Our fireplace did not seem to be drawing as efficiently as it had in years past, so a friend recommended Millie Monroe. Within 2 hours of our first call, Adam and 2 coworkers arrived and inspected, explained the issue, and cleaned out our chimney (creosote buildup), as well as demonstrated how to properly lay and build a fire to maintain a proper airflow and draught. I actually called Millie Monroe without checking the reviews first, which is unlike me. However, after scheduling our appointment to repair my gas fireplace, I then looked at the reviews and saw that I made a good choice.
Adam arrived on time, actually ahead of time and was very thorough in diagnosing the problem. He cleaned everything, was very communicative about how to work the gas fireplace, gave me information that I did not have about it, and made sure I knew how to properly work it. I did not expect him to go up on my roof to look at the chimney and cap, but he did and we found an additional issue that I was not aware of. Looks like I'll be needing a new chimney cap and they will be doing that for me in the very near future. I appreciated that he took pictures of everything and explained exactly what was needed.

Millie Monroe is simply amazing.
They have worked with us on 2 projects. We were sent to Millie Monroe by USAA insurance who told us USAA has a new service providing names of vetted contractors.
Because they did a wonderful job on the first project (tree fell on house), we contacted them for our most recent project. They transformed our kitchen-- refinished our old cabinets (beautiful now); installed new countertops, re-designed our island (removed sink, enlarged size); removed a very dated built-in desk and built a new cabinet for the space; installed new appliances, and painted the entire kitchen. They were wonderful painters-- painting other areas throughout our house, including fixing cracks in plaster walls, removing wall paper, and, painting detailed molding. Outside of the house they did masonry and water management to deal with basement leaks and built and installed 2 large chimney caps (Amazing to watch installation).
Adam Burgamy, who runs the company, is very knowledgeable, responsive, was present on the job almost every day-- in short, incredibly professional. The team were outstanding skilled craftsman--- magicians who transformed our kitchen, did painting throughout the house, and dealt with plumbing and electrical issues as needed. They were incredibly efficient and finished the job in a very short time. Most important, they were very nice people, who worked very hard and took pride in their excellent work. Guys arrived on time on the scheduled start date and completed the work needed to repair/replace two separate chimney covers on my house. Repairs consisted of replacing both covers and waterproofing the brick area around the top portion of the chimneys.
