Thann was excellent and very knowledgeable. He explained things completely. AND he spoke English, as in Australian English. I was concerned when he arrived and I saw he was Asian in appearance. I am not racist but I get scared with foreign accents because I have trouble understanding those accents. Only problem was my booking was at 4.15pm and I got home about 3pm and there was a message sent around that time saying he was about 9 mins away?? That suited me but if I missed him would he have come back?? I dunno.

Booked a thermal paste and thermal pad replacement for my Gigabyte Aorus Master 3080 Ti. On the day, the technician advised he would be using 2mm and 3mm thermal pads and I was charged accordingly. After installing the GPU, it crashed within seconds of load due to overheating, significantly worse than before the service. After three days of troubleshooting, I was able to conclude the cooler had no effective thermal contact with the GPU. When I followed up, the technician's account of what pads were used changed from what I was told and charged for on the day. He stated he had also used 1mm and 1.5mm pads as per an online schematic. (Pictures and external assessment prove otherwise). Using pads that are too thick in certain positions would cause exactly the symptoms I was experiencing and could result in physical damage to the card. The technician and management declined to arrange an inspection or re-perform the service, citing no warranty coverage. Upon further inspection, photographs of the GPU show that incorrect pad thicknesses were used on the front VRAM and the PCB has visibly warped, damage that was not present prior to the service. A formal complaint was raised and the business was given the opportunity to rectify the matter. They declined and indicated they will await contact from Fair Trading.
