I'm in my second year with McComb now and my time with them has flown by. I'm staying in the Arcadia building, the rooms are spacious, well maintained and the team in the office are super friendly and always willing to help.
If you're a younger student you'll probably enjoy all the activities they run for the houses, to get people mingling like the pizza night or pumpkin carving competition.
My flat mates have all been good (luckily) this last two years and McComb have left us to it, only this year there was a slight problem and it was resolved pretty much instantly.
never had any issues with any staff, thought they were all really nice people and i appreciate all the support they tried to give us. i do think the price is too expensive though. for us personally we had problems. the people we lived with caused a lot of issues and an email would be sent or a meeting would be held but it continued and it felt like they took no further action. we understand and appreciate that we don’t see the behind the scenes though, and they are trying to help. during our stay the communal tv didn’t work the whole time we stayed there, there were issues with laundry machines. when i moved in i had issues with mini fridge and my shower, my extractor fan didn’t work in my en-suite and they never fixed it, you’d think they’d check this stuff before moving in. after we moved out we got emailed with multiple charges to pay after we had negative experiences during our stay.

My experience renting a Studio apartment from McComb has been everything I expected and more. The team talked me through the options for accommodation and showed me alternatives so I can better weigh up and pick my preference. They answered all my questions and queries with confidence and reassurance and have a perfect balance of informal friendliness whilst maintaining complete professional understanding and procedure throughout.
There are lovely touches to their processes which make you feel very welcome. Such as having various events on throughout the year, which is particularly useful when sharing with other students, as it encourages getting to know your flatmates socially.
The team also accommodated my earlier course start date and have been nothing short of exceptional every step of the way. It is these personal customer care touches, amongst everything else, which sets them apart from competitors.
I recently attended a viewing with McComb Students and Antonia was very helpful, polite and answered all my questions with professionalism and ease. Thank you, McComb Students!
UPDATE: I stayed with McComb Students in Antonia Court for the 2024/25 academic year and honestly couldn’t fault it! What a lovely accomodation it is! The head office and maintenance are extremely helpful and make you feel welcome instantly! Definitely recommend!

I could not recommend Mccombs Students enough! I have lived with them for the past two years while completing my degree and it has been absolutely amazing and it has been everything I could have wished for and more!
Antonia, Sophie and Ella are simply just amazing, always friendly, approachable, and willing to go the extra mile to help with absolutely anything.
I also cannot say enough good things about Richie the maintenance man. Super responsive, reliable, and always happy to help. No job is too big or too small, and everything gets done quickly and to a very high standard.
They have made my experience at university so much better and I will always be grateful for all of them and the accommodation that they provided!
If you have not decided on your accommodation choice yet for next year, seriously, look no further. McComb Student Accommodation is by far the best , and I would give them 10* as they look after their occupants 24/7. My daughter had a maintenance issue on a Friday evening, alternative support was given , and Richie the maintenance staff resolved it the following morning, what impeccable support. In addition to this the entire team are so professional and give 100% to their roles, peace of mind when parents live a distance away. Staying with them for my daughters 3rd year, no hesitation.
I lived with McComb Students for my third and final year of uni and it was 100% the best choice I ever made. The rooms are absolutely stunning. There is a maintenance team who are fab, any time I reported an issue no matter how minor it was usually fixed before 48 hours and a cleaning team who made sure the kitchen was clean and the bins were emptied. I honestly couldn’t recommend enough.

We’ve had an amazing few years with McComb, the team is truly wonderful—Sophie, Ella, and Antonia in the office are so lovely, welcoming, and always go out of their way to help with anything. Richie the handyman is an absolute star, always kind and quick to sort anything!
It’s well known around Ormskirk that student letting agencies can be hit or miss, but McComb are in a league of their own. They genuinely care about their tenants and make renting with them an absolute pleasure. If I could give more than five stars, I would—thank you all for everything!

I stayed with McCombs for 2 years in a Bronze Plus room in Beta House on the main street in Ormskirk.
I loved my stay. My room was homely and always felt spacious, i never felt like i didn't have enough room to live and move around. Also the size of the bathroom is great for one person. The staff were always friendly and allowed you to make your room your own.
The people who i lived with changed between my first and second year but all of the people were friendly and if i ever had any issues the McCombs staff sorted it out instantly.
My room was only a short walk to the bus and train station and a 10ish min walk to campus.
I would highly recommend living with McCombs if they go to university at Edge Hill.
Great accommodation for students highly recommend. No issues with moving in/ out or contracts- very simple and straight forward. Staff are lovely and helpful and have helped me out a few times with things like being locked out by personally coming by to the property to help me out and were really on the ball when dealing with an anti social tenant in the building. I was living in Antonia court and cant recommend it enough with the proximity to uni and the living standards inside
