I ordered a cheesecake for my wife for her birthday. The place was closed when I arrived to pick it up. Nobody let me know the place was temporarily closed. I was still charged for the cheesecake I did not receive. No response from the owners. No refund yet!!!

Hi Danielle. I'm so sorry for that inconvenience. We unexpectedly lost our lease for the West Village location this week. Please drop me an email with all of the particulars of your purchase (Name, phone number, last 4 digits of the credit. If you have a copy of the receipt, the date and receipt number) and we will make sure that you receive a refund. Again, I'm so very sorry. Amazing pastry! We loved this bakery. We stopped on our way and did not have high expectations. We took some pastry to go and it was amazing! We tried the traditional donut and brioche and seriously - so good! Highly recommend this bakery!

Favorite coffee shop in the neighborhood! I go almost everyday, staff is always warm and personal,— even on busy days, they’ll check in on little things we chatted about before. Feels like a special little part of my routine.

Not what it used to be. Maybe my memory betrays me, but this old-fashioned donut is way sweeter and greasier than a few years ago. It’s contrary to Mah-Ze-Dahr’s philosophy of “not too sweet”. I stopped coming here because they never had the old-fashioned donuts whenever I visited—the brioche donuts are not a substitute. I was ecstatic to see it in the display case as it has been years since I had it, but it’s just not the same. Still pretty good though.
