. I saw Persia who helped me get started and was super easy to talk to. Kim helped me set up follow up appointments that work for my schedule.
Everything was great from start to finish.

Really great experience so far! The staff are super friendly, especially Manal, who guided us so clearly through our first experience with seeing a psychiatrist. The doctor actually listens and cares. The whole place feels welcoming and supportive. Definitely recommend if you're looking for good psychiatrists and wholistic mental health professionals.

Best psychiatrist and therapist I have ever been to. The front office is amazing. They are so friendly and helpful and will help you as long as you are truthful and honest. Definitely recommend this place for anyone. Ever since I started coming here my life has been going so much better.
