I didn't think the care was good, our dog was sent back home without any meds whatsoever. He has a large mass in his mouth and can not close his mouth, plus he has diarrhea and the only thing she recommend was for him to see a dentist, which he does need to do that and said to continue doin what you been doin at home. I honestly thought we were at an emergency vet, and that this was the best place for him to get the help that he needed and still needs so badly, i was wrong about bringing him here. considering his mouth can't close due to the large mass.
Then the med vet dentist, that was recommended by her I thought would be an emergency dentist, but they can't even get him in till June. What the hell are we even doing here? Cause I don't understand none of this not the med vet not doin anything, and I thought if she was recommending a med vet dentist, that it was goin be a emergency dentist, but if we can't get him in till June knowing he can't close his mouth i guess they,
don't think its a big enough emergency, It will be the last time here for seein the vet and the dentist !!

Pj, we are sorry to hear that you left feeling this way while trying to get help for your beloved companion. When a dog is dealing with something as concerning as an oral mass and other symptoms, families understandably want clear answers, immediate direction, and confidence that the right next steps are being taken. As an emergency hospital, our team’s role is to assess urgent medical needs, provide support based on what can be safely addressed in that setting, and guide families toward the specialty care that may be needed for conditions requiring advanced dental or surgical evaluation. Those specialty services are scheduled separately, and a referral to that team is not a reflection that your dog’s condition was unimportant, but rather that the recommended next step required a different level of focused expertise. We understand how frustrating and discouraging that can feel when you are looking for immediate relief, and we appreciate you sharing your perspective. If you feel a further discussion would be helpful, please call and ask to speak with a member of our leadership team, or email your review, contact information, and any additional details to reviews@medvet.com so it can be shared with the appropriate team.
I’ve heard some bad things about this place, and I just recently got an F1 Savannah cat and was thinking of taking him here, until one of my friends reminded me that this place was the same place I’ve went to with her before and it’s true that all they care about is money. I’m sure that doesn’t go for everyone that works there, but for majority it can be. Prayers goes out to all those whom have had bad experiences and have had losses because of poor service.

I have been more than pleased with how I have been treated, but more importantly I have been very impressed with the treatment that my loyal loving Shotsy has received while in the care of Dr Owen and his support team.
Don’t ask about the cost. When you have a pet as valuable and loving as my German-shepherd Shotsy, money is not measured, only positive health matters.
Dr Owen’s assistant, Rianne is most pleasant and puts me and Shotsy at ease knowing Shotsy is being well cared for when in the care of a professional such as Rianne.

After getting a second and third opinion I realized these people do not care about anything but the money. This is the kind of place people warn you about.

Not a good experience. We saw an internal medicine doctor for our kitty developing bloody noses. The doctor was okay. Brought him back for an emergency visit and we live over an hour away. I called multiple times to confirm bringing him and never once did they tell us it was a 6-8 hour wait. They decided to tell us that only AFTER looking at him inside his carrier, and multiple people LOOKED at him and deemed him obviously not emergent. I called literally three times leading up to that, and not once did they tell me about the wait. He was mouth breathing the whole way there, still having lots of blood. Our boy only made it a few more weeks from this attempted visit. He had nasal lymphoma and MedVet wasted our time and money. We went to Nora’s ER vet, and then later sought DX and treatment from NIVES and VCA. MedVet was not compassionate and I would not recommend. You’re just a number to them and their services are much more expensive than other similar facilities.

Allison, we’re sorry to hear how upsetting this experience was for you. We understand how distressing it is to travel that far with a beloved companion who is struggling and then feel that the expectations for the visit were not clearly communicated before you arrived. In emergency veterinary medicine, patients are triaged based on how they are presenting in the moment, and wait times can change quickly depending on the needs of pets already receiving lifesaving care or those whose conditions worsen unexpectedly. Even so, communication about anticipated delays matters, especially when a family is trying to decide whether to make a long drive for care. We are sorry this did not feel clear or compassionate during your visit. If you would like to discuss your experience with a member of our leadership team, please call the hospital directly, or email this review, any additional details you would like to share, and your best contact information to reviews@medvet.com so it can be shared with the appropriate parties. Our hearts are with you as you remember your cherished feline.

We took our cat in for a known issue. It was after hours on a Thursday and we needed it handled. For $3,500 I received no communication from the clinic. So I called at 10 AM on Friday and was told our cat was recovering and MedVet would reach out for a pick up. At 4 PM (on Friday), I had still not received a call. So I called back, but was unable to speak with anyone. About 15 minutes later, the on duty ER doctor called and told me our cat needed to stay overnight for another $2,000. Obviously an unexpected phone call since I was told she was fine and recovering 6 hours earlier. I indicated to the ER doctor that was not right as additional treatment was not something that had been discussed at 10 AM and that our personal vet could have completed the treatment for non-emergency pricing had I known at 10 AM when I called. After talking to our vet, we decided that she would be fine over the weekend and would go in to our vet on Monday morning. The cat was fine over the weekend and checked out fine on Monday. The doctor was trying to wring another $2,000 out of us (which is what it seemed like on Friday). Will not be back. Do not recommend. They are using your emotional attachment to your pets as a weapon to squeeze you for every dollar, in our case an extra $2,000 (would have totaled $5,500) which was clearly not necessary.

We’re sorry to hear how frustrating this experience was. In emergency and specialty veterinary healthcare, hospitalized patients are monitored continuously, and recommendations can change as doctors assess how a patient is recovering, what they are observing clinically, and what they believe is needed to support the safest next steps in care. Those changes are never intended to feel unexpected or financially driven, but we understand how upsetting it would be to feel that the communication around your cat’s status, discharge expectations, and continued care was unclear or inconsistent. Our team’s role is to make recommendations based on the patient’s medical needs and to be transparent about associated costs so families can make informed decisions for their beloved companion. We are glad to hear your cat did well over the weekend and checked out well with your family veterinarian. If you would like to discuss your experience with a member of our leadership team, please call the hospital directly. Another option is to email this review, any additional details you would like to share, and your best contact information to reviews@medvet.com, and we will ensure it reaches the appropriate parties.
Staggeringly incompetent customer service at this location, avoid it at all costs! My wife brought in our dog for an emergency visit due to a large gash in his face. When she arrived, they told her the wait would be one hour. Two and a half hours later, my wife left in tears as she was completely ignored by the staff there and given zero indication anyone would be seeing our dog any time soon. When I called to try to get an explanation, the receptionist had the audacity to say "oh, they went to see her five minutes after she left". Yeah, sure they did... if you care about your pet, never take them here for the good of their well-being. The people who work at this location are an absolute joke. Completely embarrassing.

Cameron, we’re sorry to hear how frustrating this experience was for your family. In emergency veterinary medicine, patients are seen based on the severity of their condition rather than the order in which they arrive, and wait times can change quickly as more critical patients come in or hospitalized patients require immediate lifesaving care. We understand that this is not always apparent from the lobby, and when that process is not explained clearly, it can leave families feeling unsupported and unsure of what to expect. We are sorry if the communication during your wife’s visit felt unclear or lacking. Our doctors and team have dedicated their lives to emergency and specialty veterinary healthcare, and we strive to provide both medically appropriate care and clear, compassionate guidance for the families who trust us with their beloved companions. We appreciate the feedback, as it helps us continue working to exceed expectations. Most of all, we hope your dog received the care he needed and is feeling better.

My cat Moo has been to MedVet a couple of times for ER and cardiology. When my younger, usually healthy kitten Raven started having vomiting, diarrhea, and labored breathing after her routine vaccines, I knew I had to bring her here immediately. They brought her back immediately as she was in anaphylactic shock, and saved her life! She stayed overnight and got plasma for her condition. Surprisingly, my bill was less than my estimate which was a pleasant surprise considering how thorough the team was with her treatment. It was comforting to know she was in good hands. Thank you to the ER and hospitalist team for taking care of my sweet Raven.
