Amazing quality food, cozy environment you can feel the hospitality in every bit.
Front house team superb the Gentleman and the Lady always with a smile on.
Kitchen team tidy, professional and all the food piping hot, vibrant dishes with deep flavours.
The pasta dish was superb & balanced the sauce well liaisoned, can’t fault anything.
Well done Mara team 👏
Wasn't sure what to expect, but was blown away with the food, the service and the standard set. Really great experience and one that could make me a regular upon my free time. Booze was also ace, clean pipes and ice cooling beer. Obscure but flavoursome wine! Can't wait for next visit.
One of the best meals I’ve had! Every single dish was exceptional, tasted utterly amazing! I dined with three other people who all agreed there wasn’t a dish / element we didn’t like. Would highly recommend ordering the arancini, they were addictive!! The service was great, every one was very welcoming and the restaurant itself is lovely inside, I love the open kitchen design. This is my new favourite restaurant in Aberdeen and can guarantee I’ll be back again and again. Thank you for a fantastic meal!
Was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. Most definitely underrated and not talked about enough. Highly recommend if you are looking for a cosy place with good food and wine! Had the mackerel, duck, prawns, tagliatelle, MARAncini, tiramisu they were all so very good. No photos because we were too hungry and just scoffed and stuffed our faces as soon as the food arrived
Great food, excellent service! It’s an expensive experience, but a good one! I went for lunch with my friend, we had 2 drinks each, shared starter, small plate each and tasting plate each … it cost us 130£ with tips. The booking system is not good as you need to send an email to get reservation and takes some time a long time to get an answer, but I was told that this will change next week or so …
Booked here for early evening drinks and food. Our server was extremely friendly and helpful. We both decided to go for the ‘special’ which was pasta served with chanterelle mushrooms in a truffle creamy sauce. It was delicious and the pasta was al dente which was cooked perfectly. We had sides of Parmesan coated chips - amazing !
For drinks we decided to have a couple of glasses of chilled Prosecco. For dessert we shared vanilla cheesecake with blackcurrant sorbet which again was lovely. I can highly recommend Mara for their excellent food and service. Can’t wait to return.
Honestly just excellent. Last minute decided to try and get a table for lunch on a Friday and luckily they had one available. The staff were super knowledgeable and friendly. The food was just insane. The flavours were amazing and unlike anything I've had in Aberdeen. The wine was delicious.
The food here is truly excellent, and so is the service. The only issue we had was one large group near us who thought it was acceptable to shout and swear. I’m no stranger to bad language and drunken behaviour, but there’s a time and a place. It’s called having manners, respect and consideration for your fellow diners. In our case, the management decided not to do anything about it, even after this being brought to their attention multiple times. Unfortunately this problem isn’t unique to this establishment. It’s just a shame it’s tolerated, and an unknown level of revenue will never cross your path.
Ratings do and should reflect customer experience. Ours could have been better.
We were kindly given a free bottle of wine, which shouldn’t have been necessary; and should have been paid for by the other group.
I know dozens of folk who simply don’t go and eat out anymore because they can’t be bothered listening to the nonsense from a certain demographic. Shame really.
We visited on Friday, 8th August, and honestly had the best time. There was a small mix-up with our table when we arrived, but the staff handled it so well and made sure we were looked after from start to finish. They brought over canapés and drinks while sorting everything out, which was such a nice touch, and throughout the evening nothing felt like too much trouble. They were more than happy to tweak dishes to suit our tastes, and you could really see and taste how fresh everything was. The whole atmosphere was relaxed and full of good vibes, and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier or more welcoming. Big thanks to Alan, Rianna and Niesa you really made the night for us. Can’t wait to come back!
Had my first visit to Mara today ..the food was exceptional but...I have to say the highlight of my visit was the waitress ..I think her name was Rose 🌹.she had on an olive green satin shirt ,forgive me if I'm wrong..she made our experience fantastic from her advice on how much we should order, keeping our wine and water cool, taking the blind down and providing us with a fan , without even being asked. I loved her personality and her funny stories what an asset this girl is to the Mara team she is fabulous ..along with the fabulous food
thankyou ❤️
Excellent. Really excellent.
Popped in with my other half who’d heard great things. Just for a glass of wine… at first. Then sitting by the bar overlooking the kitchen it was only a matter of minutes before we were on a journey of food discovery. Brilliantly looked after by the bartender. A proper buzz going on around us too. A wee gem of a place. Top marks.
We’ve been to Mara Wine Bar three times now and are consistently blown away by the quality of the food, it’s truly raising the bar in Aberdeen, and at incredible value. The Parmesan chips are a must, the arancini are always spot-on, and the specials never disappoint. They cater thoughtfully to all dietary needs, and the wine list is excellent, with favourites like Montepulciano and Barolo. The relaxed setting makes it perfect for any occasion, and booking is refreshingly easy just give the friendly team a call. We’ve even managed to get in last minute it’s lovely they try their best to cater for walk ins where possible. Ross and Carolina have created something really special here. It’s quickly become a go-to for us in the city. Highly recommended!
Best food in Aberdeen at the moment, if you be tapas and small plates give it a visit! The food is amazing, every bite was a delight and we had a very nice wine. Staff and lovely and attentive and you can watch the chefs slaving away in their open kitchen. Seriously go visit Mara. Rubbish photos attach
