So, we're picky. And Michael and Sun's team surpassed our expectations at every turn. No one wants surprises when doing this type of project and we didn't have one surprise. What they promised, they delivered. Their communication was excellent from beginning to end and it is like a well oiled machine. Except with really nice humans. We compared pricing and product from several vendors and we're so glad we selected Michael & Sun. Our installation was completed December of 2024 and we've been so happy to reap the benefits of Solar and solar backup. We no longer flinch when the power goes out in our rural location!

We are 1 year in on our 2024 solar installation from Michael & Sun. We couldn't be happier with the system. It has worked flawlessly and reduced our PGE bill dramatically -- down to a few hundred dollars annually. M&S was super helpful on our install and handled all permits and etc. We put 24 panels on our roof which seems a lot but we have an electric car and you need a lot of panels to charge a car.

We recently completed our second solar installation with Michel and Sun Solar, having previously worked with them on another property. Once again, they delivered solid results. This latest project came with some timeline challenges during the planning phase, with quite a bit of back and forth over plans and schematics. That said, once we received final approval, everything moved forward smoothly and right on schedule. The team kept us informed every step of the way, and their communication was clear and consistent throughout the entire process. The installers themselves were fantastic—very friendly, respectful of our space, and impressively tidy. It’s always a good sign when a crew treats your home like their own. Overall, we’re very happy with the outcome and grateful for Michel and the Sun Solar team's professionalism and attention to detail. Would definitely recommend them, and wouldn’t hesitate to work with them again in the future.

Kind, informative, and thorough. I have had two solar phases installed by Michael with no complaints. We were experiencing a short our something and lights were flickering after the second install. I emailed them at 10am, Michael was here by noon, and the problem was fixed by 3pm. Stellar service and clear information. Thanks guys.

We were happy with MSS's services for our solar panels and battery needs. The team (from sales, design, and installation to account management and finance) was very professional and capable. They took care of many permitting applications with PG&E behind the scenes, which was helpful. In addition, they worked collaboratively with our roof certification and heat pump providers, who were also conducting active work around the house simultaneously. I am especially thankful to Michael for personally coming out to our site a few times to problem solve with these providers. Thanks, MSS, for helping our household be less reliant on the grid, which is important for those living in the rural West County area.

Those gigantic panels were a little cumbersome, but well worth the effort of relocating - the beneficiary is grateful for your generous donation, and so am I for trusting us as your solar & battery provider.

After a lot of research and calling around, we finally settled on Michael & Sun Solar, Inc. for the solar installation on our roof. The entire staff was great to work with, helping us understand options, requirements, etc. They were also very flexible as we had a few plan changes as we went. It was a real plus to work with a smaller (9-person) local company that was responsive. There was no upselling or anything like that. Eventually, we developed a plan for a 24-panel system that would produce about 9 KW at our location in Forestville. When our installation day came, 3 of the staff showed up and they were very clean, professional, and thorough in completing the installation over the course of two days. Overall, it was a very good experience and I am glad we selected them. I recommend them without hesitation to anybody seeking to install solar power in their home.

These guys are incredible---from my initial contact with the rep (William) everything went smoothly without a hitch--I don't usually write reviews, but Michael and Sun are local and even the owner was on sight to make certain the operation was on schedule and in order. Michael & Sun Solar: Very professional, good quality products, aid in picking panels, excellent outreach, perfect installation and help after installation. The installation itself went without a single glitch and no troubles during the process either. Good help when things were not immediately clear to us once it was installed. For instance, when I had questions how the system produces at its max only 6.1 KwH while the calculations were for a 7.2 KwH system, they explained that the system itself uses up some of the energy it produces. Good to know. Our system is now one year old, we are a bit in the plus still, so happy all around.

Michael and Sun Solar is a great, small, local company, and anyone in Sonoma County wanting to consider rooftop solar should be calling them. My choice of them for our project was easy, because I first asked a trusted friend (who had just had a system installed) who did their work and were they happy with the work. He got several bids, chose Michael and Sun and was very happy about working with them. Then I asked my son, who had just had solar put on his roof by Michael and Son, and he also loved working with them. So I contacted William to begin the process, and liked his engineering plan to remove our 13-year-old system and replace it with a much larger system for our increased needs. William did all the permit work, kept in communication with me throughout the process, and then Michael and his installation team took over. Everyone I met on this project was professional, polite, pleasant to work with, and I continue to get follow-up from them to make certain everything is working properly. They have my strongest recommendation.

Our experience with the folks at Michael and Sun's is similar to those described in the other reviews. In 1 word - Excellence. We used M&S to install our Enphase Solar and Battery Backup 2 years ago. We hired them again last year to add additional panels when we purchased an EV. In both instances they were awesome to work with, handling everything professionally. And they thoroughly support the products they install. When you have a problem or a question, they get back to you quickly. If it cannot be resolved over the phone they are at your door. They never leave you hanging. I would hire these folks again in a heartbeat.
