Hola Johan, Thank you for your review. We were delighted that you chose to stay with us at the start of your honeymoon. I understand that Estrella even prepared a special breakfast for you, complete with honeymoon decorations (we were on vacation at the time). Congratulations again on your wedding! Johan, given your exceptionally low ratings across all areas, we genuinely regret that you weren’t entirely happy with your stay. . However, I think you may have been so focused on the wedding preparations that you didn’t have a chance to look at our website carefully. 🔍 . If you had, you would have seen that we are located 700 meters high in the mountains, and as such, the roads naturally go up and down. There’s nothing we can do about that—it’s been that way for centuries! You also would have known that we don’t offer a buffet like large hotels, where breakfast sits waiting for you in serving trays all morning. Instead, our staff prepares a fresh, local champagne breakfast for you at the agreed time. Once again, we’re sorry that this was a mismatch for you. It happens, and we hope your next locations will better align with your preferences. Enjoy the rest of your time in Spain! Rudolf

Yes, the advantage of our location is the stunning views of the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea, but indeed, we have hills. But that didn’t surprise you in the mountains! 😊 . Three years ago, we chose the Spanish minister Irene (Montero) because she managed to pass a law ( Solo Sí es Sí ) aimed at curbing sexual violence against women (over 40,000 incidents in Spain in 2023). Now, it turns out that the law also has some drawbacks. We read that, too, and it is more than unfortunate. We appreciate you bringing it up. We love having engaged guests. We’re pleased that you, as our Spanish guests, also appreciate our non-standard concept of combining a B&B with a small boutique and wellness hotel. And we’re happy you found the perfect pillow from our pillow menu. It’s lovely that you enjoyed your stay at Malaga Hills and had a great time at the famous Feria in Malaga. We apologise for the small gaps that suddenly appeared on the screen on Friday and for our Spanish supplier being out celebrating that weekend. The issue has now been fixed. Your comment about the butter was new to us – you’re the first person to mention the salt in the butter. It was clear that you truly enjoyed all the activities available around us—from hiking to exploring caves, from city trips to dining out. This was truly what you’d call an active vacation. And we’re sorry you missed having a TV in your room, but that’s a deliberate choice to help you disconnect at Malaga Hills, away from a world full of sorrow and distraction. FROM MADRID TO CÓMPETA Thank you, Christine, for your kind words. We're glad you enjoyed your stay. What I enjoyed most about your visit was your request to reserve a good restaurant for you in advance. "But not too Spanish because we already have plenty of that in Madrid," you said. Well, that's challenging, I thought. We are two lovely, beautiful villages, but the cuisine is Spanish—and it's special. We were thrilled that you were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the culinary presentations of our local restaurants—and at different prices than in Madrid. 😊 It was also great that you could easily exchange thoughts with other guests in English. That makes a holiday more enjoyable. Visit us again soon; by train, you can reach Malaga in a comfortable 2 hours and 24 minutes. And a rental car will be waiting for you at the station.
