I recently had them install a new roof and gutter system. Roof was a tear-off. They put a waterproof underlayment under the new shingles and replaced some OSB. My chimney had some bad bricks. They repaired it and tuck pointed it. Quality job and price was good. Regarding the gutter system, at first I just wanted gutter guards. I mentioned that even when the gutters aren't clogged with leaves, if there is a hard rain, the rain will go over the gutters. He explained the reason is my downspouts were too small. I had 2x3". So got a new gutter system with larger downspouts at 3x4" and guards. Pricing very reasonable on those as well.

I was nervous at first. If I picked the right company or not. I picked Modern Exterior over three other quotes. Manley because of Kasi McWhorter project consultant. She was very nice and patient with me. She answered all my questions. She took pictures with her drone and explained all the potential problem areas on my 23 year old roof. I accepted her quote and signed the same day. The price was in the middle of the others I received. The workers did an excellent job and clean up. I only had a little sweep up to do. I saw from my doorbell video while I was at work. That they took special care of my flower pots I had on the porch and front yard. They moved them out of danger and put them all back nicely after the job was done. Some of the pots I know weren't light either. Kasi even made a special trip for me to take after pictures. Because I wanted a good look of my new roof. Thank you Modern Exterior I'm glad I chose you. I'm very happy with my new roof. Special thanks to Kasi and the workers who took time to take such good care of me and my plants.

He was the person we had initial contact with, he came with the samples, explained the process and was always available for any questions we had. Really pleased with my experience with Modern Exterior to repair my leaky roof. From the initial consultation, to the actual work being completed, communication was great. I had several shingles and the entire ridge vent replaced, and the roofers did a high quality job with the repairs. The new shingles blend right in with the old ones and you can’t even tell they were replaced unless you know exactly where to look. All in all, very pleased!

They sent pdf vent examples for review, we settled in on a choice suggested by them, which I 100% approved of. They were prompt and professional on the install, preliminary communication was great. Just had our chimney siding replaced last week by Modern Exterior and the chimney looks brand new. And color match to my 20-year-old siding is very good. I also had Modern Exterior do our roof shingles early last year and no issues. I have also referred my mom and my son to Modern Exterior last year for new roofs and again no issues. Work done was prompt (one day) and professional (good communication before the job, a status update during the job and wrap up talk when done and pictures of job for insurance) and good job on clean up. I also like the 20-year warranty from Modern Exterior and that warranty is transferrable to new owner in first 10 years.

The owner of this company does not pay contractors and workers after the job is done and final inspection is complete. Refuses to answer texts, phone calls, etc to avoid paying workers what they are owed. Awful company and owner to do business with, and if you’re looking for someone who pays their workers in full and on time this is not the company to go with!
