I recently engaged Cormac to assist with estimating a large residential construction project and was genuinely impressed. His work was thorough and detailed — every line item was considered, nothing was glossed over, and the output gave me real confidence going into the quoting stage.
He was also generous with his time, happy to walk through his methodology and answer questions without rushing. That kind of transparency is rare and genuinely useful when you're trying to understand the numbers, not just receive them.
I'd recommend Cormac without hesitation to anyone needing accurate, professional estimating on significant volumes of construction work.

We highly recommend Matrix Estimating for anyone needing clarity and confidence around building costs. We engaged Matrix Estimating after receiving a builder’s proposal that lacked a clear cost breakdown, leaving us feeling overwhelmed and unable to make a confident decision about proceeding with our build.
Cormac completely changed that by delivering a new, detailed, and categorised estimate that brought structure and transparency to the project. He took the time to walk us through the cost breakdown and clearly explained the underlying methodology, including the assumptions and benchmarks used. This enabled us to make informed budget decisions with a solid understanding of where each cost originated.
From the outset, Cormac was professional, responsive, and delivered exactly what we needed. His report met our brief perfectly - easy to interpret, methodically structured, and underpinned by industry-standard metrics and evidence-based logic.
Thanks to Matrix Estimating, we’re now in a much stronger position to engage with our builder on a definitive, realistic budget. Cormac listened, supported us through the process, and delivered a service that reflects both technical expertise and practical insight.

I needed to find a quantum estimator to provide a cost report for residential property construction on a self built property 20 years ago for CGT purposes. I actually did not know that this is what I needed, but Google led me to the amazing human that is Cormac at Matrix Estimating. He patiently listened to my request and drew out the information required to prepare such a document. The amazing part is that he prepared a detailed report for me to use as a guide (at no charge) and referred me on to an ATO accredited estimator.
He then followed up to make sure that I had been successful in getting a report.
Cormac you truly are one of a kind and I appreciate your generosity and professional advice. I have no hesitation in recommending your services to others and wish you well in your endeavours to achieve ATO accreditation as well.
