I was really excited about this table and truly wanted to love it. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the quality and finish and contacted the seller within about 10 minutes of delivery. I initially packaged it back up, then unpacked it again to provide additional photos as requested. After two days of back-and-forth, the solution offered was to ship it back to be re-sanded and refinished. I appreciated the offer, but wasn’t comfortable having a brand-new custom piece reworked when I was unhappy with what I received. I requested a return and refund, but that was not offered. I understand natural variation in handmade wood; my concern was the overall quality for the price and, ultimately, that more wasn’t done to ensure I was happy with such a significant custom purchase.

Custom handmade walnut pieces feature natural grain variation as part of their character; this isn't a defect to be refunded, but a feature of the material itself. I care deeply about my customers' satisfaction, which is why I offered to refinish the table if there were surface defects—and clarifying that refinishing cannot alter grain chatoyancy—along with providing unfinished samples. The lighter areas in the photo result from natural grain shifts and how light is hitting the end of the table. I also believe in maintaining integrity in my work and my business. I can't offer refunds for natural wood characteristics—a principle that protects both my customers and my craft. If there are surface defects, I'm always willing to address them. I stand behind my work and the quality evident in the photo.
