I recently had to schedule the final visit for my elderly dog, and saying goodbye was incredibly difficult. The team at Meridian Veterinary Clinic was compassionate, supportive, and caring throughout the entire process, which made a very hard day a little easier. Their kindness and professionalism gave me comfort and reassurance during such an emotional time. I also have another dog, and we look forward to continuing regular check-ups with this clinic. Wasted an entire day I could’ve been getting my cat help because they failed to tell me that for my full time indoor cat which they have record of, they need rabies vax. Oh, you’re at a vet and should be able to just give the vax right? Nahh doctors are in a meeting and can’t step out to give a vaccine right now. WHO was I scheduled to see then? I've been taking all my pets to Meridian for several years now. I cannot express how wonderful everyone here is. From the front desk, to the exam room and beyond. Everyone is so very kind and caring. Always ready to greet you with a smile, ask how your day is going, and show a genuine level of concern and care for both the pets and people that come through their doors.
All of the veterinarians and their assistants are extremely knowledgeable and skilled. They have always gotten to the root of my pets problems on the first visit and started their journey of healing right away. They offer and explain every option available for your pets care and treatment very well. Detailing exactly what is done in each procedure, even down to the little details. Like how they'll be positioning your pet for scans. Things you would never even know or see, but they tell you everything to give you peace of mind and all the info you need to make an informed decision.
Even giving you the estimated costs of anything that would fall outside of the standard visit and exam fees. They always do their best to make sure you know the details and costs involved in everything.
Only going forward with things when/if you give them the go ahead. I appreciate that so much. They never do anything that leads to you be surprised when you see the bill or the results of your pet's care. As everything is exactly how they described it to you beforehand.
The only thing I could possibly say is a "downside" is that they can be a bit pricier than some other practices. Nothing crazy, but its noticeable. However, you definitely get what you pay for, and the small increase in pricing is nothing compared to the amazing service and care I know I'll get at Meridian every single time.
I've tried other practices and low-cost alternatives, and they've always had some level of hiccups, frustrations, impatient staff, etc. One of the low-cost practices I went to for neutering and fixing a hernia on one of my cats even botched the surgery and made the hernia worse because their surgeon was out that day and the assistants were performing all the surgeries. Something they failed to mention at any point until I called them back in a panic, after the first surgery, because the hernia was twice the size as before and the stitches were mangled and not fully closed in some spots.
In conclusion: If you're looking for the utmost best place to take your pets, this is a practice I will recommend every single time.

Their care and respect for pets and their owners have apparently been discarded for presumably profit. They have made changes where they will only approve prescriptions provided by them at inflated prices. The lady they have working the front desk also lies about how the changes have been communicated, as they are only posted on their front desk. Also, they do not have medications on hand that were scheduled to be administered one month in advance.

You are also still welcome to order through Chewy or other online pharmacies. All you need to do is pick up a written prescription from our office and then follow Chewy’s steps for submitting it on their site.

Facility is unwilling to trial natural strategies and environmental modifications to address anxiety with senior dogs, even for loyal 25+ year customers. Rather, the vet prefers to prescribe pre-sedation protocols involving home administration of 4 sedative medications prior to a COMPLETE full sedation protocol administered upon pet drop off. Then facility will charge expensive rates for limited skilled services including an “adult prevention exam” on a completely over sedated senior dog. There was no effort or communication/education regarding need for additional sedation protocols or care/concern on how these protocols may impact the health of my senior dog. There has been a shift in approach/culture at this facility over the years which is disheartening. It is easy and quick to administer 700.00 of services to a completely sedated dog, I’m also curious about the profitability of all the extra prescribed medications for a brief 15 minute treatment session. Sad :(.
