We had a bad experience. Our children went there for several years. On their last check up, we were told one child had six cavities, and another had four cavities, so a total of 10 cavities. I was surprised to hear this and asked to speak to the dentist since I was not at the appointment. I asked several times to talk with the dentist to understand what was going on but the dentist declined to talk with me and said I would need to make an appointment. Meanwhile they were aggressively trying to schedule the work on the kids. This all seemed strange so we went for a second opinion. That new pediatric dentist identified ZERO cavities. I hate to think of what kind of experience we avoided by leaving the Dental Equation. They wanted to put our kids through a lot of pain, not to mention charge us a large expense, and it was completely unnecessary.

We’re very sorry to hear that you felt unheard and we could not accommodate your request.
We appreciate the opportunity to clarify our process.
Parents should always feel informed, respected, and comfortable asking questions about their child’s care. Unfortunately, if one of the parents is not present during a visit, and such parent has concerns regarding the findings or treatment recommended we require an in office consultation rather than a phone discussion. We understand that this can feel inconvenient, but our intention is always to provide careful and clear care.
This is because:
• We prefer to review the X-rays and clinical findings together with a parent in person to clearly show what we’re seeing and answer questions with full transparency.
• Treatment recommendations can only be thoroughly explained with visual support.
Additionally, our dentist always supports her diagnoses with photographs of the clinical findings, as well as photos of any decay identified during treatment. We do this for parent education and peace of mind, so families can clearly see and understand what we are recommending and why.
We also want to emphasize that maintaining the recommended recall schedule is very important, as regular checkups allow us to monitor changes over time and provide the the most accurate, timely care.
Our dentist stands firmly behind the diagnoses and the clinical processes we follow. I understand that you may not be familiar with our process; however, any patient or parent who has been to our office knows that we always provide photographs of our findings, as well as photos taken during treatment—whether cleaning or removing decay. We do this for patient and parent education, and to offer reassurance through full transparency.
It’s unfortunate that you felt the need to seek a second opinion rather than taking the time to come in for the in-person consultation we recommended, as that visit would have allowed us to review the findings together, answer your questions thoroughly, and provide the clarity and reassurance every parent deserves. Our goal is always to work collaboratively with families, and we would have welcomed the opportunity to discuss your children’s care directly with you.
We also want to emphasize that children in our office do not experience pain while receiving treatment, as we take great care to ensure their comfort and use techniques tailored to minimize stress and discomfort.
