We absolutely loved our stay and we were so sad to go home! Everyone was so incredibly accommodating and thoughtful and they care so much about their customers. We really enjoyed chatting with them as well and getting to know them. It’s a nice little escape from reality, yet close enough to local restaurants and Hocking Hills if you feel the need to explore. 10/10 experience and we can’t wait to go back!!!
This was a beautiful retreat that made me feel like I was spending a night in the Shire! Everything looked great inside and out. The front garden was well cared for and decorated beautifully, and the barrel-shaped hot tub was so fun! It was delightful to sit in it and watch the sun go down and all the garden lights come on. The view during the day was also gorgeous; there was even a cow on the nearby hillside to watch! The kitchen had all the basics, and the furniture & decorations were great! Several games and books were provided, and we watched LOTR and played Uno in the evening when we came in.
The hosts were also very hospitable! This was a last-minute getaway to cheer up my fiancé and I after a loss, and we were only available for one night. Mervat kindly adjusted the 2-night rule so we could make the trip work. We also got a tour of the other facilities, which are absolutely beautiful. We'll be back and are even considering this as a possible wedding venue!

I can't say enough good things about the property, the houses, or the owners. No expense was spared in the construction of the units, with a level of careful thoughtfulness that truly creates a sense of magic to experience. The location is far removed from any cities and truly helps you escape the problems of modern day life. While there are creature comforts, such as high speed internet and a TV, you can obviously choose to just sit outside and take in the beauty of nature that surrounds you. Before we left, we spoke to the owners and I can't say I have met anyone nicer or more proud of what they've created (as they should be). My fiancee and I will absolutely be returning. If you're wondering whether the trip is worth it--trust me, it is.
We stayed in the hobbit-inspired airbnb for a quick relaxing weekend near Hocking Hills State Park. The location is absolutely stunning, the perfect place to getaway and unplug for awhile. The room was so adorable with nods to the Lord of the Rings everywhere you stepped. The best part was relaxing in the rustic hot tub to watch the sunset! Very close to hiking opportunities and highly recommend the sauna after a day of exploring! Hope to visit again soon.

Love this place! We stayed in the Forest Hobbit House. Very neat. Has a kitchen area, sitting area, dining area, bed and full bathroom. Water pressure is excellent and bathroom is beautiful. Check in was easy. Communication was excellent with the host. Sauna pod onsite which we did use, was clean and had a nice view of the pond and landscape. Also used the hot tub, slightly disappointed there are no jets. An amazing stay and would recommend!

Everything was set up so perfect down to the tiniest details. Even the toilet paper was a sweet surprise !
The location is everything and more you could hope for, overlooking the hills with totally uninterrupted views.
The hobbit houses are seriously a work of art. The craftsmanship and details truly can't go unnoticed.
We had the most amazing time in the wood hot tub, especially at night once the stars came out and you almost felt like you were in another world!
If all of that wasn't enough, the bed we stayed in was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. It was the best nights sleep I have had in years!! Only ro find out it is a mattress imported from Europe!!! The good nights rest alone was worth the stay.
We only stayed for less than 24 hours and truly had the most unforgettable and memorable getaway we've ever experienced. We truly made the most of it and couldn't have done it without Mervat and the Hobbit House.
Whether you only have a short time or an extended stay, everything about this place, the location and all the amenities are absolutely perfect!

Such a beautiful property! So relaxing and the perfect getaway to disconnect and enjoy the surrounding views! Mervat and Ron are extremely kind and hospitable and really made sure I was taken care of during my stay! Such a unique property. Who doesn’t love hobbit homes?!
Lovely experience staying here for a weekend in winter. Arrived during a winter storm so 4 wheel drive was necessary to get up the driveway. The grounds were setup so nice with lighting. Grill, hot tub, and sauna enhanced the stay. Inside our hobbit style cabin was everything we needed with the equipped kitchen. The bathroom was very nice with a hot high pressure shower helped unwind for the night. We were surprised how comfortable the memory foam mattress was to sleep in. Mervat was an exceptional host. Will be back!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a a quick fall get-away. We had a fantastic time! The views are great and the hobbit holes are super cozy. Star gazing by the fire pit and using the hot tube was the perfect way to relax after hiking. This is such a unique and fun way to stay in hocking hills! The owners were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be staying again soon!
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful night here! I would say I was a hard guest because we decided last minute to stay at hocking hills instead of heading home from a trip. They kindly said yes and made sure we had all the info we needed. When we arrived, our cabin was clean and prepped for our arrival.
The bed had a very nice memory foam matress, and the walk-in waterfall style shower was gorgeous. The next morning we made ourselves two mugs of complimentary coffee, and relaxed outside to enjoy the view. We also enjoyed the hamok, and wished we had had time to try the outdoor suana before leaving to hike for the day.
We had a wonderful stay, and we are so thankful they were willing to accept us with so little time upfront.
Absolutely loved my stay. Close to some gorgeous hikes in Hocking Hills, spotless inside the cabin, and the fire pit was the perfect way to close out the day. Felt completely at home from the time my feet hit the gravel on property.

Welcome to the Shire! These “hobbit holes” are every LOTR fan’s dream. The perfect little getaway spot to unplug and escape from reality. The views are picturesque and the accommodations are idyllic.
I would highly recommend a steam in the sauna on the property. I didn’t know I needed it, but by the end of the weekend I was wishing I could take the sauna home with me.
The management was so friendly and helpful. You can tell they truly value their guests. They even provided us with great spots to eat and sights to see. They are perfectly located within driving distance of ash cave and old man’s cave and a few local wineries as well. Cannot recommend these earthen houses highly enough. We will be returning again for sure.

The first impression was just WOW! The stay was incredible and the house was super super cute! It was very clean and it offered all ammeneties that one may need. Even though it is in a secluded area it has good wi-fi . The house offers privacy and peace. But the most mesmerizing experience was watching the stars from the hot tub. It’s a perfect distance from all hiking trails. The whole property it’s very nicely decorated and the hosts have put much love into it ! Mervet was extremely helpful and she gave us great tips for the area. Her hospitality made us feel like home. We can't wait to go back! This place is a MUST when you visit Ohio!
