Fishing with Mark and his team was the perfect Alaska experience - I could not recommend it more! We booked a year ahead and could not have been happier with the combination of lodging, guides, fish processing and overall friendliness and accommodating treatment we received. We caught sockeye and halibut and two of us shipped home huge boxes of fish! If you are looking for a fishing experience on the Kenai that will remain in your memories forever - book with Mark - you won’t be disappointed!
Top class fishing and lodging on the Kenai
From the beginning of our planning when we made reservations almost a year ago to the end of the trip, Cindy and Mark were so helpful and friendly. We spent 1 day fishing for halibut (and got lucky with some cod too) in Cook Inlet, and 1 day on the Kenai River fishing for the salmon. Our lodging in Moose Horn cabin was beautiful, comfortable and well stocked with everything we needed. The fish were fileted by our skilled guides and we dropped it off at the Glassmaker's processing office. The processing was exceptional and our fresh Alaskan fish was vacuum packaged and shipped home. Thanks to Cindy, Mark and their family for an incredible Alaskan experience!
Words could not describe how amazing our vacation with the Glassmakers was. You felt like part of the family once you got there. Everyone was so kind. The guides were a blast. Gabe and Ian made the experience fun and helped every step of the way. Including holding me up as I learned I can't walk on rocks in water. We have been home for a week and I can go back tomorrow. My husband and I had fished the entire week on the Kenai with no luck finally broke down and decided to hire a guide. Gabe did an amazing job, patiently showing us proper technique and how to keep the fish on the line. Couldn’t be happier. We both limited rather quickly. Highly recommend!

First Class Operation!
Great experience. Group of 5. Stayed at Moose Horn One Cabin. Very nice and very clean. Regular coffee maker and a Keurig. Frig, microwave, oven/stove-top. Outdoor gas grill. You can do either two king beds or 4 singles plus the couch is a pull out sleeper sofa. Fished two days on Kenai, one day of fly-out across Cook Inlet to Wolverine creek. (Must do in my opinion) and one day of Halibut fishing. (we launched at Ninilchik beach. (I won’t spoil that for those who never have 😂🤣). All in all a great experience as usual with Mark, his family and guides. Gabe, Clayton, and Mark himself. I first fished with Mark in 97-98 timeframe. Always professional. We had one hiccup this year and that was the Halibut day. The motor seized up about 20 minutes into the ride out. We fished while they attempted to get the motor going. Caught 4 Halibut in shallow water. Got towed in. That was the only negative and those things just happen. The crew was very professional and tried everything they could but the motor decided it was done. The fly-out day is a must for anyone who hasn’t done one. You will get views of a lifetime, plus catching fish. The sockeye were slower this year and we came a week earlier than last year but the fishing was still good and we have over 100lb of fillets to take home. I have too many pictures and videos to post, but I’ll include some good ones. If you don’t know about the fish cleaning, Mark and his family do it in-house. The fish are cleaned, vacuum sealed, frozen and can be packed in airline approved boxes. No dry ice used, so no issues with the airlines. (I’m a captain at a major airline and you won’t have any problem shipping and the fish will stay frozen at least 24hrs). There is plenty of places to get food and plenty to see and do close by. Don’t hesitate to book with Mark and Cindy. First class operation!! Oh and the moose laying down was right outside the kitchen window. No kidding!

Amazing Trip. Just Book It.
Stayed for 3 nights and fished 2 days on the Kisalof river with the glassmakers guide Ian. Mark and Cindy are wonderful. Very nice people and accommodating for all of your needs. We saw moose out our window both mornings and everyone caught at least 1 fish. If I could give 10 stars I would. Perfect trip for a whole family.

When you come to Alaska you dream about the fishing experiences you will have. That is what happened on our trip. We had a wonderful fishing experience by booking our Halibut fishing charter through Mark Glassmaker. From the moment I called to book our trip to the moment we picked up our fish to take home, everything was organized, clear, and easy. Mark set up our charter with wonderful captains that made everyone comfortable and equipped to catch our limit, which we did! The processing and freezing our fish for our trip home to Arizona was convenient and easy. We picked up our boxes early in the morning for our travel to Anchorage and the boxes flew home with us. I highly recommend booking any fishing charter with Mark Glassmaker. My only regret is not booking a Salmon River trip also. Next time it is a must!

We could not be happier and feel more blessed than we feel right now!!! We went out on a float plane trip to fish and see bears. Our Captain was Ian, our pilot was Nate and another Captain we met was Flip. All these guys were TOP NOTCH! The wee perfect gentleman. I have Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis. I was extremely hesitant and worried about going on this trip! I wasn’t sure if it would be too much for myself and the fisherman around me. Everyone took such great care of me and made sure that I was safe and enjoyed myself!!!! We had a blast, catching all of our fish and getting to know the other fisherman! We got to see two adolescent grizzly bears, trying their paws at Fishing To no avail! Then a big, angry male grizzly bear came in and chased them off. We watched him for a time when the young ones came back to see what he was up to. This big old fella didn’t like that much and chase them up a tree!! We then went to a hidden lake, Where we came upon a Mama grizzly with 3 cups! We were able to watch them for quite a bit of time playing with each other, and climbing trees! Mama was trying to fish but had to keep stopping and go get them, however they didn’t wanna listen! Lol We also got to see seals, tons of ducks, and eagles I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!!! They went out of their way to take incredible care of me and to make sure I felt safe which I did! 10 out of 10 STARS!!!
