Michael & Sun Solar Reviews

This was a great team. My project had been started by a company that did not complete the work and went out of business. Michael and Sun came in and cleaned it up. Everything is working beautifully, registering with power company complete. Thank you, what a relief

William Schock and the folks at Michael & Sun Solar are phenomenal. I was referred to them on a recommendation, and I couldn't be more pleased with the service and attention we received. William guided us through the process of financing with the Sonoma County Energy Independence Program. He was extremely knowledgeable and is a top-notch professional! You will be in good hands with Michael & Sun!

If you are considering solar and other related services, don't walk ..RUN to Michael & Sun Solar in Graton, CA. :) You will be working with people of the highest integrity; and that, unfortunately, is not always true in the solar business. We worked directly with the owner Michael and William Shock who patiently walked with us every step of the way in the process, including advising us when we applied for a SCEIP loan. And when we needed an adjustment to the design to maximize our solar collection, they came up with a plan and made that correction as part of our contract price. You will definitely get what you pay for: expert guidance in designing the system, top of the line solar panels and batteries, quality installation, and the integrity to stay the course until the system is up and running perfectly!! We couldn't be more pleased!!

These folks are fantastic, fair, and thorough. I got quotes from multiple solar installers, and this one just felt right. Wasn't trying to sell me financing or any other scams. In fact, the payback on the system ended up being on the edge, and the team really pushed me to consider whether I wanted the system. It's rare to find honest people these days.

Michael & Sun was recommended by two of our friends, and after getting 3 quotes we decided to use them as well. From the beginning we were impressed by the professionalism of the M&S team. They listened carefully to our needs both present and future, came up with a proposal which we tweaked several times, and were always available with a quick response (both pre and post-installation) when we had questions or concerns. We were facing a tight year-end deadline, and all timelines were met on schedule. Special shout out to William and Michael who were a pleasure to deal with. Our friends were right, we absolutely recommend going with Michael & Sun Solar!

Michael and Sun performed a thorough job from start to finish. Handled all permitting and inspection in a extremely professional manner. Very conscientious with planning conduit runs and installation technically and aesthetically. I will continue, to recommend Michael and Sun to all my clients planning on going solar. Thank you very much for those kind words, Donald. We certainly do strive to make every system look as good as it performs - glad we made the mark on this one!

We were extremely satisfied with Michael & Sun Solar. They were available any time for any of our many questions, even before we signed a contract. We love our solar and battery system. It's been so much fun to harvest the sun. We purchased a second electric car, and it is now the most fun game to catch as much of that free sun that we can.

It certainly can be a challenge to be as efficient with our resources as possible, and I love that you think of it as a game, Kristin - sometimes, it can even be fun! For example, my son and I like to see just how far we can drive in our hybrid before the gas motor kicks in - there are definitely some tricks to it!

So, we're picky. And Michael and Sun's team surpassed our expectations at every turn. No one wants surprises when doing this type of project and we didn't have one surprise. What they promised, they delivered. Their communication was excellent from beginning to end and it is like a well oiled machine. Except with really nice humans. We compared pricing and product from several vendors and we're so glad we selected Michael & Sun. Our installation was completed December of 2024 and we've been so happy to reap the benefits of Solar and solar backup. We no longer flinch when the power goes out in our rural location!

We are 1 year in on our 2024 solar installation from Michael & Sun. We couldn't be happier with the system. It has worked flawlessly and reduced our PGE bill dramatically -- down to a few hundred dollars annually. M&S was super helpful on our install and handled all permits and etc. We put 24 panels on our roof which seems a lot but we have an electric car and you need a lot of panels to charge a car.

We recently completed our second solar installation with Michel and Sun Solar, having previously worked with them on another property. Once again, they delivered solid results. This latest project came with some timeline challenges during the planning phase, with quite a bit of back and forth over plans and schematics. That said, once we received final approval, everything moved forward smoothly and right on schedule. The team kept us informed every step of the way, and their communication was clear and consistent throughout the entire process. The installers themselves were fantastic—very friendly, respectful of our space, and impressively tidy. It’s always a good sign when a crew treats your home like their own. Overall, we’re very happy with the outcome and grateful for Michel and the Sun Solar team's professionalism and attention to detail. Would definitely recommend them, and wouldn’t hesitate to work with them again in the future.

Can't recommend Michael and Sun enough! They did a fantastic job from start to finish. Very professional, fast, on top of it! They also worked seamlessly with our solar lender and made it very easy for us. Have been, and will continue, to recommend them to everyone I know for solar! Thank you everyone at M&S!

The photo that you've posted is a great example of how today's solid black solar panels can blend right into some roof colors, and sometimes even enhance the building!

Kind, informative, and thorough. I have had two solar phases installed by Michael with no complaints. We were experiencing a short our something and lights were flickering after the second install. I emailed them at 10am, Michael was here by noon, and the problem was fixed by 3pm. Stellar service and clear information. Thanks guys.

Michael's team was phenomenal to work with. They are pros, the ultimate when it comes to thoroughness in installation, helping the client understand how the system works, and trouble shooting the connection hiccups that can occur when going on line. They were awesome. Thank you.

We sure appreciate those sentiments, Mark - thank you very much! Our MO is to double check all aspects of each installation, during and after the process - triple, if necessary. I'm glad we were able to provide a good experience for your 'going solar'. Please give Stella an affectionate scratch behind the ear and toss of the tennis ball for me!

We were happy with MSS's services for our solar panels and battery needs. The team (from sales, design, and installation to account management and finance) was very professional and capable. They took care of many permitting applications with PG&E behind the scenes, which was helpful. In addition, they worked collaboratively with our roof certification and heat pump providers, who were also conducting active work around the house simultaneously. I am especially thankful to Michael for personally coming out to our site a few times to problem solve with these providers. Thanks, MSS, for helping our household be less reliant on the grid, which is important for those living in the rural West County area.

Thank you, Jessica, for posting such kind remarks. We're always happy to collaborate and cooperate with contractors of other trades whose projects may overlap with ours - teamwork is the way to go! And I'm pleased to hear that our team impressed you throughout all aspects of the process; installation of roof top PV, battery addition and the required paperwork. It truly is our pleasure to make it easy for anyone to 'go solar'.

Michael & Sun were fantastic! Every part of the process was clear, fair, efficient—I couldn't have asked for more out of solar partner. Even after installation they have been prompt with answering questions. Highly recommended!

Thank you very much for comments, Joe. It certainly was a fun challenge to design and install the configuration of solar panels for your project. It was imperative that we arrived prepared and with a thorough plan - that's our plan for every project. I'm happy to hear, and to say, that this one was a slam dunk despite the complexities!

Thank you, Kim, for that 5 Star Review!
It's not too often that we get to dismantle an older solar system AND find a new home for it! Those gigantic panels were a little cumbersome, but well worth the effort of relocating - the beneficiary is grateful for your generous donation, and so am I for trusting us as your solar & battery provider.
