They made us feel welcome right away, and the lodging was spotless, comfortable, and clearly cared for. On the water, the guides were on another level. They knew exactly where to go, put us on fish immediately, and kept the energy high the entire day. Whether it was explaining techniques, helping land big fish, or just swapping stories between bites, they made the whole experience unforgettable. You can tell they genuinely love what they do. The little things stood out too—great communication leading up to the trip, top-notch gear, safety handled perfectly, and the kind of customer service that makes you feel like more than just another booking. This was our first trip to Alaska and Alaska Fishing with Mark Glassmaker. Mark and his wife Cindy handled all our scheduling, bookings, and fish processing, making the process as simple as possible so we could enjoy Alaska. Instructions were clear and sent out each night prior to when we fished. We stayed at Moose Horn 1, which was a cozy two-bedroom cabin that had all the amenities we needed. Our guides Logan and Clayton were on time, considerate, made quick work of catching our limits, and filleted our catch at the docks each day. Mark and Cindy run a well-oiled machine, and I would not hesitate to use them again if we return.

They also made fish processing incredibly easy: each day we just dropped off our catch, and it was professionally packed, frozen, and ready for the flight home. All of our fish made it back to Texas completely frozen and in perfect condition. Highly recommend them for an incredible Alaskan fishing adventure!

110% complete outstanding and stress free! Mark and Cindy so patiently answered my many questions for how best to do this fishing trip. From waders to pack/borrow to where to process the fish and how my husband could get me to the airport to make my class reunion and still get back to fish with his guide. We had an amazing guy's trip in Alaska with Mark in early July. We did 3 days of salmon fishing including 1 flyout day, 1 day of halibut and one day of trout. Everything was executed flawlessly. Guides are top notch and we hit our limit everyday. We also used Mark to process our fish and the experience was very good. All of our fish was still frozen solid when we returned home from the airport after a 24 hour return journey.

Not Recommended – Poor Attitude Overshadowed the Trip Mark Glassmaker was rude, dismissive, and made the entire experience uncomfortable. After tipping the girls 30% for cleaning fish, he counted the money and told us, “That’s a little light. Make it up to them tomorrow.” Completely unprofessional. We were never told to communicate comings and going’s from fishing. The guides themselves were excellent — they were the only highlight. But the lodge was average, communication was poor, and Mark made it clear he cares more about money than people. He never introduced himself to any of us in our party or even ask how our experience was. Wouldn’t book here again. There are better-run lodges in Alaska where guests are actually treated with respect.

Fishing with Mark Glassmaker is a fulfilling and exhilarating experience - a thrill of a lifetime! This is our third time fishing with Mark Glassmaker. Our first visit was in 2020, and our last visit was mid-July 2025. Without exception every part of our fishing experience has been top notch. His accommodations are also exceptional - clean, modern and beautiful. Being an older couple, we appreciate the care he has taken to deliver us to fishing locations on the Kenai River that are matched with our capabilities. Mark and Cindy also matched us with an amazing guide, Scotty, who is a knowledgeable and patient teacher. Every time we have fished for sockeye, we have limited. In addition, Mark and Cindy booked halibut excursions for us out of Ninilchik. Again, superb fishing experiences - limiting each time. We could not recommend a more considerate, friendly and full-service fishing guide company. We are definitely returning!

Fabulous - yet another week this year with Mark and Cindy - they are phenomenal and care a ton about their product from beginning to end of our trip. Daily texts or calls to verify information for fishing the next day were greatly appreciated. Always with a smile and wiling to help. Mark substituted a trout trip on the fly without any issues. Great accommodations. Nothing but praise for Mark and Cindy - keep up the great customer service and tight lines always. They even have brought fish processing inside their system now - nothing against Tanner's , but now it is even easier and better as you know you are getting your own fish every single time.
