Came back from holiday and had difficulty with opening and unlocking the front door
Handle would not operate and was unable to lock as door had also seemed to have dropped
The engineer Ian quickly assessed the issues stating the options and prices for a repair
I agreed the price and Ian replaced the door handle with a new handle and assembly he then adjusted the door hinges
The door lock works perfectly and all was completed in 20 minutes
Ian cleaned up the area and left the old handle assembly for us to dispose off
A perfect and professional result with minimum fuss

I booked Max the locksmith in the Nottingham area on a none emergency appointment, Max attend the property promptly the following day. Max serviced both my composite doors, replaced the door handles, realigned the doors one of which I couldn’t lock and replaced the mechanisms which were failing and cracked due to my stubbornness in using WD40 against the advice of the manufacturer, I won’t make that mistake again. Max educated me on the correct way to maintain my doors which actually work better than when they were originally installed.

What can I say? Sent a Whatsapp message at 8.20pm for help with two dodgy windows. Both fixed by ten pm! Ian was very friendly and professional. The problems were sorted for a good price and I have no hesitation in using the company again. I recommend Max the Locksmith to everyone!

Max came over to Cotgrave within a couple of hours of my call, to repair a faulty/worn out front door mechanism. He was exrremely knowledgeable, very professional and very polite. He did an excellent job and explained everything I wanted to know (I'm an engineer so I'm very nosey when it comes to this kind of thing). He had replacement parts with him already, which given the number of different doors/locks/jobs etc he encounters, was a pleasant surprise. The cost was higher than I expected but that was down to the parts as it's quite an expensive door. I would recommend him to anyone.

Same day service even on Sunday when I couldn’t lock the door. Who knew extreme temperature could cause a problem for a door that was iffy before

Sunday or not, a door you can't lock isn't one to leave until Monday. You're right about the heat too — a door that was already a bit iffy only needs to swell slightly before the mechanism stops throwing properly. Thanks Kathy. — Max

Max came out at short notice on a Sunday to replace a broken front door handle and ended up replacing 3 inferior locks with higher-security upgrades. Max was on time, professional and gave great security advice. Would definitely use again!

Explained the problems
My son's house, he and fiancée moved into had front and back door problems. Would open and shut properly and the front door mechanism wasn't very smooth to operate. He checked both doors and explained the problems. He adjusted what he needed to make them work and pointed out what needed to be replaced. We agreed on the best fix and that was carried out. Perfect

Upvc patio and window lock replacement
Great comms with Max, called him on August 5th and agreed a 2 pm next day appointment.
Received a message saying he could be sooner on August 6th and a final message saying he would be with us within 30 mins.
2 bathroom windows were stuck so we were struggling for good ventilation.
Patio door also stuck so could not get out to the garden.
Max was very understanding, gave us a good quote and he was straight onto the tasks in hand.
He is a very professional and cleaned up after himself, gave me tips on future maintenance and we were very happy with his service.
We would definitely recommend.
